Dented Cans By Heather Walsh
Save 2 today on this much-loved family story, told with humor and poignancy. This book will charm you and touch you. Get it today for 99 cents!

"Insightful and excellent! When I first began reading "Dented Cans," I knew I would be hooked in for the long haul without any effort. The very first page makes you curious and pulls you in to the story, making you want answers to the questions the author arises within the first couple of paragraphs. This story is like nothing I have ever read before. It is at times heart-wrenching, often hilarious and it really makes you stop and think. Are any of our families perfect? Don't we all have some kind of a quirk or some secret we wish to keep from each other and the outside world? These are the questions we stop to ponder when we read Heather Walsh's book.

"There are so many things to love about this book, and yet it is difficult to expand on this thought without giving away the story. The "secret" that is mentioned in the blurb for this book is revealed in a somewhat unusual setting, but I really felt it worked for this book. Where else could a family with such quirks and intricacies figure out what makes them different is actually what holds them together than the Magic Kingdom?

"The author paces this book perfectly, allowing each of her characters to be fully realized before moving on to the end of the book. I never felt like she rushed this or wished it was finished early. It is very apparent that she took the time to nurture these characters and this family until she was proud of them and ready for the world to meet her dynamic cast.

"Reading this book makes you want to stop what you are doing and hug the ones you love. I found myself smiling and getting teary-eyed all at the same time, and it is not often that I am so affected by something I have read. This book is so different than the other genre based fiction I have read in the last few years. Fully deserving of five stars and a recommendation. I will read this one again."

"- Ionia Martin, Amazon Top 500 reviewer"

Dented Cans, by Heather Walsh

A family secret is revealed during an ill-fated-yet hilarious-trip to Disney World.

Sixteen-year-old Hannah Sampson knows her family is not what you would call normal. Her father compulsively buys dented cans and has a particular fondness for cans without Hannah's parents inflict one last family vacation on the Sampson children, a trip that goes comically wrong almost from the get-go. Hannah is forced to confront her family's past in Disney World, of all places, when an emotional argument prompts her parents to disclose a secret they have been keeping from the children for sixteen years. Ultimately, she must decide whether to leave her hometown and not look back, or to focus on helping her family.

Excerpt from Dented Cans

Here is a brief sample, during the trip to Disney World. This is in the voice of Hannah, the narrator of the novel.

We did a few more rides, and then we went to the World Showcase, the section of EPCOT that consisted of pavilions "showcasing" various countries. In reality just a bunch of overpriced restaurants and gaudy gift shops "hawking" ethnic food and trinkets. Before we were allowed to eat lunch, we had to locate a restroom so we could rid our hands of the thousands of germs that only Dad had the ability to detect. Then we spread out across two benches in Italy right next to Alfredo's Restaurant, where people who actually purchased their food went to eat. It was a good thing we'd brought our own peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. That and chicken fingers would have probably been a hard ethnic cuisine to place. Maybe the Nutritionally Defunct Pavilion'

Mom began passing out the sandwiches. I felt as if I shouldn't eat mine, knowing the hard work that went into making it.

"This World Showcase is so boring," Ryan said.

"This World Showcase is so stereotyped," I said. "Who knew the only thing Italians do is listen to 'O Solo Mio' while they eat spaghetti and meatballs' And if you're German, you obviously dance the polka. Half of it isn't even true."

"Yeah, I didn't know that Mexicans just hit pi~natas all day. And you can buy your own to whack for just 19.99," Ryan said.

"Hannah, stop questioning everything. Just try to enjoy it," Dad said.

Stop questioning everything. I think Dad was just quoting Socrates there. Didn't he say that' My fellow Greeks, stop questioning everything. Just enjoy. Enjoy EPCOT.

"OK, I won't point out that Africa, the second largest continent on the planet, isn't even represented here," I said.

"We've heard enough of your opinion on the matter. Can you please just let your younger brother enjoy this'" Dad said.

Sure. I could keep the truth to myself. Socrates and I were kindred spirits. Perhaps Dad had some hemlock for me to drink?

"Did you bring any canned peaches for dessert?" Ryan said.

I laughed.

"OK, very funny," Dad said.

Heather Walsh grew up in North Haven, CT, fantastically close to Pepe's pizza.

She received a B.A. in English at Mary Washington College, which has been renamed to, drum roll please... the University of Mary Washington. They initially tried to rename it after another dead white Virginian because there aren't enough of those schools around, but somehow Mary pulled through. Heather graduated Phi Betta Kappa and summa cum laude, which sounds kind of fancy but really means she took easy classes.

She taught high school English in Brooklyn for one year, where she loved the students but not the system. She then joined corporate America and worked there for too many years as an IT trainer, project manager, business analyst, and SQL dabbler (select * from Dented Cans).

Her favorite writer is Alice Munro, her favorite movie is The Godfather Parts I & II (tied for first), and her favorite TV show is The Wire.

She has lived in some pretty neat places, including Brooklyn (kind of before it was hipster-cool to do so), Manhattan, and San Francisco. The unfortunate result of living in these locations is that she has become an obnoxious foodie. She currently lives in Brookline, MA with her husband, Mike DeLucia, and their two children.

Bells In Wicca

Bells In Wicca
The bell is an incredibly ancient ritual tool. When being struck, the bell produces vibrations that are filled with power in accordance to the bell's fullness, tone and material.

Bells of all sizes are being used across the world, the bell of Notre Dame in France for example. Over the years, people have been singing songs and carols with these instruments, which is in part the reason for the bell's association with winter holidays.

A bell is a female symbol and often used in rituals to invite the Goddess. The chimes of the bell are used to reflect negative spells and evil spirits and encourage good energy. When not in use, you can keep the bell inside of a cabinet or hang it on a door to guard your home, or simply place it on your altar for future use. The element associated with the bell is Air.

During rituals, there is a meaning to the number of times the bell is struck:

1 - a new beginning

2 - the number of the God, unity

3 - the number of the Goddess, creativity

4 - grounding and balance

5 - inspiration

6 - harmony

7 - acquire wisdom

8 - achievement

9 - transition to a new level

Discernment Why Is It Important

Discernment Why Is It Important
Justin Peters is an ordained minister and preacher, but is more well-known for his creation of the seminar "A Call for Discernment". It is an in-depth, biblical critique of the Prosperity Gospel/Health-Wealth false gospel. This false gospel is also known as a Word Faith Movement, perpetuated by Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer and many others.

His bio says that as a teenager, Justin himself attended faith-healing services in hopes of being delivered from his Cerebral Palsy. Though the potential was there to shake his faith in the Lord, in the long run, these experiences had the opposite effect. He says he has learned that his CP is a blessing because it keeps him dependent on God in his own weakness.

What is Discernment and why is it important? Are we supposed to "judge" or not? Are we told to discern even if we do not have the spiritual gift of discernment? In this seminar, Peters shows that discernment is a duty for all Christians, not only to detect issues in Word-Faith preaching, but in all aspects of a Christian's life.

You might have heard people say, "I don't need to know doctrine. I am not a theologian. I just loooove Jesus." Peters says, that is a foolish statement. You cannot know someone unless you study them and know who they are. If you want to love Jesus, become a student of Him, and study His word. It is a false humility to say you don't need doctrine.

Here is a LINK TO THE SESSION'S.PDF OUTLINE that you can read along with the seminar clip below.

If you don't want to or don't have time to watch the entire video above, here is Todd Friel of Wretched Radio & TV, interviewing Justin Peters, discussing the Word of Faith movement in this 7-minute clip.

The Lord is gracious and kind. He gave us His word in the bible so we would not be unaware of satan's schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11). I believe the battle is growing more deep and fierce. Satan is scheming mightily to make the unwary drift away (Hebrews 2:1-4). Keep your anchor dug in- the anchor is Jesus. He is the rock, the foundation of our faith. There is no greater joy than in clinging to Him. Never fear: no one can ever snatch us out of His hand. (John 10:29).

Love Jesus by getting to know him, in His word. Doctrine matters. So does discernment. Ultimately the scriptures tell us why doctrine and discernment are important:

"For whatever was written was given to us for our learning, that through patience and comfort of the scriptures we might have hope." (Romans 15:4 KJV)

HOPE! What a blessed word in dark days! Light shines and hearts melt and love reigns. Hope! Hope in Him, learn about Him, He is the treasure!

