St. Jane de Chantal

...receive the ashes that both remind us of our mortality and call us to undergo a change of heart so as to live more closely according to the Gospel. And to receive the Body and Blood of Christ whose passion death and resurrection we will commemorate and celebrate at the climax of these forty days. Lent is not just a season of "give ups":" smoking, chocolate, desert, meat, and so on. It is a time of taking on: taking on time to meditate on the Gospel, taking on time for spiritual reading, prayer or adoration. And it is a time to heed the advice of St. Jane de Chantal, foundress of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary, "We cannot always offer God great things but at each instant we can offer little things with great love. Offering those little things with great love may be a more difficult mortification than giving up desert for the next forty days.LINK (HERE) TO READ THE FULL BLOG POST BY FR JACK S.J. Orthodoxy And New Age Spirituality

Orthodoxy And New Age Spirituality
From an interview with Metropolitan Hierotheos of Nafpaktos:

"QUESTION: Over the last several decades societies which in the past considered themselves to be Christian are falling victim to the flood of different pseudo-religious cults (represented in numerous Yoga and meditation systems, UFO hysteria, neopagan sects, etc.), all of them under the umbrella of the so-called New Age Movement. What do you think is the reason for the popularity of these movements and how the Orthodox Church should act in the presence of the above-mentioned New Age "spirituality"?"

ANSWER: The reason for the spread of various pseudo-religious heresies, the so-called religious or neopagan sects, which many members of the Church fall victims to, is that a lot of people have separated from the neptic tradition of our Church. As it is known, the neptic/hesychastic tradition of the Church, which constitutes the prophetic, apostolic and martyric spirit of the ancient Church, is the criterion by which it can be discerned whether some action comes from God or from the devil.

Saint Gregory of Nyssa teaches that heresies flourish where prophets are absent. This is so because prophets and apostles know how to distinguish falsehood from truth.

In addition, in our days, people, and mostly the young ones, do not find comfort in conventional manners, in an externally moralistic life. Instead, they search for answers to existential questions, they look for inner peace and existential freedom.

Therefore, what is needed above anything else in our times is the hesychastic tradition, which forms the basis of the Gospel, the context of the Holy Eucharist, the essence of the apostolic and patristic message. This spirit is found abundant in the "Philokalia" and the "Sayings of the Elders" ("Gerontikon"). When these texts are read within the canonical structure of the Orthodox Church, they help us avoid fallacy and everything associated with it.

The Chinese Moon Festival

Former World Bank Senior Lawyer Claims Countries Are Controlled By Non Humans With Elongated Skulls
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a popular East Asian celebration of abundance and togetherness, dating back over 3,000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty. In Malaysia and Singapore, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or "Mooncake Festival."

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (usually around mid- or late-September in the Gregorian calendar), a date that parallels the Autumn Equinox of the solar calendar. This is the ideal time, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, to celebrate the abundance of the summer's harvest. The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.

The Moon Festival is full of legendary stories. Legend says that Chang Er flew to the moon, where she has lived ever since. You might see her dancing on the moon during the Moon Festival. The Moon Festival is also an occasion for family reunions. When the full moon rises, families get together to watch the full moon, eat moon cakes, and sing moon poems. With the full moon, the legend, the family and the poems, you can't help thinking that this is really a perfect world. That is why the Chinese are so fond of the Moon Festival.

The Moon Festival is also a romantic one. A perfect night for the festival is if it is a quiet night without a silk of cloud and with a little mild breeze from the sea. Lovers spend such a romatic night together tasting the delicious moon cake with some wine while watching the full moon. Even for a couple who can't be together, they can still enjoy the night by watching the moon at the same time so it seems that they are together at that hour. A great number of poetry has been devoted to this romantic festival. Hope the Moon Festival will bring you happiness.

Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date. Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together. Accompanying the celebration, there are additional cultural or regional customs, such as:

* Eating moon cakes outside under the moon
* Putting pomelo rinds on one's head
* Carrying brightly lit lanterns
* Burning incense in reverence to deities including Chang'e
* Planting Mid-Autumn trees
* Collecting dandelion leaves and distributing them evenly among family members
* Lighting lanterns on towers
* Fire Dragon Dances

Shops selling mooncakes, before the festival, often display pictures of Chang'e floating to the moon.

Why Doesn't God Stop Suffering

Why Doesnt God Stop Suffering
This world is full of suffering and
pain, and God does allow it. And while we may understand to a point why God had to allow suffering, why doesn't he end it now? Why has he allowed it to continue so long? That is a troubling question.

