Angel Prayers For Specific Needs

I am not personally a big fan of pre-written prayers, however, I can see how they might have value. When we don't trust our own ability to communicate, it does help to have a script - to have an idea of what to say, and/or how to say it. Also, I find that in times of deep stress a pre-written prayer can become a mantra, a chant, a bridge of sorts. So, it is with that in mind, I'm offering this selection of prayers to connect with multiple divinities for a variety of specific needs.
Because there are quite a number of them, I decided to post each one separately, with a list of links here so the ones that interest you will be easy to find.
Why so many prayers? I included some that I wanted to try, and a few others because prosperity can be many different things depending on the circumstances.
* Abundance
* Finding Your Life's Purpose
* Courage
* Resolving Conflict
* Clear Communication with God
* Healing a Child
* Healing a Pet
* Healing For Oneself
* Addictions and Cravings
* Clairvoyance
* Connecting With the Fairies
The prayers themselves are just suggestions - they simply represent one of the many ways to invoke the dieties who oversee the situation with which you need help. Feel free to modify and change them, to make them your own.

Aphrodisiac Of The Day Myrrh

"L" is for "Love" - and also labdanum and licorice - a couple of aromatics we can demonstrate affection with. However, labdanum is not easily obtainable and has very little other use besides perfume (not to mention very sticky and frustrating to work with if you are just starting out); and licorice, despite being recently found as the most arousing scent for women (along with, ahum, cucumber...) - technically speaking it is more of a flavour with a strange sweet sensation, whose fragrance is borrowed from star anise and aromatic seeds such as anise and fennel.
Therefore, we'll quickly proceed to the letter "M", where both musk and myrrh assert their aphrodisiac properties over men and women alike. And we'll further narrow down our investigation to that of myrrh, since musk is not legally obtained throughout the world and have become a nearly extinct perfume material.
Myrrh comes from Commiphora myrrha, a desert shrub that grows in North East Africa and South West Asia - in other words the areas surrounding the Red Sea (Yemen, Somalia and Ethiopia). When the bushes' bark is injured, they produce tear-shaped gum oleoresin which is harvested by the nomads (they also make their own incisions in the bark to produce more resin).
Interestingly, the Greek myth of Myrrha tells the tale of a the young beautiful daughter of the king of Cyprus (his identity is not entirely consistent), who refused all her suitors since she was deeply in love with her father. Devastated with her forbidden love, she decides to take her own life, only to be found by her nurse. In order to save her life, the nurse promised Myrrha to help her pursue and seduce her father, which she did on the next opportunity, keeping Myrrha's identity in the dark (literally). The affair took place over several days (or months, depending on which version of the myth), until one day the father's curiousity got the best of him and he hid a lamp in the room in order to reveal her identity. When realizing it was his own daughter he was having an affair with - he drew his sword to kill her. Myrrha fled and ran away, saving her own life, as well as the unborn child she was carrying - her own father's son. She wondered in the deserts of Ethiopea for nine month, until it was time to give birth. Begging the gods for help they took mercy on her and turned her into a tree, who shortly after split open and with the aid of the goddess of childbirth gave birth to Adonis. The tree's resin are Myrrha's tears, the only remainder of her human form.
Myrrh is steam distilled and also is alcohol extracted to produce a so-called "absolute". The oil resinifies easily with exposure to air and is a clear, orange-amber colour, and a bitter, rubber like aroma (very much like balloons), that also has strong medicinal connotations as it was used in preparations for soaking dressing for injuries. Wine mixed with myrrh was given as an analgesic, and also to highten one's consciousness for prayer and meditation. It was given to convicts before their execution. But myrrh's odour profile does not end with the bitter-rubberiness. It reveals diffusive, warm, dry woodsiness and a peculiar sweetness that has depth and sophistication rather than being sugary or balsamic (aka vanilla-like). It is a component in countless perfumes, though its influences are often subtle and it has never asserted it's spot in this family as obviously as some more aggressive materials (i.e.: patchouli or cloves).