More Chinese Tie The Knot In Churches

More Chinese Tie The Knot In Churches
The Jakarta Post, Li Yao, Asia News Network ( China Daily ), Sun, July 22, 2012

TIE THE KNOT: Several couples attend a Western group wedding in the

Weiting Auditorium in Huai'an, Jiangsu province, in June. (China Daily/

Yang Duoduo)

First came white bridal gowns, with intricate veils and long flowing trains becoming a common sight at Chinese weddings. Now, more young couples are choosing another imported tradition: tying the knot in a church.

Although the Christian population is in the minority in China, churches and cathedrals nationwide have reported a boom in bookings, with some purposely courting nonbelievers by offering quasi-religious ceremonies.

"Until 2008, we weren't allowed to hold such weddings [for non-registered parishioners]," said Fan Guoxing, a pastor at Haidian Christian Church in Beijing.

"Now the rules have been relaxed, I'm officiating at about 40 a year, half of which are for nonbelievers."

Saturdays are the busiest, he said, sometimes with as many as eight ceremonies to handle.

At the other side of the country in Sichuan province, Xie Hongxia, a Catholic wedding planner for Chengdu diocese, estimated that about 90 per cent of the 70 or so weddings held annually at the city's cathedral are for non-Christian couples.

Wang Manshu and Jiang Jin were married on Feb 12 at Haidian Christian Church, which is in the capital's Zhongguancun technology area.

"We were worried our booking would be rejected, so we were really happy when we got a positive response," said Wang, 35.

"Young people like us need a special [church] ceremony. Our hearts could be purified, and it helps us find a deeper connection."

The couple spent 6,000 yuan (US940) on their big day, which included the cost of the venue, the pastor, decorations and choral music. It would have cost even more had they not arranged their own bridal stylist, photographer and cameraman.

"Traditional Chinese weddings are too complicated," Wang said. "Although expensive, the church was no fuss at all. We were briefed about what would happen during the 30-minute ceremony and didn't even meet the pastor until just beforehand."

According to tradition, the bride's father walked her down the aisle in front of 100 family members and friends, before Fan, the pastor, gave a brief sermon.

The couple exchanged vows, each time ending with an "Amen", and then joined to light a candle symbolising their unity in marriage.

"It was an education for me," said the bride's 65-year-old uncle, Wang Tianyu, who said it was his first time in a church. "Young people are having a lot of quick marriages and quick divorces nowadays. Maybe a solemn church wedding will help them take marriage more seriously."

It was also a first for Zhang Xing, a guest of the groom who works for a Beijing pharmaceuticals company. He said he was nervous during the ceremony.

"I was uncomfortable," he said. "I wanted to smoke, then thought better of it and restrained the urge. At a Chinese wedding, people chat, walk around and make jokes about the newlyweds, but in church I had to watch my behaviour and avoid embarrassing myself."

Churches across China have responded in different ways to accommodate their rising popularity among young couples.

Southern Cathedral, which is operated by the Beijing Catholic Diocese, slashed its charge for non-Christian couples to 3,300 yuan (517.7) this year, down from 5,990 yuan (939.8) in 2011.

The price cut was made because the clergy had attempted to make the weddings simpler and more frugal, according to Gao Baola, a wedding planner at the cathedral.

"There are no cameras, no makeup service and no red carpet," she said.

"Instead of fresh bouquets, we use silk flowers, as well as recorded choral music."

Xishiku Catholic Church, also known as Beijing's Northern Cathedral, requires non-Christian couples to have a civil-marriage certificate before they can book the venue. The price is 2,600 yuan (407.9), which includes decorations and, on Saturdays, a full choir.

Volunteer Zhou Fucheng at the church said the ceremonies generate much-needed income for the church, and added that even requests from people marrying for a second time may also be accepted if they can explain their case to the priest.

However, not all parishioners are happy about the their churches being rented out to nonbelievers.

"Some Christians have voiced their objection and believe we host the weddings of nonbelievers just to make a profit," said pastor Fan at Haidian Church in Beijing.

"In doing so, though, many more people get to know about our beliefs."

He explained that originally either the bride or groom had to be a practicing Christian for a couple to get married in the church. It was only later it was opened to all comers.

Ma Qing, 43, who was baptised in 1985 and works as a volunteer at Southern Cathedral on weekends, said she has an open mind about nonbelievers choosing church weddings.

"The church welcomes all who are interested," she said. "We greet newcomers and let them decide if they want to know more. Some were married as nonbelievers and were later baptised."

Whether the latest wedding fad leads more into the Christian religion or not, church phones are likely to keep ringing in the short term.

Mao Weiwei, 27, said she has seen countless white weddings in movies and TV shows, and was also impressed when she read about how one of her favorite singers, Christine Fan from Taiwan, got hitched in a church ceremony last year.

But it was not until she saw her non-Christian friend exchange vows with her "Mr. Right" in a church that she started to imagine it for herself.

"I never knew such a ceremony was available for nonbelievers in China," said Mao, an instructor at an English training centre in Beijing. "Now I know, I can't get the idea out of my head.

"Traditional Chinese weddings are a bit too grand for me. I want mine to be perfect, celebrated in an intimate, serene and sweet manner."

Pilgrimage To Loch Mo Naire

Pilgrimage To Loch Mo Naire
"THEMES: Banishing; Health; Protection"

SYMBOLS: "Water; Oak"

PRESIDING GODDESS: "Triduana"

ABOUT TRIDUANA: In Scotland, this goddess rules over sacred water sources, from which she selflessly gives of her elixir to all who ask in humility. Many of her wells are said to dwell beneath oak trees, ancient symbols of protection and well being.

TO DO TODAY.

Since before the 1800's, people have been coming to Loch mo Naire around this time of year to heal their body, mind, or spirit. People sip a bit of the water and bathe in it three times, giving an offering of silver coins to the generous water spirit there. For us, this means drinking eight glasses of water today, as is often recommended by physicians for improved health. This helps flush our toxins and draws Triduana's healing energy into our bodies.

Another custom easily followed is that of taking off one's clothes and walking backward to banish sickness. Both of these actions symbolize a turning away or a change. If possible, choose clothing you don't need anymore, take it off, throw it out, then walk backward to a place where you can put on fresh clothing and don Triduana's blessings!

Interestingly enough, oak leaves have long been considered excellent health charms. If you can catch one before it touches earth, you ensure yourself of Triduana's protection and a month without colds.

Witch Exchange

Witch Exchange
witchexchange:

Hi all!

So, this is happening! And I think it'll be way better than last year's exchange. I've updated the HOW section of the Witch Exchange Tumblr, here's what it says:

If you do want to participate, send me an ask with some information about yourself! THIS WILL BE PUBLICLY POSTED. If you submit an ask, you basically are signing up to receive asks from folks who will ask you if you want to buddy up with them!

This is what I'll need from you:

* The basics - age, location, gender, etc (if you feel comfortable sharing)

* Are you a witch?

* Are you Pagan?

* Tell us about your spirituality!

* Favourite stuff? What are you into, in terms of fun spiritual items/physical objects?

* All spiritual stuff aside, what makes you tick? Do you really love reading, are you a yogi, or maybe you have a green thumb?

* A bit about your witchy self!

* Favourite oils/scents/candles, if applicable

* What do you want out of the exchange? What kind of partner are you looking to form a bond with? Who do you want to meet? Do you want to connect with someone in your neck of the woods, or someone far away?

NOTE: Last year, this was all anonymous, and everyone got a different partner. This year, I'm entirely taking that away and making this 100% transparent.

If you agree to be in a gift exchange with someone, please send me an ask and I'll add you to the 'WHO' page so we can keep track of whom is exchanging with whom, etc, so that we can all remain accountable. Feel free to exchange gifts with more than one partner!

Don't submit me your address - you and your partner can figure out that information between the two of you.

Oversoul Guidance

Oversoul Guidance
January 17, 2014

Angel-Light Question: "What is the medium [halfway point] between leader and follower?"

Oversoul Response: "Stands alone."

Angel-Light Thought: "Wow! That was quick. My Oversoul connection must be strong this morning."