A

perfect and holy God created a perfect world. He "looked over all he made, and he saw that it was excellent in every way" (Genesis 1:31 nlt).
Yet not for long. Because of free will, humans had a choice of God's way or their way. They chose their way, and sin and evil entered the world. The perfect paradise God had created was destroyed. And from that moment forward-multiplied thousands of years-hunger, disease, hatred, wars, and untold heartache have plagued the human race. It is true God has promised to redeem those who trust in his Son for salvation and to restore creation back to his original design. But why is God taking so long to correct the tragic mess humans have made of this world?

A

Difficult Question

We
confess that we cannot satisfactorily explain why God has allowed suffering for as long as he has. We agree with agnostic Bart Ehrman that the question "Where is God in all this?" is a valid one, even though we disagree with his answers and conclusions.

But
why God is taking so
long to end pain and suffering is truly a perplexing question.
Over 2500 years ago Habakkuk, a prophet of Judah, had the same question. He lived at a time when Judah was violent and wicked, and many innocents suffered.
The prophet asked, "How long, O Lord, must I call
for help? But you do not listen! 'Violence is everywhere!' I cry, but you do not come to save. Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery?
" (Habakkuk 1:1-3). It appeared to Habakkuk that God was ignoring the problem of pain and suffering.

Job
had a similar complaint. He had a large stock of animals that were stolen, and all his farmhands were killed. His house was destroyed and all of his children died. He contracted a terrible case of boils from head to foot. And as he sat in misery scraping his running sores with broken pieces of pottery, the only comfort and advice he got from his wife was, "Curse God and die" ( Job 2:9).

Instead,
Job cursed the day he was born and asked, "Why is life given to those with no future, those destined by God to live in distress?...I have no peace, no quietness. I have no rest; instead, only trouble comes" ( Job 3:23,26 nlt). He could not understand why God would allow such suffering for those without a future.

King
David had his questions for God too. He was misunderstood, mistreated, and betrayed, and he suffered at the hands of his enemies. He cried out,

O

Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How
long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day?...Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! (Psalm 13:1-3).
What
is God's answer? Why doesn't he stop the madness? Today in the twenty-first century violence is everywhere. Life is also given to those with no real future. We see the misery and hopelessness of the starving and broken. Where is God? Why does he let it go on?

Even Jesus Asked Why

One
final question before we offer an answer. Jesus, who was very God and very man, also had a question. He knew he was to suffer and die a cruel death for the sins of the world. Yet just before his crucifixion he prayed, "My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine" (Matthew 26:39). It is not strange that on a human level Jesus didn't want to suffer. It is clear that he was struggling with the knowledge that he would experience great pain and suffering. Humanly he didn't want to endure the torturous death of the cross-yet he would do it for his Father.

And hours later Jesus asks perhaps the most perplexing
question of all time. While he is hanging on the cross, dying a hideous death, he musters the strength to ask, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"
(Matthew 27:46). What a question to come from the Son of God to his Father!
Jesus was actually quoting Psalm 22:1, where King David asked that question.
David followed up that question with, "Why are you so far away when I groan for help? Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night you hear my voice, but I find no relief" (Psalm 22:1-2).

It
is as if Jesus spoke on behalf of the entire human race with this question:
"Why, God, have you abandoned us?" It was as if his cry was amplified to echo back to the expulsion of the first couple from the Garden of Eden and forward to the end of time, asking, "Why
don't you do something about this now?"

God
Desires More Relationships

We
don't know if or how God answered his Son on the cross. The questions of Habakkuk, Job, and David were left unexplained. Search all of Scripture and you will find very few answers. The apostle Peter suggests that God is waiting for more people to come to him. "The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return," Peter says. "No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent...the Lord is waiting so that people have time to be saved" (2 Peter 3:9,15).

It's
true that the longer God waits to return, the more people are coming to him.
Studies by Operation World reported by the book Perspectives shows
that by 1887, after 100 years of Christian missionary work around the world, there were 3 million Protestant converts out of a world population of a billion and a half. Today, over 100 years later, those numbers have dramatically changed.