There are other
Myrrh is not an obvious aphrodisiac. It is far better known for its significance in religious rituals as well as it's medicinal applications. Myrrh is the first ancient resin found in Sumer that was used as incense, perfume and medicine. In ancient Egypt, it was burnt in temples at high noon, and is associated with Isis - the lunar goddess of fertility, and the most important feminine archetype in Egyptian mythology. While frankincense was associated with Rah, the sun god, and considered to have a a masculine, or projective energy; myrrh represents female, or receptive, energy. Myrrh is also one of the key elements in Kyphi - the complex Egyptian incense with 16 or more aromatics that is considered to be the most ancient perfume of them all (Kyphi was worn as personal perfume, burnt as incense and ingested for its medicinal and therapeutic qualities).
Another known use for myrrh in ancient Egypt was in the mummification process - this is what was used to stuff the stomachs of the deceased Pharaohs, along with cassia. Myrrh is mentioned in the New Testament first as a gift to baby Jesus from the three magi; and towards the end of his human life it was brought by the three women at the foot of the cross to ease his suffering (another reference to myrrh's analgesic properties).
In the Torah, myrrh is one of the key ingredients to prepare the holy incense burnt in the temple as well as the holy anointing oil for all the temple's tools and altars. However, surprisingly enough, it is in the Jewish holy scripts where myrrh has the most erotic and suggestive connotations - most notably in the Song of Solomon (Song of Songs or Canticles) where it is mentioned seven times:
"A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts" (Song of Solomon 1:13) - a chunk of myrrh would be worn as a pendant in its native desert countries where the water is rare - and as the sweat streams down one's neck, it will melt some of the resin and give its wearer a cleansing scent. It might also be one of the references that points to Queen of Sheba as the female character in this piece (she also repeatedly refers to herself as dark-skinned).
"I arose to open to my beloved, and my hands dripped with myrrh, my fingers with liquid myrrh, on the handles of the bolt" (Song of Solomon, 5:5).
"I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved" (5:1)
"His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh" (5:13).
And there is no more puzzling and elaborate beauty ritual than the one that Queen Esther had to go through to be accepted by King Achasverosh:
"... for so were fulfilled the days of their anointing: six months with oil of myrrh and six months with sweet fragrances..." (Megillat Esther, aka Book of Esther, Chapter II, 12)
Like frankincense, myrrh resin can be easily obtained in many church stores, and you can burn it on charcoal in a most primordial way that will connect you to how this precious perfume was used thousands of years ago.
For seductive applications of myrrh oil, make your own anointing body oil by placing 7 drops of myrrh in 1 tablespoon (1/2oz or 15ml) of cold pressed almond or olive oil. Use for a slow and sensual full-body massage with your lover, proceeding from head to toe.
Aphrodisiac perfumes with a prominent myrrh note: Azuree de Soleil/Bronze Goddess (Estee Lauder), Bois d'Hiver, Champaca (Ormonde Jayne), Dark Season (Neil Morris), Epices d'Hiver (DSH Perfumes), Film Noir, GiGi, Incensi (Lorenzo Villoresi), l'Ether (IUNX), l'Eau Trois (Diptyque), Immortal Mine (Cherry Bomb Killer Perfumes), Incense Pure (Sonoma Scent Studio), Opium and Opium Fleur de Shanghai (YSL), Mahjoun (DSH Perfumes) Parfum de Maroc (Aftelier), Le Parfum d'Ida (Neil Morris), Piper Nigrum (Lorenzo Villoresi), Razala, Sacred (Ava Luxe), S'exual (Michael Germain), Song of Songs, Vintage Gardenia with Cardamom and Myrrh (Jo Malone), Untitled No. 1 (Yosh), to name just a few...