Angel-Light Action: Checked and found the Oversoul connection to be at 90% of optimal. Note: A few days ago it was at 75% of optimal. That's not good enough for me, so I then asked for the elimination of all that was blocking and interfering with Oversoul connection. That can happen immediately or take several days or weeks when we take this action on behalf of ministry supporters. Corruption and contamination are par for the course when living at this dense level of existence-moreso for some of us than others of us. Some might nitpick the "stands alone" response, but it is a simple answer to a simple question. I didn't ask for a detailed response, but just a simple answer.

Oversoul is also known as Overself and High Self and Superconscious. Oversoul is not one's Guardian Angel. A Soul is a facet of Oversoul, and there are numerous facets that make up an Oversoul Group. Soul facets are sometimes called Soul Selves. Other facets of Oversoul group can choose to participate in the life and provide input-often without being asked. Some people choose to call these guides or even angels; however, the work of one's angels is more along the lines of protection-not dispensing information in response to questions.

Sometimes I specifically address my Divine with questions, but usually my Divine communion is about sharing my personal feelings and cares and concerns and just being in the love and bliss of Divine presence within. I mostly refer to Divine in me as my Inner Divine Spirit. I also refer to it as "the Christ presence within." In The New Testament of The Holy Bible, the Apostle Paul describes this as "Christ in you the hope of glory."

I trust my Oversoul, and I trust my Divine. I'm not quite as trusting of guidance that comes in from other sources-no matter how benevolent. I weigh the words and take into consideration those that feel kind and loving and reject those that do not.

We are the Angel-Light Team. Our purpose/mission is to facilitate the liberation, healing, wellbeing, enlightenment, and ascension of people around the world who are drawn to our ministry. All who support our ministry with donations are specifically blessed.

Review: Hedge Riding Pagan Portals

Review Hedge Riding Pagan Portals
On my blog I recently reviewed a book called Hedge Witchcraft by Harmonia Saille, which is an excellent introduction to that form of traditional witchcraft. Her new book, Hedge Riding, follows on from it and offers an in-depth look at one of the most fascinating aspects of hedgewitchery - the practice of travelling in spirit to other realms.

These are the realms of the ancestors, nature spirits, fairies and divine beings; collectively called "the otherworld". This form of travelling is a shamanic technique, and the term "hedge riding" is used because the barrier between the worlds is seen symbolically as a hedge.

Hedge riding is a core practice of hedge witches, although they are usually also skilled in natural magic, herb lore, divination and folk traditions. There are many practical reasons for hedge riding, including contacting animal guides, communicating with the dead, gaining wisdom, healing and divination.

Publisher Moon
However, hedge riding is not easy. It is a skill that usually takes plenty of time and practise to be able to do at all, and also has some risks because the entities one may encounter in the otherworld are not always friendly.

But, if you want to learn, I would recommend Harmonia's book as a good place to start. It is clearly written, without over-simplifying what is one of the most difficult aspects of hedgewitchery.

She explains what the otherworld is like - normally depicted as being divided into the upper world of gods, the middle world of humanity, and the lower world of primal nature, as well as the underworld where the spirits of the dead can be found. She discusses the tools used to reach those worlds, including drums and rattles, but also traditional herbs.

Harmonia covers the practical techniques required, but explains that one should learn to walk before one learns to ride. Meditation, visualisation and pathworking, while not being the same as hedge riding, are very good skills to master first. The book contains exercises in all of these. It also covers protection and grounding - essential before one travels to the otherworld - as well as importance of animal and spirit guides, and how find and communicate with them.

Finally, the book shows how to put all of these techniques together to actually cross the hedge, through a series of experiential examples.

Hedge riding is a subject that has not been widely written about in depth. This new book, in the Pagan Portals series, fills something of a gap in the market and I am sure it will sell well.

"Harmonia Saille is an author and practising Hedge Witch who holds workshops on the runes, faeries, hedge riding and other subjects. She lives in Ireland and is deputy editor of Ireland's pagan magazine Brigid's Fire. Her other

Emotional Signs And Symptoms Of A Spiritual Awakening

Emotional Signs And Symptoms Of A Spiritual Awakening
Spiritual awakenings can trigger amazing things inside your mind, heart, and of course, your spirit! A spiritual awakening can also have interesting effects on your physical body. In this entry, we're going to look at some of the changes which a spiritual awakening can cause in your emotional arena. (We'll look at other types of changes later this year.)

Here are but a few of the signs of a spiritual awakening:

A stricter sense of morality. As your spiritual awakening is experienced, you start to understand the importance of living your true will. Along with this understanding comes a desire to treat other beings with honor and respect. Secrets, lies, or actions that deter you from your true will may become increasingly difficult to participate or tolerate. You place a new importance on honesty and reciprocity in all dealings with others.

A conscious need to seek your soulmate, other half, or twin flame. When we experience a spiritual awakening, we may have the desire to share this experience with someone close to us who can understand. In the event that you are single and seeking that person, your commitment to the search may have intensified since your awakening has come upon the horizon. Remember that if you want this encounter to happen, you must continue to work on your own life in order to prepare and welcome this soulmate.

An anxious, nervous sense that something significant may be about to occur. You may be experiencing worry, suspicion, or the perception of a significant impending event. Try not to allow fear or worry to get the best of you. Take things slowly and work on one small issue at a time. The feeling about what's to come may be a natural reaction to any surprise, good or bad.

A heightened sense of emotional sensitivity. Even small things may suddenly become overwhelming to you. You may cry easily, become sad or upset at things that may perhaps not have affected you so much in the past. You may also have unexpected and intense bouts of inexplicable bliss, profound elation, comfort and peace. The heart chakra may also be presenting with aches, pains, or a sense of pressure. This is often due to your chakra opening and accepting new information or energy. Try to be open to your newfound sensitivity; let the feelings ebb and flow naturally. Try some cleansing exercises or deep breathing as you allow the chakra to naturally expand, strengthen, and grow.

A new need for solitude and alone time. During a spiritual awakening, you may feel that being around others is more draining of your emotional and psychic resources. Even if you're very gregarious and love people, they can be especially draining and taxing as you're more attuned with your own inner changes lately. Perhaps you just want to stay home more instead of going out and doing the things you used to enjoy. Or, instead of running with your usual crowd, you are now preferring to keep to yourself. You may not be depressed or anxious, but you might just need this time alone. Go with it an enjoy, but do your best to keep connections with others alive - you don't want them to think you've forgotten about them!

A newfound need for spiritual connection and meaning. Your spiritual awakening will spark a craving for purpose and a deep desire for understanding of the world around you. It is also possible that, for the first time ever, you find yourself longing for something you cannot name. An inner peace or a connection to spiritual ideas in order to make you feel whole. Listen to your heart, and go where it takes you. This can be an exciting time in your life to learn and grow!

Moments of newfound clarity. Perhaps you're going through a significant epiphany in your life now. After what may be an entire lifetime of living or thinking in a certain way, a shift in perspective (through whatever means) has caused you to see things in a whole new light. You may feel a stronger attunement with your higher power, or with a force that is greater than yourself. You may find yourself suddenly more concerned with humanity or healing the world around you.

A sense that you have gone through some changes, or that you are currently experiencing change. You may not feel the same as you used to feel. You may not even be able to pinpoint what those differences are between the old and new "you." However, the differences are there, and you can sense them even if you are unable to put the changes into words just yet. Remember that that best is yet to be. Continue to move on this spiritual journey and you will be able to find these answers.

A heightened sense of creativity. This one is huge for many people! It could be that the changes you've been witnessing inside yourself are simply giving you more to think about, and therefore you are feeling more inspired than you ordinarily are. However, you may also be attracting more creative impulses, or setting off an enhanced ability to draw inspiration from external sources. As you pick up these new ideas, do your best to keep track of them for future use. They may be needed not just for new projects that will require future attention, but also as a way to chart and track your own spiritual progress.

A deep need to find your true sense of self and life purpose. What has worked for you in the past is just fine, but when a spiritual awakening occurs, maybe your old ways of doing things are simply not going to work for you anymore. You may feel restricted by attachments, people, or lifestyles which do not suit your true purpose. You may need to let go of toxic relationships or bad situations that do not enable you to live your true will.

