When you are on a magical path, I believe coincidences are worth paying attention to. Here's one that happened to me.
Just as I was thinking I ought to start doing research for my talk on psychogeography at the Pagan Federation London Conference this August, I got the following email: "Dear Bad Witch, Please pardon this intrusion. Given your interest in psychogeography you might be interested to know that my new book On Walking(and accompanying essay 'Enchanted Things') is now available from Triarchy Press."
It wasn't a book I had been aware of previously, but it was about psychogeography. Perfect. The author, Phil Smith, also kindly offered me a review copy - and I enjoyed reading it very much.
In On Walking,Phil Smith describes a psychogeographical walk he made in Suffolk following a route taken by another author, W.G. Sebald, for his 1995 book The Rings Of Saturn.
I've never read The Rings of Saturn, but I don't think that mattered. On Walking is not just an homage to a famous 20th century writer obsessed with the horrors of war and the decay of civilisation. What Phil Smith offers is part travelogue, part visionary journey and part tutorial in how to do psychogeography as well as a being a literary journey. And the English coastal towns he travelled through have inspired many writers apart from Sebald, including MR James, Arthur Machen and HP Lovecraft - all writers I am familiar with.
Phil Smith says: "On the eve of setting out I read Arthur Machen's The Terror,the narrative of which briefly crosses my own intended route at Dunwich Heath. Machen's story is the source for horror master H. P. Lovecraft's fictional 'Dunwich'. Lovecraft transposes the town, a large East Anglian port mostly swept away by the sea in the early mediaeval era, to Massachusetts for The Dunwich Horror,one of the core stories of his Cthulhu mythos."
Psychogeography is often described as a study of the "effects of the geographical environment, consciously organised or not, on the emotions and behaviour of individuals." That study is usually done by walking - or "drifting" - around an area and paying attention into its atmosphere and ambiance. It is an important technique employed in On Walking, although Phil Smith calls it "mythogeography". He describes mythogeography as "...a hybrid of ideas, tactics and strategies. It embraces both respectable (academic, scientific, culturally validated) and non-respectable (Fortean, antiquarian, mystical, fictional) knowledges."
He offers tips on how to approach mythogeographic walks interspersed with descriptions of his own "great walk". These are methods of disrupting our everyday sense of the world around us and helping us to see things differently. They include picking a theme, going somewhere previously unknown, going alone or just with one other person, freeing oneself from usual walking habits and, sensibly, wearing good footwear.
On Walking works on many different levels. As the description on the Triararchy Press website, says:
On one level On Walking... describes an actual, lumbering walk from one incongruous B and B to the next, taking in Dunwich, Lowestoft, Southwold, Covehithe, Orford Ness, Sutton Hoo, Bungay, Halesworth and Rendlesham Forest - with their lost villages, Cold War testing sites, black dogs, white deer and alien trails.
On a second level it sets out a kind of walking that the author has been practising for many years and for which he is quietly famous. It's a kind of walking that burrows beneath the guidebook and the map, looks beyond the shopfront and the Tudor facade and feels beneath the blisters and disgruntlement of the everyday. Those who try it report that their walking [and their whole way of seeing the world] is never quite the same again. And the Suffolk walk described in this book is an exemplary walk, a case study - this is exactly how to do it.
Finally, on a third level, On Walking... is an intellectual tour de force, encompassing Situationism, alchemy, jouissance, dancing, geology, psychogeography, 20th century cinema and old TV, performance, architecture, the nature of grief, pilgrimage, World War II, the Cold War, Uzumaki, pub conversations, synchronicity, somatics and the Underchalk.On Walkingis thought-provoking and extremely well written. If you are a psychogeographer, a keen rambler or just an armchair explorer you will enjoy it. Information is power, and truth is the vehicle to empowerment. Biblical truth is like a Hummer that can simply roll over anything that stands in its way as opposition.
Lately, more than ever, I seem to be extremely concerned by the thought that there are still so many people in this world who are being deceived by men on the most trivial issues.
It stands to reason that if they are deceived that easily by mere mortals, then they'll be no match for the Antichrist when he shows up with all his "signs and lying wonders" (2 THESSALONIANS 2:9).
This is what motivates me to continue to expose all the evil schemes that exist in this world, but particularly as they exist in various forms of entertainment and symbols found in pop culture. If we can learn to look at everything in the world around us with a discerning eye, and through a prophetic lens that's consistent with a Biblical worldview, then maybe we'll be better prepared when the Great Deception greets us with open arms.
My heart aches at the thought of the deceived elect!