CHAPTER III
ST. PATRICK'S BREASTPLATESing with the Understanding
G.R. Balleine (1954)
"I bind unto myself today"
ONE hymn in our books may be a hundred years older than Fortunatus. It is known as St. Patrick's Breastplate, and, if he was really the author, it must have been written in the middle of the fifth century. The tradition that attributes it to him is by no means incredible. Its language is so extremely archaic that some of the words baffle the best Irish scholars, and its background fits the age of the early missions. Ireland was evidently still largely heathen. The writer prays for deliverance from the black laws of paganism, the incantations of false prophets, and the hostile men who bar his course. He himself has not entirely shaken off his awe of the Druids, and asks to be delivered from their spells.
St. Patrick's home was in South Wales; but somewhere about the year 400, when he was a lad of sixteen, he was kidnapped by Irish raiders, and for six years worked as a slave in Ireland, and so learnt to speak Irish. He then escaped to Gaul on a ship exporting Irish wolf-hounds, and entered a monastery. In middle life he began to feel that God was calling him to return to Ireland as a missionary, and with great difficulty he persuaded the Church authorities to let him go.
He was almost the first missionary to try to convert barbarians. Hitherto nearly all the triumphs of the Church had been won inside the Roman Empire. In Asia Minor, Egypt and North Africa, in Greece and Italy and Spain, in Gaul and Britain the people had been for centuries comparatively civilized. There were towns and roads, law courts and schools, and
One feature of Irish paganism was the immense importance attached to charms and incantations. The repetition of certain rhymes was supposed to ward off every danger. The missionaries took advantage of this, and encouraged their converts to learn hymns for the same purpose. These hymns were called "Loricas", the Latin word for "breastplates." Our present hymn is one of them. Its ancient Irish preface declares: "This is a breastplate for the protection of body and soul. Whoever sings it every day with pious thought of God, devils shall not stand before him. It will save him from every poison, shield him from sudden death, and, when he dies, it will safeguard his soul."
Several English translations exist, but most hymnals have chosen the excellent one by Mrs. Alexander, wife of the Bishop of Derry, whose children's hymns, "There is a green hill" and "Do no sinful action" are known everywhere. In the original the opening line is "Atomriug indiu niurt tren togairm Trinoit". A literal translation of the first verse runs: "I bind unto myself today [or, according to some scholars, "Today I arise in] that mighty force, the invocation of the Trinity. I believe that the Creator of all creation is Three in One and One in Three."
These missionaries did not dodge the more difficult articles of their Creed, They preached no vague shadowy Deity; they made no attempt to identify their God with the local Gods of the Irish. They preached inflexibly the God of the Creeds, Who was Three in One and One in Three. But the soundest of Creeds is useless unless you act on it, as useless as a railway timetable to a man who never enters a train. So Patrick taught the Irish, not only to believe in God, but every day to place their lives in His keeping:
"I bind unto myself today"
"The strong Name of the Trinity."
John McNeil, the Scottish Evangelist, used to say that Religion first became real to him, when, as a boy lying in bed, he heard his quarryman father say every morning as he started for work, "I go forth in the strength of the Lord."
But the Triune God has been "manifested in the flesh" in the Person of Jesus Christ; so these Irish were taught to remind themselves of all they had learnt about Him. The Anglican Catechism says, "Rehearse the Articles of thy Belief. Herse" was Old English for "a harrow." To herse a field meant to harrow it, to turn the clods over and over. To re-herse was to harrow it again. To rehearse our Creed is to turn each clause over in our mind, till nothing remains buried and dormant, Christ's incarnation, His baptism. His death on the Cross, "His bursting from the spiced tomb," His ascension, "His coming at the Day of Doom." This is what Patrick trained his converts to do.
The next verse reminds them of the tremendous background behind their Religion, the ministry of Angels, the preaching of the Apostles, the death of the Martyrs, the "good deeds done" by innumerable faithful Saints.
Then the hymn looks in a new direction. Irish Paganism was Nature Worship. Christianity might seem to be rashly challenging the stupendous powers of Nature. If you joined the Church, the thunder and lightning, the storm and the tempest, would all be leagued against you. Patrick emphatically denied this. He asserted that the God of the Creeds was the God of Nature. Every Christian could claim as allies "the star-lit heaven, the glorious sun," the deep salt sea," and so on.
Then the thought turns back again Godwards. Someone has said: "The value of a Religion depends entirely on the sufficiency of its idea of God." These Irish rehearsed in their minds all that their God would do for them; He would hold them up, so that they would be safe; His Eye would watch over them; His Ear would ever be open to their prayers; He would teach, and guide, and shield. And, the hymn adds, they would need His help against "the snares of sin, the natural lusts that war within, false words of heresy, knowledge that defiles," and many another danger.
The seventh verse in the Irish contains some lines which Mrs. Alexander in her English version has rather watered down, lines which remind us that they were written in the fifth century, not the twentieth, in days when Paganism was still powerful, and even Christians were still a trifle afraid of its wizardry. In the original Irish they claim God's help against "all the wiles of idolatry, the spells of women" (for women were supposed to have knowledge of which mere men knew nothing), "the spells of the smiths" (the wandering tinkers who also had jealously guarded secrets), and, most dangerous of all, the awful "spells of the Druids."
In one museum is an ancient map of the world on which the maker has covered all the unexplored parts of Asia and Africa with warnings, "Here be Dragons! Here be Gryffons! ' " ' Here be Vampires! But followers of St. Francis used that map in planning their missionary journeys, and they scratched out these alarming inscriptions and substituted in every case, "Here be God!"
Faith in God removes all fears, baseless or well-founded. Bishop Westcott said: "A Christian is one who throws himself with absolute confidence on the Living Lord." This is the spirit which the missionaries instilled into their Irish converts.
Then the hymn changes its beat, both in the Irish and English. The Irish here is sp very archaic that lines 5and 6 puzzle every expert. Some would translate them: Christ in the Fort. Christ in the Chariot-seat. Christ on the Poop." But, whichever translation is right, what a charming picture this verse gives us of the Comrade Christ, Christ our daily Companion, whatever we do!
The closing verse returns to the thought with which we began: "I bind unto myself the strong Name of the. Trinity." Taken as a whole the hymn is a magnificent study in Faith. The Irish name for it is "Faed Fiada", the Deer's cry, a reference to the Psalm, "Like as the deer desireth the water brooks, so longeth my soul after Thee, O God." This suggests how we should use it. We too are beset with dangers, and our only hope of safety lies in "the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit." We need to bind to ourselves all the powers of the Blessed Trinity.
No one knows to what tune the Irish words were sung; but most