Ayahuasca, the holy sacrament which the indigenous people and Shamans of the Amazon have known as a powerful holistic purgative medicine capable of great healing and transformation for thousands of years. The film 'Other Worlds : A Journey Into The Heart Of Shipibo Shamanism' by Jan Kounen primarily shows the therapeutic power of the Shamans and their plant teachers. This power is a type of ancestral psychoanalysis or human psychotherapy backed by 4,000 years of experience and practice.

Ayahuasca is a powerful purgative and curative mixture which is used by the shamans of the Amazon to commune with the spirits, who then oversee the healing of the person who drinks the Ayahuasca brew, while the shaman guides the healing session and appeals to the spirits on behalf of his client.

Amazonian shaman, Javier Arevalo, who serves the community of Nuevo Progreso had a patient who was HIV positive and had been in hospital a fortnight. Javier says, "That night we drank Ayahuasca and I saw in my vision that HIV was like the devil destroying him and that he was getting worse.

"He stuck to the Ayahuasca diet for two months and he also took bitter tasting herbs which cure internal wounds. After three times [three Ayahuasca sessions] he was better and, when tested, proved HIV negative".

The Pulitzer Price-nominated author, John Perkins, who has written extensively about Ayahuasca usage among the Shuar Indians of Ecuador, has confirmed other 'miraculous' healings. "During the ten years we have been taking people to meet the shamans, there have been a number of remarkable stories", he says4 - among them, cures for deafness, depression, weight loss, as well as endless accounts of life changes and new visions for a different personal and social future.

OTHER WORLDS : A JOURNEY INTO THE HEART OF SHIPIBO SHAMANISM

The brew blended in careful measure, contains Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and leaves of the chacruna plant (Psychotria viridis), often with datura and pure jungle tobacco, which cause the purging qualities that ayahuasca is famous for. The final mixture is also known as ayahuasca, from the Quechua words, aya meaning 'spirit' or 'dead', and huasca meaning 'rope' or 'vine'. Hence, the brew is often referred to as the 'vine of souls' or the 'rope of the dead'.

It is prepared by cutting the vines into short lengths which are then scraped, cleaned and pounded to a brown pulp. The vines, along with chacruna leaves and other ingredients are then placed in a cauldron, water is added, and the entire mixture is boiled for 10-12 hours, overseen at all stages by the shaman who will continuously blow sacred tobacco smoke into and over the brew. When ready, the mix becomes a muddy, pungent liquid with a foul, acrid taste.

Once ingested, the mixture produces initial feelings of warmth which spread up from the stomach, creating a sense of well-being and a sensation of skin elasticity, almost as if the skin has become rubber-like and pliable and no longer separate from the air around it. After this first phase, which may last 30-60 minutes, the visionary effects begin, which are often dramatic. Harvard ethnobotanist, Wade Davis, in his book, One River1, described the sensation as akin to being "shot out of a gun barrel lined with Baroque paintings, and landing in a sea of electricity".

Visions of snakes and vines in bright primary colours are very common but, for the trained shamanic eye, information on the illnesses and diseases which inhabit his client's bodies are also expected. It is these visions which enable him, and the spirit of ayahuasca, to heal his clients.

Conceptual thinking is a limited tool when one truly attempts to develop one's consciousness. Indeed, human consciousness has a natural tendency to identify with thoughts and reason - stopping there. Shamans use a technology or an outside element, generally consisting of sacred plants. Using powerful psychotropic substances, the Shamans guide individuals, enabling them to "peel away" consciousness from thoughts and reason. The subconscious is gradually unveiled. During these experiences, a different reality appears and is observed through the prism of our consciousness.

The film depicts the Shamanic culture and their underlying belief systems which stem from their knowledge of the Invisible.

"The objective of this documentary is to impress upon viewers that these little-known Indians developed veritable cognitive technology through their own sciences of the spirit, thousands of years ago. To me, these men are warriors in the battle to unlock the mysteries of consciousness. Shamans consider the greatest ally and the worst enemy of every individual to be one and the same... himself or herself."

A S Haley Have They Violated

A S Haley Have They Violated Title Iv Ten Brave Episcopal Clergy Defy Ecusa In Fort Worth Case
April 24, 2012

Yesterday, seven bishops of the Episcopal Church (USA) - five active, and two resigned (retired) - joined the three Episcopal priests in the Anglican Communion Institute in filing an amicus curiae ("friend of the court") brief in the Texas Supreme Court appeal brought by Bishop Jack L. Iker and his Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth to overturn the summary judgment granted by the District Court in favor of ECUSA and its rump diocese and parishes. The arguments in the brief present a view directly contrary to the view expressed in the case by the Church's attorneys that ECUSA is "hierarchical."

[Side note: Despite all the magic hand-waving by ECUSA's Presiding Bishop and its General Convention, there is one and only one way to have a diocese become a member of the association of dioceses known as the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America. That one way is spelled out, in very clear words, in Article V of ECUSA's Constitution, and it has not changed in over 200 years. The faux "Diocese of Fort Worth" is here so called (and also denominated with adjectives like "rump", "Potemkin", "ersatz", or similar words) because it has not gone through that constitutional procedure, and unless and until it does, it is not a genuine ECUSA diocese, no matter how many official pronouncements issue from no matter what quarter of the Church. End of side note.]

The bishops joining in the brief are +Benitez (resigned - Texas), +Howe (resigned - Central Florida), +Lambert (suffragan - Dallas), +Love (Albany), +MacPherson (Western Louisiana), +Martins (Springfield), and +Stanton (Dallas). The three priests are the Rev. Prof. Christopher Seitz, the Very Rev. Dr. Philip Turner III, and the Rev. Dr. Ephraim Radner. THE REST

Physical Phase Changes

Physical Phase Changes
Phase changes are effects that may seem as though magic caused to a substance that are made through influential forces. When you apply the forces of a certain type to certain substances, the substance changes according to the force. You can apply mentally focused energy to change the material from within. What this is based off is the fact of physical phase changes through physics. Use this document as a physics primer for taking the physics class later on. Its also a physics primer to remember physics, if you already took the class.

Physics is the application of forces to achieve results by changing a solid material form to a liquid form to a gaseous form and back again through the application of heat and the absence of heat. Temperature is the measurement of heat and is measured in scales: the Celsius scale, the Fahrenheit scale and the Kelvin scale. I will only mention the Kelvin because it measures temperature the most accurately. It starts from 0 degrees Kelvin to unlimited. Absolute zero is 0 degrees Kelvin. This is the point where helium gas turns to liquid and makes a perfect superconductor and the human body shuts down as in the caller body level. Tc = temperature in degrees Celsius, Tf = temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. TK = temperature in Kelvin. To convert Kelvin to Celsius, the formula is K to c = TK - 273.15 and c to TK = Tc + 273.15. To convert Fahrenheit to Kelvin, the formula is K to f = (1.8 * (TK - 273.15)) + 32 and f to K = (Tf - 32)/1.8 + 273.15.

299.22 K is room temperature. The temperature of the human body is stated at 309.25 K to 310.95 K. The freezing point is at 273.15 K. This is where liquid water will become ice slowly. The boiling point is at 373.15 K. This is where water turns into vapor. To heat a solid is to melt it and it makes a liquid form through the heat being great enough. This makes the atomic covalent structure of said material to be active and loose. Covalent bonds is what makes a solid solid and they vibrate at a certain frequency. This is called a harmonic vibration which is measurable as sound pitch. What this causes when heat is applied to said covalent bond is the moment of melting solid objects into liquid form. To apply more physical heat is to make the liquid formed from the ice to go into a steam form also called a gaseous state.

This is because the covalent bonds between atoms change to extremely loose. The form this causes is called a gaseous state. In this state the covalent bond is still there but undetectable to the human eye. When heat is removed, and the gas is exposed to cold, or the absence of heat, it turns into a liquid. When that liquid is applied with more cold, it turns into a solid. Water is ice in solid form through freezing; and water is called vapor in gas form through vaporization. It is liquid in water form through liquidation.