Christianity
may have declined as a proportion of the West's population, but this is not so in other major population areas of the world. For example, in 1900 there were 8 million Christians in Africa; by 2000 there were 351 million. Christianity has now become the major religion across sub-Saharan Africa. In 1900 there were 22 million Christians in Asia; by 2005 there were around 370 million. From 1900 to
2000 evangelicals grew in Latin America from about 700,000 to over 55 million.
And more Muslims are turning to Christ in the Middle East than at any other time in history. The 2006 Operation World report summarized it thus:

Evangelical
Christianity is currently the fastest growing religious movement in the world today. Evangelical growth represents more than double the growth rate of the next closest religion (Islam) and more than triple the world's population growth rate. 23

Does
this mean that as long as the earth is being populated and people are coming to Christ, God will wait to bring an end to it all? We don't know. But God does, and it seems clear he has simply chosen not to fully explain why he has allowed evil, suffering, pain, and death to last as long as it has.

Listen
to what God said to Habakkuk. "Look around at the nations; look and be amazed!
For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn't believe even if someone told you about it
" (Habakkuk 1:5). Yes, he had a plan then and he still does. He had a reason for doing what he was doing, he just wasn't going to explain it all to Habakkuk. Sure-God could explain to us today why there is suffering and why he is taking centuries to accomplish his ultimate goal of
"reconciling the world to himself" (2 Corinthians 5:19). He could explain why he hasn't yet recreated this world as a place where "there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain" (Revelation 21:4). But he has chosen not to explain it to us. Yet that doesn't mean we don't have an answer.

Focusing
on God Himself

It
seems that God gave Habakkuk understanding of how he wanted him-and all of us-to respond. Rather than trying to figure out the details of his plan, God wants us to focus on him as a person. He told Habakkuk that

these
things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked; but the righteous will live by their faith (Habakkuk 2:3-4 nlt).
There
it is: God wants us to trust in him personally even if we don't understand his plan. Job finally got the same message-that he was to put faith in the person of God. Job said to him, "I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. You asked 'Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?' It is I-and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me" ( Job 42:2-3). And how did he come to the conclusion that God's ways and his plans were beyond his comprehension? By knowing God the person. "I had only heard about you before," Job said, "but now I have seen you with my own eyes" ( Job 42:5). His focus was no longer on a plan, but in a person whom he trusted to know what he was doing.

King
David understood the message that he was to live by faith in the person of God, too. Right after he asked God, "Why have you abandoned me?" he declared, "Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them...they trusted in you and were never disgraced" (Psalm
22:3-5
). Read the entirety of Psalm 22 and you will find David got the message.
He may not have understood why God delayed in making all things right, but he believed he was good and knew what he was doing.

And
while Jesus as God knew that his suffering was the only solution for sin, suffering, and death, he modeled for us what we must do-place our faith and trust in God, who does all things right in his right timing. Peter said,

God
called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned, nor even deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God [he kept entrusting himself to God] who always judges fairly (1 Peter 2:21-23).

We
may not understand God's plan, but we can trust in his person. He is faithful and just and always judges rightly. And he is always with us. Jesus said, "I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid" ( John 14:27). He prayed to his Father to send us his Spirit-the Holy Spirit to guide us, comfort us, and be with us no matter what happens. Jesus said, "Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20).

Standing On Guard

Standing On Guard
"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

- Thomas Jefferson

I've quoted this President Jefferson quote before; I used to think that what he said didn't make sense. In my healing process, though, I've realized that it takes a watchful eye to maintain this kind of lifestyle: a spiritually-based lifestyle of rigorous honesty, with the freedom to feel one's feelings, the responsibility to not nurse resentments, and the intense desire to draw closer and closer to God.

There's a Bible verse that is very largely misunderstood; well, at least I misunderstood it, for a lot of years. It says, "Keep your heart above all things, for out of it spring the issues of life." (Proverbs 4:23) I thought it was cross-referenced with "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked..." (Jeremiah 17:9) - but in fact, the opposite is true. Proverbs 4:23 in the Hebrew literally means, "Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life." (NASB) The underlying meaning is that the heart is so important and so precious, being the seat of emotions and will, that its well-being and health must be guarded at all times.

The Jeremiah passage refers to the unregenerate / godless heart. But Solomon (in Proverbs) was giving advice to his son whom he raised to respect God; he encouraged him to guard the center of his mind, will, and emotions at all cost so that it was functioning the way it was designed to work, so that his insides would serve him well. That takes work. HARD work.