of the Year

LAST QUARTER MOON - The Moon is 23 days from the New Moon and is 270 - 315 degrees ahead of the sum. As the waning Half Moon moves into a crescent shape this crescent shape will be facing westward to the realm of death. The power of the moon is now waning, being drawn inside for later use. Cast spells now requiring resolution or for something to be concluded. The waning moon is used for banishing magick, for ridding oneself of addictions, illness or negativity. The last quarter moon rises around midnight and sets around noon. Astrologically, the Moon is "square "to the Sun. She is visible from the time she rises until she sets. The Last Quarter Moon is the HARVEST phase - the moon plant gives her life so that others may continue theirs. Keywords for the Last Quarter phase are: realignment, revision, integration and cleansing. It is the time in a lunar cycle to take closing action, to follow-up and complete the activities begun at the New phase. During this phase you become aware of what is and is not working with respect to the achievement of your goal for this cycle. The movement is toward integration. Open to your success. MANIFEST YOUR GOAL. Be responsible. Those who are born during the Last Quarter phase have a powerful internal life of reflection and transformation. They can assume different roles while balancing their internal and external worlds.
MOON IN SAGITTARIUS - gets us moving, around the globe, into the woods, or in our minds; we need to explore, hike, and dance the night away. It loans us a philosophical perspective, and an easy rapport with the wild natural world. We speak directly, sometimes tactlessly. This transit brings out our inner-Artemis; we need to roam, to explore in body and in soul. Our curiosity intensifies. Check out untraveled territory and connect with the organic world. Have along talk with the animals in your garden. Maybe you can work the soil but of course you have to hold off the planting. The restless, enthusiastic Sagittarius loves adventure, change and motion. The moon in this sign is a time for philosophy, metaphysics, traveling, studying and freedom from responsibilities. Sagittarius brings the need to feel free of restrictions, and to be spontaneous. Her restless and independent nature wishes to explore and warm and friendly vibes make it a good time for seeing new places, encountering different people and relating to a changing environment. There is a tendency towards open, honest exchanges. Sagittarius also brings an interest in education, ethics, women's culture and seeing things from an idealistic viewpoint. With this moon transit comes the itch to travel, and this is the best sign for travel because conditions are most fortuitous. Moon in Sagittarius is the best time to work magick for publications, legal matters, travel and truth. Healing rituals of the liver, thighs or hips are also done at this time. Those born under a Sagittarius Moon are naturally restless, cheerful, and radically honest. They speak truth with little conflict because they speak uncharged with curiosity. They weave the web of connection between tribes, countries and species. Their challenge is to learn tact and to hold still and see a problem through, rather than seek a geographical cure.
TIU'S DAY - Mars Day - the Day Activity and Physicality, Passion and Desire - Action Day... This day's planetary influence brings with it the aggression, passion and strength of those of us who must fight for what we believe in. Colors for this day are red, black, scarlet and orange...
HOT STUFF CANDLE SPELL - Want to drive your lover crazy. This candle spell is meant to entice and tempt. The whole point of it is to add a little spark back into your relationship and to make you irresistible. In this spell you will be calling on Lilith (one of the deities for Tiu's Day), so prepare yourself for a good time. Please remember to be conscientious of this spell and only work this upon yourself so you and your lover can have a little fun.
Gather a red candle, a black candle and two candle holders. Sprinkle a dash of pepper and a pinch of allspice on the unlit candles (tea light candles work well). Arrange three snapdragons or three red roses in a vase. Repeat the following charm three times:
"As I light red and black candles for a hot and sexy spell "I now call on Lilith for passion and all will be well"Peppers and spice and snapdragons/red roses three "These will make me very enticing, so now must it be.
Close the spell with:
"For the good of all, with harm to none "May my love and I have a little fun!
Now, go and find your lover, give him/her a bewitching smile, and see what kind of reaction you get. [This spell comes from Ellen Dugan's "Book of Witchery "]