MARK 13:22 (KJV) "For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, even the elect." (emphasis mine)
MATTHEW 24:24 (KJV) "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, they shall deceive the very elect. "(emphasis mine)
One important note though is that the elect will be deceived by the coming Antichrist ONLY "if it were possible" for that to happen. Maybe it's only possible if we do nothing now to learn how to protect ourselves. Yes, this invariably means learning how to put on our spiritual armor and how to wield our spiritual weapons of war, but what if it also meant learning how to spot the "signs and wonders" that will be used - are being used - against us (like all this occult symbolism that intends to infect our hearts and minds) so that you can be on guard against such things?
So, we arrive at the next study in a series that seeks to put certain individuals on our prophetic radar. Just in case. A recent political cartoon in "The Buffalo News" brilliantly captured the sentiments shared by most Christians (and secularists too I think) following the events of the past few days:
That cartoon also made me recall a 2-part study I wrote way back in December 2008 (almost a full year ago) regarding our common view of the coming Antichrist, and this notion of the current U.S. President "possibly" fulfilling that infamous role. Specifically, it had to do with whether or not the Antichrist will rise to power "by peace" and a peace treaty of some sort (as is commonly believed), or "by war":

I went back and re-read those articles written at a time when I was still getting my feet wet (spiritually speaking). We might want to revisit that again in light of the current debate as to whether or not President Barack Obama is fulfilling ancient end times prophecies, or if he's merely a forerunner clearing a path for the genuine article - the real deal - who will arrive to deceive even the elect.
Central to that initial study was the Septuagint version of the Old Testament. What are your thoughts on the Septuagint? Does it have any merit? If so, why do you feel that way? If not, why not? If it's the former, then we better start re-thinking our stance on the subject for obvious reasons.
At the same time, we need to always temper this kind of discussion with prayerful consideration. For all we know, the man who announced that President Obama had won the Nobel Peace Prize - THORBJOERN JAGLAND - could be that vile Man of Sin spoken of in the Scriptures. Don't laugh.
What's that? You don't know anything about that man or even remember his name from last week Friday? That's ok. He's a relatively "obscure" European politician to us Americans (nothing prophetically significant about that now is there?) who just happened to "make himself known to the rest of the world publicly for the first time via this announcement" (he was shown on practically every television news broadcast that day) only a few days after taking on an important and powerful new role that could definitely have a global impact. Oh yeah, this also happened at the same time as NASA's Moon mission that definitely exhibited some strong occult mega-ritual symbolism.
At least there was ONE JOURNALIST who felt the need to do some research on this man:
Who is Thorbjorn Jagland? Here's an excerpt:
From 1999 through 2008, Jagland was vice president of Socialist International. What's that? It's exactly what the name suggests - an international organization of socialist groups who advocate for far left policies. It also boasts of "consultative status" with the United Nations.
Its "STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES" calls for "the internationalisation of the economy" and all sort of other socialist boilerplate. It also rejects the notion of "armed peace" between superpowers, and wants Europe to play a lead role in basically disarming everyone.
Socialist International has member organizations from most countries, including one from the United States, "DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS OF AMERICA", which touts its vision of what it calls an "alternative to capitalism." Its newsletter, The Activist, is filled with articles that sing the praises of folks like Karl Marx and the late socialist radical Michael Harrington.
Jagland also serves as chairman of the board of the Oslo Center, which pursues Jimmy Carter-like interventions into conflicts and tries to mediate peace talks (in fact, the Oslo Center and the Carter Center work together).
This does not necessarily prove that President Obama is a socialist. Indeed, the aforementioned Democratic Socialists of America lament on their web site that he is not one of them, and express no end of their frustration in this regard.
But what it does show is the agenda of the people who chose Obama for the Nobel Peace Prize, not to mention the fact that, for whatever reason, they see tremendous hope in him and in what they expect him to do.
The following 8-minute interview that Geir Lundestad (Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee) gave clearly states what some of those expectations might be:
INTERVIEW ABOUT THE 2009 NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
SECRETARY-GENERAL OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE on October 1, 2009 for a 5-year term. The Council of Europe has the longest history of all the existing European cooperation organizations (it just celebrated its 60th anniversary), and it is one of the most important inter-governmental organizations in Europe today. It's made up of 47 member countries and 800 million European citizens. That's a pretty lofty position and job description for Jagland despite his impressive Resume - and he was elected to fill this vacancy after much controversy too, not to mention only a mere one week prior to the Nobel Peace Prize announcement. Interesting timing, no? More on that in a moment.
One can only guess as to the kind of power he will have in managing the EU'S INTERNATIONAL MILITARY POLICE FORCE (EGF). Yep, that's right, the EU has a fully functioning "international "force of trained soldiers.