Metals can also do this but the temperatures are vastly different. The melting points for metals are from 14.15 K to 3837.15 K. Listed in this chart from Melting point of metals website:

Metal; Abbreviation; Melting point in Kelvin,

Aluminum; Al; 927.15,

Brass; (85 Cu 15 Zn) Cu+Zn; 1173.15-1213.15,

Bronze; (90 Cu 10 Sn) Cu+Sn; 1123.15-1273.15,

Cast Iron; C+Si+Mn+Fe; 1533.15,

Carbon; C; 3837.15,

Chromium; Cr; 1888.15,

Copper; Cu; 1356.15,

Gold; Au; 1336.15,

Hydrogen; H; 14.15,

Inconel; Ni+Cr+Fe; 1666.15,

Iron; Fe; 1803.15,

Lead; Pb; 600.15,

Magnesium; Mg; 943.15,

Manganese; Mn; 1533.15,

Monel; Ni+Cu+Si; 1574.15,

Nickel; Ni; 1725.15,

Phosphorous; P; 317.15,

Silicon; Si; 1693.15,

Silver; Ag; 1234.15,

Stainless Steel; Cr+Ni+Mn+C; 1636.15,

Steel-High Carbon; Cr+Ni+Mn+C; 1625.15,

Medium Carbon; Cr+Ni+Mn+C; 1700.15,

Low Carbon; Cr+Ni+Mn+C;

Titanium; Ti; 2068.15,

Tungsten; W; 3273.15,

Zinc; Zn; 692.15.

As you can see from the chart, Hydrogen melts the quickest at 14.15 and Carbon melts the slowest at 3837.15. Meteorite ore, if found, takes the most heat through the process called smelting. This is just to purify it. To change metals into the gaseous state, takes 10000 K through an overly large application of heat. This is called the plasma state of metal and stone. That is hot enough to make you melt. The disintegration point for the human body is 6000 K so you wouldn't want to be in a metallic cloud for fear of melting. It takes 715 K to 2400 K to melt stone to lava. The change to gaseous state of rock is 24000 K for plasma.

Think of the sun in its mechanics, as its classified by letter in the Temperature of the Hottest Star website: Letter classification:Kelvin temperature range; O:100,000 - 30,000; B:25,000 - 12,000; A:11,000 - 8,000; F:7,800 - 6,200; G:6,000 - 4,600; K:4,900 - 3,350; M:3,400 - 2,600; R:4,500 - 2,000; N:4,500 - 2,000; S:

These are the examples of magical phase changes:

Charging water

Changing water or food to another version of itself

Making ideas happen by focus and interaction

Using spells to make things occur

Morphing items

Charging water

When phase changes occur for a glass of water, it begins with the focused mind on a glass of water and it makes it charged. The focus you give the drink will make it change by wild fire from within. One cannot control you through wild file because it is wholly owned by your focus. This charged water according to the Russians will make you healthier and live longer per each glass. It will make you disease resistant.

Changing water or food to another version of itself

Another idea is to make a phase change of water to wine or any other beverages. This works like this: Focus at the glass or container and imagine the taste of water in your mouth. Change it in complexity to the taste of wine in your mouth or your favorite beverage you remember so well. Allow the energy to change the water to the favorite beverage by mentally releasing it to the drink. To change food is the same process as the changing of the water. Just imagine sampling the food and tasting it for its complexity. Now allow the taste to change in you mind to that of your favorite food. The reason this works is because of the rule of metaphysics by the method of Mind Over Matter and Thaumaturgy through the effect of instructing the subconscious by the imagination. Even if this doesn't work, it will still taste better than the stuff you don't like. I could stand spinach after changing the taste of it in my mind to something better.

Making ideas happen by focus and interaction

Making ideas by focus and interaction, starts with the intention and begins with a thought. The Berlin Wall didn't fall because of Germany. It fell because over a million people starting with the United States wanted it, prayed for it, willed it to happen and because of the mass amount of metaphysically manipulated wild fire, it made the manipulation of the Germanic people possible. This in turn made a great effort of the Germanic people, to breaking the wall down themselves and laughing as the Germanic government watched helplessly. This can happen for creating a cure as well. When a disease is somehow publicly announced as to not having any cure and not having these effects which are On the personal scale, projects are done to achieve a personal goal to the greater good of said person's idea of right. To focus on the project having a successful and accepted conclusion without distraction, will get the project done. The amount of distraction will cause the project not to succeed, unless you include it in. Each added in distraction, will make a delay in the completion of the project. So, your goal should be to complete it, as soon as you can do it with as little distractions as possible.

Using spells to make things occur

Using spells to make things occur is the essence of a focus with imagination. It should be called the art of imagination because it is just focus with imagination to an effect that is achieved through link and wild fire manipulation. The magical act is achieved through the meditation of imagined scenes or a scene that you want to take place. To accept the responsibility of your actions will make the imagination done work. To focus of your mind to accomplishing the act will make the events happen in the events you imagined them as. Use feeling with the focus of your imagination and you gain a greater result. In a spell fight, the stronger and more ingenious the mind the more possibility that you will win. A win is not always as it seems. Sometimes a win will be the person who manipulates the better and gets more out it. The better manipulator will always get more out of a non winning situation. Sometimes faking a loss to destroy an enemy that you dislike is better than winning because it shows character and said enemy will feel guilt. Being an actor is never a crime. Always know the counterspell to the person doing the spell. A simple way to do this is to talk in the person's mind while he's trying to cast one. To do this safely, make the words to bring the spell to something else unless you want to have said spellcaster killed by it as disrupting a spell will kill the person.

Short ranged strategy and long range tactics will always win a fight. Winning a fight sometimes requires trashing a person privately or publicly to demoralize them before it even begins. Always have compassion for the people that are effected and the person you fight. The idea is not to destroy them but to get them to change from within by showing them a good example. However before you do this, know the enemy by testing said enemy to make a decision and not be seen doing this or it will be ineffective If said enemy would kill you even after the compassion offered, then show no mercy and use every underhanded technique that you can. Manipulate yourself if you have to. Shame the enemy to make him stop fighting as in a public debut. Then kill said enemy mercilessly or talk said enemy out the fight. This is the old Chinese way of converting an enemy from their side to your side. This can be done with no blood spilled. Always accept the responsibility by owning up to yourself or someone else that is a peer of your own actions. Remember to hold the killing blow if they show remorse and it is honest. Make them prove it by making them own up for their actions by paying you the afflicted or giving back what they stole. Never make the mistake of trusting them too much or they could do worse if they think they can get away with it. Be compassionate but hard at the same time.

Morphing an item

Morphing an item will make the item be the appearance to be as something else. To do this, requires you to focus on the object and imagine said object to morph in your own mind, to the desired result. While seeing the object change right in front of your own eyes. Seeing is believing, so your subconscious will take it as an instruction to change the item. Words also have power, thus say it will transform, speeds the process up. Wait at least two minutes to get the result you require. Its that simple and not a bad idea, is to morph the favorite tools you use to be self-repairing, to gain energy from the earth itself. This will allow your items to have no power and yet it will still work. Silver nickel iron connections, will allow you to control the devices by your will alone. The way this method works is to focus your mind on making it happen, and imagine the event to wield the subconscious mind, to force the object to change from within through wild fire. This uses the metaphysical rules of Mind Over Matter and Thaumaturgy, through the idea of imagination instructing the subconscious.

Cog Interfaith Work Mentioned In Tikkun Daily
The progressive Jewish blog site TIKKUN DAILY has a nice article about Pagans at The Parliament of the World's Religions, and it specifically mentions COG. However, there are some problems with the characterizations of COG's direct involvement. Here is what the author - Nancy Vedder-Shults has to say:

"The Covenant of the Goddess (CoG) brought Raul Manani, an indigenous practitioner from Argentina - CoG has been especially involved in this work through their Lost and Endangered Religions Project (LERP) since the late 1990s"...(Cont.)...

I appreciate that we are being mentioned in a positive way, but the accuracy of her observations are a little less than correct. THE LOST ">"ARCHANA VENKATESAN MA, PhD is Chief Research Coordinator in LERP's South Asian division. She is a Professor at St. Lawrence University in the Religious Studies Department. She is also the main facilitator of LERP's Araiyar Sevai Conservation Project.

LAYNE LITTLE MA, PhD is the Director of LERP's South Asian division. He is a Fulbright scholar and teaches in the Humanities ">DEVESH SONEJI PhD is the Director of The Mangala Initiative and Scholar Ambassador of the Devadasi Preservation Project. He is also an Assistant Professor of South Indian Religions at McGill University, Canada.