Book Review: Doublelife By Harold And Gayle Berman

/ 7:01 AM /
NOTE: I was not paid to review this book. It is an unbiased and objective review. If you have a book with Jewish or Israel At first, when I initially received the book, I did not quite know what to expect. I thought it would be some cheesy story how an intermarried couple found Judaism or it would be a book about how intermarriage is so bad. While all that might be true, I almost found it difficult, initially, to pick up the book as I did not feel the need to read a book against intermarriage; it does not seem to be such an urgent or pressing matter to me. It is to the Jewish world at large, but I thought how interesting would I find such a book.
It turns out that that is not what DoubleLife is about. As soon as I picked it up, I had a hard time putting it down. DoubleLife is both an easy read and a story that draws you in. (It did take me a while to finish it, but that is despite the book being an easy read - more because I don't have much reading time available and generally am reading 2-3 The Berman's story is told through a series of letters to each other. I do not know if they lived their life this way - sending actual letters to each other and these are those letters, or if it is just the style in which they chose to write the book. I like the style - there is a certain intimacy that can be found underlying in the tone of the letters that makes this different than a normal retelling of a story.
The book describes their life together, from when they met on a blind date, over a span of about 21 years. The bulk of the book is really the first 12-14 years, with the final pages being the final 6-8 years.
The book goes into great detail how they dealt with many of the issues that are common in interfaith couples, and they did not see religion as a issue, how they decided to approach the religion issue in their upcoming marriage, what they would do about children and the issue of two religions or one or none. Interestingly, despite their careers being largely within church walls, Gayle embraces [non-Orthodox] Judaism and Harold slowly but surely finds himself looking for more meaning within his Judaism.
DoubleLife takes the reader on the journey of Harold exploring his Judaism, with Gayle following along at her own speed, as they go from Reform temples to Conservative shuls and eventually to Orthodox shuls and communities and eventual conversion. The book does leave one wanting more. I had a lot of questions. there is a lot left out of the story - especially in the later part of the book as Gayle starts to consider conversion - I would have liked to know more of what she thought of the various mitzvos they started to keep along the way, usually led by Harold taking things on and then letting her know, how they decided to make aliyah to Israel (not even mentioned in the book), being non-Jewish while being thought of as a Jew and the conflicts that surely arose out of it, as well as other gaps that are in the story.. My only thought on that is that DoubleLife is more the story of the journey of an interfaith couple finding their way to Judaism and less the story of how they dealt with the details of Judaism. Maybe that can be the topic of another book!
Their story of finding Judaism was not the story of intellectual arguments, proving the church wrong, proving the Old Testament right. As a matter of fact, now that I think of it, they decided to reject Christianity almost out of hand, and they do not spend any time in the book criticizing Christianity or explaining what was wrong with it and why they chose Judaism. Despite their early rejection of Christianity, they did not embrace Judaism, at least not more than the cultural Judaism, so quickly. There is far more critique of the ambivalence of Reform Jews and of the lack of commitment of Conservative Jews than any actual critique of Christianity. Nor was it the story of being pulled in by one specific facet of Judaism or another. It is the story of a process they went through, how different events in their lives triggered the search for meaning and how they found that meaning by taking on themselves more and more Judaism, at times even creating conflict between them. One might say this is the story of their metamorphosis from being cultural Jews to being practicing Jews.
Don't read DoubleLife to learn the arguments against intermarriage, or to become convinced why the non-Jewish spouse in an interfaith marriage should convert. Read DoubleLife because it is a fascinating and enchanting tale of how an interfaith couple dealt with the challenges inherent in their relationship and found their path in life.