In case of an operation involving BOTH MILITARY AND POLICE COMPONENTS, the EU's action on Petersburg-tasks requires a STRONG SYNERGY BETWEEN THE POLICE AND MILITARY components.
Of course, no mention of any of that in any of those "Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize" news reports. No, instead we're simply treated to an image of this smiling, friendly looking man who works for the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, and who really likes our President Barack Obama.
Excuse me, but let's just put on our tinfoil hats for a moment and take a stroll down "What If? Lane" to consider one avenue of thought here. This is PURE SPECULATION on my part. Let's assume for just a minute that this is the man (Jagland) who will eventually rule as the prophesied Antichrist - not Obama. If so, isn't that how the Subtle Serpent would work?
First, the Subtle Serpent would perform a little NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) on the largely unsuspecting masses by introducing "this man Jagland and his image" to the world (via this photo that accompanied just about "every story" on Obama's award that day) on such a grand scale publicly for the first time. After all, the news of Obama being the recipient had nations around the globe buzzing, and not just the United States. It truly was a mass introduction to Jagland even if Jagland wasn't front and center (meaning that the story wasn't about him, but Obama as the main focal point).
Second, the Subtle Serpent would mock us even in the midst of his own Great Deception. Assuming we're still in this fantasy "What If?" world for a moment, just think of the callous, sinister symbolism inherent in that image of the "potentially real" Antichrist (Jagland) smiling while holding up the picture of the man that more and more people are starting to think is the prophesied Antichrist instead! What a cunning deception carried out by the Subtle Serpent while he laughs at all those Christians who think they're "tuned in" to the real man to be concerned about prophetically speaking.
Surely, such moves as explained above would fit with all of Satan's characteristics, would they not? Look, my point in writing all of this today is two fold.
Mainly, I want to demonstrate how careful we as the Body of Christ need to be whenever we play Pin-The-Tail-On-The-Antichrist because there will "always" be people who emerge on a regular basis who exhibit something that catches our discerning eye, but if we're not careful (and if we don't take everything under prayerful consideration always), then we run the risk of inadvertently perpetuating the Cry Wolf Syndrome, and our excessive (and sometimes ridiculous) warnings will fall on deaf ears even when the real deal shows up. Still, we must continue to warn about what it is we notice that we think "could be" important. It's the essence of being a Watchmen.
I also wanted to call attention to the man who made the stunning announcement on Friday, and whose face was plastered on almost every TV screen I saw that day, not to mention every news article I read too. He's a political newcomer thrust into a powerful position in Europe with a full five years to do as he sees fit in leading Europe and shaping the world to his liking. With everything else we've been witnessing firsthand that is prophetically relevant he bears watching as well.

A light that shines in the darkness dawned 2000 years ago and continues to shine in spirit through the tangible expression of our lives today. Invite your family and friends to come and see this thing, which God has done. We will sing carols in joy and celebrate with light while we participate together in the nativity, the birth of Jesus. Let's worship God on this special night.
Worship at 7:00 pm will be a celebration of joy and music as we hear the story of the birth of Jesus; a birthing that continues through us. Invite your family to join us on this evening of worship bathed in candlelight to experience the miracle of Emmanuel, God with us, born of Mary in a stable long ago and born in us today.

El prop'osito de este ritual, es agradecer a los Dioses por sus bendiciones durante todo el d'ia, y pedirles que est'en con nosotros durante el d'ia que vendr'a. Para meditar sobre las actividades del d'ia y prepararse para el d'ia siguiente. Pues bien, veamos qu'e necesitamos y c'omo se realiza
Herramientas:
* Vela roja
* Hierba/s para el t'e
* Tetera
* Taza
* Recipiente para el agua
* Contenedor para hierba/s
* El agua pura de manantial
Preparaci'on:
Primero limpiaremos la taza y la tetera, mezclaremos las hierbas, si es que usaremos una mezcla, herviremos el agua de manantial y luego nos propondremos para la creaci'on de un lugar tranquilo y privado en el que no se ver'a afectado nuestro ritual. Colocaremos la vela, el contenedor de hierbas, la tetera y la taza en el lugar en el espacio ritual, junto con el agua hirviendo. Luego de preparar todo esto, encienderemos la vela, y elevaremos la siguiente oraci'on a la Diosa:
Diosa de gracia,
T'u que eres la Reina de los Dioses,
L'ampara de la noche,
Creadora de todo lo que es salvaje y libre;
Madre de la mujer y el hombre;
Amante del Dios Cornudo,
Protectora de todas las embarcaciones;
desciende, te ruego,
con tu rayo lunar poderoso
a mi rito.
Luego le diremos al Dios:
Ardiente Dios,
T'u que eres el Rey de los Dioses,