HARI KRISHNAN MA is the artist in residence at Wesleyan University CT. He is the co-founder of the Mangala Initiative and is the Performing Arts Director of the Lost & Endangered Religions Project. "

These folks are not affiliated with COG

Also, Raul MAMANI was privately sponsored to attend the Parliament by a group of people including members of COG and the UNITED RELIGIONS INITIATIVE.

Magic Divin

Magic Divin 4
Oghams, Faerie Divination

Oghams, Fourth Aicme

Ailim-Silver Fir or Elm

Myrddin the Mage

Objectivity-Rebirth-Secrets

Deities: Arianrhod, Wheel Goddess of Time, Space, Fate, Life, and Death.

Magickal Use: Fires. Torches. Regeneration.

Attributes: Color: Light Blue, or Piebald. Class: Shrub. Herb: Cowslip. Animal: Red Cow, and Phoenix.

Tree: The station of Ailim is the station of rebirth: the Winter Solstice. The Silver Fir is considered by many to be a tree denoting birth or the beginning of things. It stands at the head of the series of vowels in the Oghamic system, while the Yew, considered a tree of "death," stands at the end of that series.
This is a tree of regeneration. When it is cut down, and appears dead, new stems grow from the still-growing roots. Its resinous wood produces a strong purifying flame which was used in Keltic ceremonies of birth and death. It symbolizes the growing light of the reborn sun at midwinter emerging from darkness.

Expression: Fir indicates rebirth: a transformation from a weak state into a strong one. It is raw, basic force of health and vigor. This is a highly elevated state of being. From the height of this perspective, objectivity is gained and wisdom is found as a result of the objectivity. The Silver Fir is the beginning of the path to finding truth and life. It implies the need for secrecy on this path.

Divination: Ailim indicates that there is to be a rebirth: a great
transformation for the better, where new knowledge, objectivity, and leadership will be gained. There may be an opportunity to see an old challenge from a new perspective or to exercise domination in the near future. This Ogham also implies the need to conceal these new beginnings. The early phases of new things need to be done in secrecy so that they will not be disrupted. A new creative direction is likely to influence things. Along with discretion there is the need to learn from the past. Take care in choices.

The Challenge inherent in the Silver Fir Ogham is that a rebirth will be hindered. This may be because something that needs to remain a secret will be revealed before it is acceptable. There is the implication of gossip and idle talk. Embarrassing secrets may be uncovered and personal reputation damaged.
Carelessness may hinder progress and new projects have false starts. Also, one may be challenged to exercise the power of domination, leadership, and rulership without the benefit of full maturity or objectivity. This can be a very painful experience. There may be frustrations and the inability to see clearly and objectively.

Onn-Furze or Gorse

Lughos the Master

Synthesis-Wisdom-Gathering

Deities: Adraste, War Goddess.

Magickal Use: Honey.

Attributes: Color: Yellow Gold. Class: Chieftain. Herb: Heather. Animal: Hare.

Tree: The station of Onn is the Spring Equinox. The Gorse or Furze is a low growing shrub with long, thread-like spines. It is an evergreen, but its leaves often fall off and are very small. It can be found in flower in almost every month, therefore it takes on the symbolic meaning of continuous fertility. Its most outstanding feature is its small, fragrant, yellow-golden blossoms. Its golden flowers and prickles typify the young sun at the Spring Equinox. There is a Keltic custom of placing a spray of gorse in the bridal bouquet, as the old saying goes, "when the gorse is out of bloom, kissing is out of season."
The Gorse makes a fine food for animals, especially after it has either been ground into meal for horses, or after it has been burned on hillsides for the sheep to eat. The effect of both processes, of grinding or burning, is to destroy the hard thorns, leaving only the tender shoots.

Expression: The Furze is a sign of the in-gathering of sweet and valuable things. This is the gathering together, or synthesis, of valuable things (material, information, people, or whatever) for a great purpose. One of its other symbols is that of the beehive. The Gorse is one of the first plants that the bees visit in the springtime when they come out of their hives after hibernating. Bees create honey, an ancient symbol of wisdom because it is a sweet substance which comes only after hard work. This is one of the main functions of a chieftain or sovereign. The Gorse's spiky thorns make it a protective plant.

Divination: Onn suggests that now may be a time to sit back and gather yourself and the things around you together in order to come to a new and higher understanding, which is wisdom. There may be some influence from a divine source if you are open to it. Your way will be eased in life by a period of gathering information followed by active internal synthesis. Get yourself together within your own self. This will, of course, perhaps lead to a radical change in your approach to life and to matters surrounding any individual question. New opportunities are dawning and new information will be available.
The fertile possibilities of your life are opening up. Vitality is increasing.
Prosperity and well-being are growing. You will be able to effectively repel unwanted influences.

The Challenge associated with the Furze Ogham would be the tendency to scatter focus and concentration because too much attention is given to the very activity of gathering information or material. You must act effectively to meet all of your aims. Also, there may be some difficulty in gathering something you need. Vitality may be lacking, opportunities will seem few, and success will seem to be elusive. Dealing with "prickly" characters will cause action to be limited.

Ur-Heather (& Mistletoe)

Dalua the Great Fool

Passion-Success-Dreams

Deities: Grainne, Sun Goddess.

Magickal Use: Bringing Good Luck. Perfume. Restoring.

Attributes: Color: Resinous, or Purple, or Light Green. Class: Heather is Peasant and Mistletoe is Chieftain. Herb: Heather. Animal: Bee, Lion.

Tree: The station of Ur is the Summer Solstice. The Heather is the Midsummer Tree, and Red Heather at Midsummer is a sign of passion and is associated with the mountains and with acts of passion. The White Heather is a protection against acts of passion and is considered a lucky sign. Both are attractive to bees and are thus associated with the sovereign work of the spirit and with vigorous activity. Heather Ale is brewed as a restorative.

Expression: This is the sign of romance and dreams. In the Heather Ogham there is a strong connection between the conscious self of the subject and the deep levels of his or her unconscious. Ur is a gateway between the inner and outer worlds. In this Ogham, there is the expression of the need for passion and ecstacy in life. self-expression is also implied in the power of the Heather.

Divination: When Ur turns up in a divinatory reading, the subject is usually being advised to find gateways to passion in life, or there may be such an opening coming in the future. The individual is about to encounter the experience of love. The influences of imagination, intuition, and dreams are also very strong. One needs to find a creative outlet for self-expression to begin. Personal success, prosperity, and well-being are on the horizon. Plans are reaching fulfillment and the powers of self-expression are strong. A mature woman lends influence. Spiritual help, and psychic or spiritual development are beginning.

The Challenge of the Heather Ogham is the tendency to see projects, dreams, and direction dissolve under futile attempts to realize them. There may be some betrayal by people close to you. Do not be caught in the trap of merely daydreaming. Act on your passions, but act wisely. Immaturity and wayward behavior may be causing problems of "bad-luck" and under-achievement. You seem to be unable to become successful. Loss of confidence, dissatisfaction and discontent are possible. A love affair that began on a good note may turn sour.

Eadha-Aspen or White Poplar

Keyne, Lord of Temperance

Overcoming-Will Power-Sensitivity

Deities: Brighid, Goddess of Springtime, Youth and Fertility. Rhiannon, Great Queen and Enchantress.

Magickal Use: Shields. Measuring Rods. Shape-Shifting.

Attributes: Color: Silver White. Class: Shrub. Herb: Bracken. Animal: White Mare.

Tree: The station of Eadha is the Autumnal Equinox. In ancient Keltic times, shields were often made from the wood of the Aspen. Ancient bards would also sometimes divine by means of listening to the sounds made by the wind rushing through the leaves of the Poplar. The Aspen is very hardy, living in a range of habitats from low-lying wetlands to exposed mountain ledges. It thus has the quality of hardy resistance to a variety of seemingly inhospitable conditions.
In ancient Ireland, a stick of Aspen was used to measure the body for the coffin and the coffin for the grave. The esoteric significance of the Aspen wood is to point to the overcoming of death.