An Unprecedented Event In Poitiers

THE VERY BRIEF VIDEO SHOWS SCENES OF THE "OCCUPATION" OF THE MOSQUE.
CHRISTINE TASIN OF "RIPOSTE LA"iQUE" HAS SOME THOUGHTS ON TODAY'S UNPRECEDENTED EVENT IN THE HISTORIC AND SYMBOLIC CITY OF POITIERS:
THEY CHOSE A DATE CLOSE TO OCTOBER 25, 732, TO CRY OUT "ENOUGH!" BRAVO AND THANKS TO THE "G'eN'eRATION IDENTITAIRE".
ENOUGH OF ISLAM. ENOUGH ISLAMIZATION OF FRANCE. ENOUGH PUBLIC SUBSIDIES, DISGUISED AS CULTURAL PRETEXTS THROUGH LONG-TERM LEASES. ENOUGH OF ISLAMISTS WHO PROUDLY STRUT IN OUR COUNTRY WITH THE IDEA OF IMPOSING THEIR ARCHAIC AND BARBARIC WAYS ON US. (...)
BECAUSE THE POITIERS MOSQUE WAS THE DESIRE OF THE MUFTI WHO INITIATED ITS CONSTRUCTION AS REVENGE FOR THE MUSLIM DEFEAT OF 732:
"I HAVE BROUGHT THE HISTORY OF POITIERS INTO PROMINENCE. A PLACE OF WORSHIP AND OF PEACE ON THE RUINS OF THE BATTLE OF 732. A GREAT SYMBOL." (BOUBAKER EL HADJ AMOR, WHO OBTAINED FINANCING FOR THE MOSQUE)
LET'S HOPE THAT THIS PATRIOTIC INITIATIVE, THE FIRST OF SUCH DIMENSION, WILL BE FOLLOWED BY SO MANY OTHERS THAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO HOLD A REFERENDUM, SO THAT THE PEOPLE ALONE CAN DECIDE ON THE QUESTIONS OF IMMIGRATION AND ISLAM, WHICH HAVE BEEN IMPOSED ON US FOR DECADES, AGAINST OUR WILL. (...)
NOTE: A REFERENDUM IS ALWAYS A RISK. WHAT IF THE PEOPLE VOTED FOR ISLAM AS THE "SECOND" RELIGION OF FRANCE, AND FOR IMMIGRATION AS A "CHANCE POUR LA FRANCE?" THE FACT THAT THE "BLOC IDENTITAIRE" AND "RIPOSTE LA"iQUE" ARE WILLING TO RISK A REFERENDUM IMPLIES THEY FEEL THEY WILL WIN. BUT IS IT SO SURE? THE ENTIRE COMMUNIST/SOCIALIST/FEMINIST/ISLAMIST BLOC WOULD VOTE FOR ISLAM, AS WOULD SOME LIBERAL CATHOLICS.
IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER IF THE GOVERNMENT CHANGED ITS POSITION, RECOGNIZED ITS PAST COLLABORATION WITH ISLAM, AND RELEASED THE MEDIA FROM THE BONDAGE OF BEING THE FRENCH REPUBLIC'S PROPAGANDA MACHINE.
THAT WOULD BE A TRUE REVOLUTION, BUT WE KNOW IT IS A PIPE-DREAM.
FRENCH READERS MAY WANT TO REVIEW THIS OLDER "LE POST" ARTICLE ON POITIERS AND THE MUSLIM LEADERS WHO PROMOTED AND BUILT THE MOSQUE.

News Witches On Trial For Child Abuse
Posted by

This story in The Guardian distresses me a lot.
The story has the title 'White Witches' Abused Young Girls in Pagan Sex Rituals, Court Told, and is about two men being on trial for alleged sex abuse against Cornish children. It describes how two men, Peter Petrauske and Jack Kemp, claimed to be in a pagan group that gave children alcohol then made them undress.
I'm mentioning this news story because I am disgusted both at the alleged abuse, and at the fact that it brings genuine law-abiding pagans into disrepute.
As most readers of my blog are well aware, genuine Wiccan covens are adult-only groups. Normally only those over the age of 18 would be allowed to join a coven. In my experience, children would never be allowed to take part in any ritual involving nudity, nor would children be abused in any way.
If the allegations against these men are found to be true, then I hope they lock them up for a very long time. But I am also worried that this trial could give the wrong impression of what genuine Wiccans and normal pagans really do.