Expression: The Aspen is a sign of determination in the face of adverse negativity. It is a sign of actually being able to overcome the negative situations through a welling up of inner reserves and strength. There is resistance, but it will be overcome. This is a sign of protection against foes.
This Ogham also reminds us that the mind's power can override the inertia of matter, surmounting death itself. It is the power of the will overcoming destiny.

Divination: In divination, Eadha indicates that there may be some adversity in your everyday life, but that you will have the inner strength to overcome it.
The source of this strength must be from within. You are advised to seek in some creative way for the source of this strength, to come to know it and make it manifest in your life. At a certain point in a battle, there is a pool of strength and vigor in reserve that may be drawn upon to achieve victory. There is also a certain sensitivity to surrounding influences. Inner strength is powerful. Sensitivity is more effective than direct action at the present time.
Beware of indecision.

The Challenge of the Aspen Ogham is the tendency to give in to the forces that oppose us, or to burdens which tend to overwhelm us, especially those of which we remain unconscious. You may not have the strength in reserve to draw upon and finish a battle. Be aware of this challenge. There may also be
insensitivity to other's feelings. A lack of compassion, inner strength, or callousness leads to problems. Avoid over sensitivity.

Iodho-Yew

Arawn of the Underworld

transformation-Death-Immortality

Deities: The Weaving sisters. Arianrhod, Wheel Goddess of Time, Space, Fate,

Life, and Death. Badb, the Great Battle Crone.

Magickal Use: Magickal Staves. Bows. Poison. Skis. Healing (clearing away old negative influences). Releasing mental and emotional energy in preparation for new ideas, attitudes and visions. Poisoning Weapons.

Attributes: Color: Blood-Red, or Dark Green-Brown. Class: Chieftain. Herb: Bryony. Animal: Spider.

Tree: The station of the Yew is the last day of the year, the Eve of the Winter Solstice. The Yew is one of the five magickal trees of Ireland. The Yew is a perfect symbol of eternity. It's wood is extremely hard and the trees themselves live to great ages. It is also a powerful symbol of life and death because it is an evergreen tree, alive when all else is dead around it; yet it is poisonous for its fruit can cause death. The Fir is the Womb of Silver Pain and the Yew is the Tomb of Leaden Grief.

Expression: This is the essence of the self, that which is inherited from the ancestral past. It is the eternal root of the self. This becomes the central reference point by which time and life are measured. This reference point by which time and life are measured. This reference point is also the ultimate measure of passage of the soul from life to life. Often the outward manifestation of this will be the innate talents or abilities passed from one generation to another, often skipping one or more generations.

Divination: Iodho refers to total transformation or sudden movement of some kind. There are powerful influences at work. Forces of past and destiny are coming into play. There is a need to accept inevitable events, changes and death. Here, death is understood as a kind of total transformation from one state of being to another. This is very often fraught with discomfort and a sense of loss. But the changes are unavoidable. If, however, these
transformations are experienced in a conscious state, they will be seen and understood for what they are. There is a high likelihood that this Ogham will indicate that there is either ignorance of a certain forthcoming
transformation, or it is indicating that awareness of such a metamorphosis is immanent. Spiritual understanding will be transformed, allowing you to see the patterns affecting your life. Need to be in tune with the forces of transformation in order to be a master of one's own fate. Complete change in life direction.

The Challenge of the Yew Ogham is the inner feeling of loss and sorrow which often accompanies transformations of all kinds. There will be grief to be worked through before the change will be fully understood. Depression and fatalism are a threat. Feelings of powerlessness make a situation difficult to deal with. THE LOWER TEMPLE

The previous sections dealt with the Temple primarily in its relation to the macrocosmic world. The Servient squares were considered only in their formation as the floor, and were largely ignored otherwise. But they can also be grouped to form altars of the four Lesser Angles within the Temple.

The Lesser Angles of the Tablets represent the microcosm within the Enochian system. They reflect in miniature the symbolism of the Six conjoined with the Four that is the keynote of each Tablet as a whole, and can be thought of as expressing the lesser poles of Tiphereth-Malkuth within the larger polarity of Kether-Malkuth expressed by the entire Tablet.

To construct the altar of a Lesser Angle, each Servient square of the Lesser Angle is assigned to a water-aspect cube measuring one unit on each side. The four cubes for each row of Servient squares are grouped into a larger square, in the same way as was done for the Kerubic pillars in the original design. These larger squares are then stacked on top of each other in the same order as in the Tablet. This produces a shape two units square and four units high, the relative dimensions of the standard double-cube altar of the universe.

When the Lesser Angle is to be dealt with as part of the larger 6-and-4 pattern of the Temple, the altars can be placed either inside or outside the Temple proper.

In either case, they are placed on the diagonal line extending from the center of the Temple through the pillar of the Lesser Angle. When placed inside the Temple, they should be positioned on the four central squares of their quarter.

This puts them directly under the Tiphereth square of the Sephirotic cross of the Lesser Angle. When placed outside the Temple, they should be positioned at a distance from the pillar equal to the pillar's distance from the center of the Temple.

The altars are charged by first invoking the Sephirotic Angels of the Lesser Angle and then invoking the Servient Angels, starting with the bottom and working upwards. As the angels are invoked, the Sephirotic cross in the ceiling of the Temple should be felt drawing power up out of the earth through the altar.

As the power reaches the top of the altar, it should be seen welling upwards and outwards in a perpetually-unfolding lotus, or a peacock's tail, brilliant with light and color. The energies should strive intensely upwards towards the cross, and a corresponding pull downwards should be felt in the cross. The attraction of the altar for the cross should be so intense that, if the Kerubic pillars were not truly immovable, the two would crash together.

Since each Lesser Angle is a microcosm, it can be used independently of the rest of the Tablet. A study of Dee's model invocations and the powers he attributes to the Lesser Angles indicates that all of the truly "ELEMENTAL" magick in the Enochian system lies in the use of the Lesser Angles as free units, which is the magick of the Son and Daughter.

The altars for independent use are formed by starting with the basic altar mentioned above. The Sephirotic cross is built of fire-aspect cubes oriented with their empty faces as top and bottom, It is visualized standing upright, with its four lowest cubes interpenetrating the four cubes in each row of the altar. The six upper cubes project above the top of the altar. The vertical edges of the vertical arm of the cross will be aligned with the centers of the four columns of cubes making up the altar.

The Kerubic names appear as four fire-aspect cubes laid horizontally and connected by their empty faces. This row of cubes is above the top of the altar at a distance of four units. It should feel as if it is held there by pressure from forces radiating upwards from the Sephirotic cross.

To charge this second form of the altar, begin by invoking the Sephirotic names.

As the names are vibrated, fire should be visualized pouring down from infinity and filling the cross with light. Its outline glows, and a fiery beam forms in the vertical arm, with lesser beams projecting from the cubes of the horizontal arm.

The Servient names are invoked next, starting at the bottom, and the water- aspect cubes of each row should well up with force, in response to the energies of the cross. Finally, the Kerubic name is invoked. It rides upon the forces radiating up from the cross, and as its power appears it first forms a star with four arms radiating horizontally, with a distinctly metallic appearance. The Kerubic angel's power goes outward and down from these arms, forming a transparent crystal shell around the altar and cross.

When considered independently, the Lesser Angles each represent the perfection or transubstantiation of matter by the force of the spirit. The cross is the spirit, the altar is the base matter, and the kerub is the transformed matter.

Or it could be said that the altar is the ore, the cross is the heat, and the Kerubs are the refined metals. In another aspect, they represent the raising of the Daughter to the Mother's seat by the influence of the Son. And in another aspect they are the means by which the Six is anchored to the Four.

Innumerable occult symbols are full or partial correspondences to the energy relations expressed in the Lesser Angles. The sword in the stone, the cross on the mount, the Rose Cross, the Sacred Heart (IN ITS ESOTERIC INTERPRETATIONS), the cup and dagger, the King Enthroned and Crowned, and the transformation of IHVH into IHShVH are among the more immediately relevant examples. Any of these, or many others, would be suitable to rituals involving the Lesser Angles.

Excerpts from two dictations describe the initiatory symbolism of the altars and lower Temple. The first was given by Atapa, Sephirotic Angel of Fire of Water.

The second was given by sources that did not identify themselves.

[This section was preceded by a description of how the altars are formed. -

B.R.]

"Thus in each Tablet's Temple, there are four altars, one to each of the sub- angles. From the top of each of these altars springs a fountain of light, of sixteen streams, which shoot upwards in an inner cluster of four streams, and an outer cluster of twelve. Thus is each temple lit by four lamps of devotion."

"It should be obvious why I have been the one to reveal this to you, o mage. For are not the forces of fire in water the forces of Mars, who is of the Sixth Ray, called the Ray of Devotion, among the planets? 1

"The two forms of the Servient squares, as first the floor and second the altars of the temple, show the two aspects of the devotional force. In its early stages, when god is still seen as an object outside the self, it generates that form of devotion which will brook no argument with its own way of seeing. Ye see this often in the evangelical sects, who are specifically devoted to the development of this force in the lowest types of man, those who are under the control of their emotional natures. (Though those who like cheap thrills are also attracted.)

"It also shows itself in the intense spirituality shown by most persons in their teenage years, when they become concerned with the larger meanings of things, but as yet lack the capacity to deal with such issues in an intelligent manner.

Devotion is the development of the emotional capacity to its natural limits, and thus it shows itself so strongly at that age when all recapitulate that stage of their spiritual development.

"At the same time, this force is extremely combative in its lower phases. It cares not for reason. It only cares for the object of devotion, that that object not be sullied in the bearer-of-devotion's perceptions. He must protect that object at any cost, and thus he (OR SHE) becomes angry, unreasoning, physically or emotionally violent when it is threatened.

"Thus such types have their natural place in the world, although ofttimes they are given far too much for their own good, simply because they are so persistent in their devotion to their object of worship. Recognize that such have their place, but that it is but one stop on the path, and must be left again in order to pass on to true gnosis.

"The focusing of the emotional nature onto a spiritual object, such as Jesus, or Mohammed, or Big Daddy "GOD", or Mumbo-Jumbo God of the Congo for that matter, causes the gathering of the lower forces, those forces that control the uninitiated man, into a coordinated grouping. As we have here gathered the squares of the floor of the temple, and built of them an altar. Those gathered forces form the receptacle, the urn or altar, the grail, into which the light of the consciousness of the soul, the lower aspect of the Holy Guardian Angel, can enter. And this altar expresses that light in all of its forces, so that they rise upwards in streams as lamps for the temple.

"It is the fixity of the devotion that causes this change. For devotion is the lowest of the aspects of Will, and therefore is it the keynote of the worlds in which the uninitiated man lives. Eventually this focus is so intense that it causes the light of the soul to be drawn down, bringing with it the first true knowledge of the spirit.

The consciousness focused in the emotional body is raised up for a time and absorbed into the consciousness of the soul, before returning to its own plane.

And the soul lights its way from there on until their union, when the light of the greater sun, the light of the Crown, takes its place in life completely.

"The path from the lower to the middle aspect is one that seems to take the man away from his soul for a while. The intellectual aspect and the aspect of the integrated personality and its values must also be developed, or the man will not be able to stay within the higher worlds once he gets there. The lower bodies provide the seat or throne for his conscious soul, and the seat must stand on all four legs, not just the two of earth and air.

"A warrior must have his armor complete. If he go to a tourney wearing just his arm and leg armor, but with his head and breast bare, then he can not expect but that he will fall when he meets the lion in combat.2 Yet surely, ye say, the lion must overcome all eventually, so better quickly than slowly. But see ye, if the prey be weak, and easily conquered, and without meat upon its bones, then the lion might not deign to consume it, but will spit it out and leave it for the vultures and jackals. Just so with the man who dishonors his soul by seeking to give it less than his whole being, fully developed, strong in all its aspects.

[preceded by a summary of the Temple's structure as given earlier. The attribution of the paths to the Tree of Life mentioned below follow Achad's system. -B.R.]

In this current vision, we see the Temple as it relates to the personality in its uninitiated and initiated phases. This addition completes the formation, and perfects the geometric symbolism of the Temple.

The floor of the Temple is the personality in its uninitiated aspect. Few are those who live entirely within the world whose energies are the floor. Such are those who live entirely in terms of their sensations of the external world, never considering anything at all inside themselves. They are the so-called "NATURAL MAN". Most of the human race is far beyond this condition, and are at least in the process of building the altars out of the stone of the floor.

When the natural man first begins to see beyond the facade of the outward world, and to wonder at the origins and nature of the things beyond it, his perceptions are vague, changing, like the airs of the path of Aleph. He looks for something that is invisible to him. He aspires, as most now do, to become more than he is in some fashion. But he lacks the experience and judgment to know truth from falsity in that realm, and so he attaches his aspirations to many an unworthy object. Like the Fool, he is constantly in danger of falling over a figurative cliff, since he cares not the form his aspiration takes, but only that it have a form and become real to him.

This is as it should be. The act of aspiration itself is what is important, not the object it is attached to. Aspiration begins to sensitize him to his inner sensations, which lead him to a perception of the emotional-astral planes, which are his first goal on the path. He draws himself up out of the Earth, and into the Air, by his desire.

In the process, he draws up behind him his connections to his manifest being.

Slowly they re-assemble themselves into the basic form of the altar, containing the same energies, but in a more concentrated form. Like a clever juggler, he has thrown the elements of himself up into the air, and caused them to land in a neat stack.

As he moves into the sphere of Yesod, he begins to understand the nature of worship, of devotion to the ideal. He seeks to reflect the ideal in himself, attaching it to himself by his devotion, in the path of Luna. He expects the object to return his worship, to show the power of Love in that object's particular form.

He seeks to make himself a vessel for that force, through the path of Cancer, and he seeks to manifest that ideal in the world through the path of Daleth.

The juggler continues to move the elements of the perceived self around, looking for a form that fits the ideal. He continually compares the ideas that come to him against the response to his worship that he felt in Yesod. His ideas become closer and closer approximations of his feelings and religious experiences. As this happens, the force of emotion supports them increasingly, until he becomes the dogmatist, the priest.3

Finally, in Netzach, he perceives for the first time that all of his dogma is not revealed truth, but merely the summation of his own manifest nature. It is a very attractive idea to believe that the integrated personality is the height of creation, and many decide to stay in Netzach for extended periods. Thus Netzach is called False Victory, triumph cut short.

But if he does not stay, he perceives this reflection4 in the path of Mem, by the light of Tiphereth pouring down into the astral nature. In the path of Gemini, he perceives the inherent dualism of all intellectual constructs, that all systems of ideas must end in either paradox, infinite regressions, or tautologies. In the path of Leo he perceives the soul behind the outward self in its fullness, and the manner in which it enlivens the lower bodies and creates a projection of itself in the values the personality has expressed.

He then uses the force of the path of Virgo to separate himself from his own thinking, to weed out those thoughts that are not an expression of his soul. This is the path of doubt, by which the dualisms of the intellect are overcome. The force of Libra, he uses to balance his personal values against those of a more general nature, also seeking to remove from those values anything that is not of the soul.

Through these two paths, and the received force of the soul in Mem, he rises into Tiphereth and the middle triad of the Tree of Life, where he becomes an adept. His path from this point on has already been described in the previous instruction.

In the Temple, the altar of each sub-element is directly under the Tiphereth square of that angle's Sephirotic Cross. The light of the soul, the sun, as it is projected into the sub-element, draws the forces of the lower being into alignment in the form of the altar. It then draws out of each of those forces its spiritual essence, so that the fountain of light springs up from the top of the altar.

When fully invoked in the Temple, each altar will give the sensation of unremitting upward striving, trying to pull down the forces above that form the place of the gods in the temple. The forces of the gods will seem to strive downward in response. But the pillars of the Temple hold them in place, so that the Temple does not collapse from the force of attraction.

FOOTNOTES

1 The so-called Sixth Ray rules the plane in Alice Bailey's system equivalent to Yesod in the Cabala. Both systems agree that this is the plane of the emotional nature. Mars connects to Yesod through the functions of the corresponding chakra. What is being spoken of here is a re-direction of the sexual-emotional energies to a higher purpose. In this system, devotion is considered to be the lowest aspect of the Will.

2 The lion in this instance is the soul in Tiphereth.

3 In the path of Vav, connecting Hod and Netzach.

4 That is, the reflection of the true soul in the integrated personality.