Complacency is the lazy cousin of arrogance - and it's one I know quite well. Yes, I've come a long way in what can be considered a very short time. But that in no way means that I've arrived; there is always more to discover, more to turn over to God, more layers of manipulation, of self-deception, of powerlessness in me. The tyranny of the urgent takes over. Boredom slimes its way into my daily routine. The "insanity" of my addiction to "fixing" or "rescuing" people, very easily returns when complacency creeps in.

Something I hear quite frequently sounds like this: "It is easy to let up on our spiritual program of recovery and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if we do. For our addiction is a subtle foe. We are not cured of our addiction; what we have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition." (The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, adapted) That passage reminds me of something a Bible camp counselor told me one time after I described a spiritual awakening I had when I was a teen: "The problem with a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1) is that it keeps trying to crawl off the altar."

The process of healing (or 'recovery' as I like to call it) contains spiritual tools that can be used at any time as needed for maintenance. It's just like fixing up a fixer-upper. That refurbished house is going to need upkeep in order to keep it looking good and to keep the leaks of air and water away. If someone hurts me, or hurts me again, and I've let resentment creep back in, then I need to work through the process of forgiveness - and rely completely on God to give me the strength to deal with that. If I screw up - and I do, often - I need to become willing (through God's strength) to apologize, and then go do it. It keeps me humble, dependent on God for everything.

Maintaining my spiritual condition is crucial to my continued recovery. If I'm not progressing, moving forward in my walk with God, then I'm losing ground. There is no "holding pattern."

I've tasted enough of this lifestyle and the benefits of it to motivate me to work at my relationship with God, press in to His heart, receive His love, love Him in return, and let that love spill over into my relationships with people. But it all starts with relationship with Him and repeating whatever step in the process I need to repeat in order to maintain peace with Him. This is "laboring to enter into His rest."

Rest. Yes, that's worth it.

The Santa Clause Trilogy Blu Ray Review

The Santa Clause Trilogy Blu Ray Review
While the plots for each of the "Santa Clause "movies varied in theme and originality, their entertainment value was undeniable and allowed a popular stand-up comic mostly known for his macho-oriented sitcom to shine and reach new, more family-friendly audiences. Now offered as a 3-film box set, collectors and comedy fans alike finally have the chance to get their hands on these films, or at least upgrade their collection to high-definition if they already owned these on their shelves in previous formats.

The Santa Clause Movie Trilogy on Blu-Ray - Courtesy Disney Home Video, 2012

Now if by some fluke or mere coincidence you've never even heard of this film series, allow me to shine some light on the subject. In the original "The Santa Clause", Tim Allen plays Scott Calvin, your average nice middle-aged guy, father of young Charlie (Eric Lloyd) and divorced from wife Laura (Wendy Crewson). Scott works at a toy company as an executive, and tries to make whatever time he can spare to spend with his son.

One night, on Christmas Eve, to be exact, Scott and Charlie hear a thud on the roof of their suburban house. When they head out to investigate, they see a jolly looking fellow in a red suit, white hair and beard, sleigh and reindeer. When Scott calls out to him, the mystery visitor slips and falls off the roof. Once he hits the ground, he vanishes into thin air, leaving behind the Santa-like garments. Inside the man's red and white coat is a card stating that whoever finds this coat should put it on, especially if the former wearer has gone missing. Logically enough, and to please his kid, Scott tries on the coat. And poof. The adventure begins.

Eric Lloyd and Tim Allen try to rationalize their predicament in the original THE SANTA CLAUSE - Picture Courtesy Disney Pictures, 1994

The puzzled single father finds himself transported to the North Pole (via flying sleigh and reindeer, naturally), where a senior elf worker named Bernard (David Krumholtz, in a great role) explains the "Santa Clause", whereby whoever put on the coat is to replace the previous wearer, thus becoming Santa. Being given a deadline of the following Thanksgiving to tie up loose ends in the "normal world", Scott is to become Santa permanently, with all of the perks and abilities included therein.

Of course, the journey to the following holidays is fraught with potential problems including a custody fight with his ex over Charlie, a case now gone complicated as Scott must explain that he hasn't gone insane. The bulk of the film explores the perils and challenges Scott faces while he decides whether or not he's ready for the awesome responsabilities the role of Santa requires.

In the 2002 sequel "The Santa Clause 2", Scott Calvin is still Santa, and eight years have passed since the first film. The administrative elves at Santa's workshop discover a fine print to the original clause: The "Mrs." Clause. Santa must get married by the following Christmas, or the holiday dies altogether.

Santa and Bernard examine the Naughty List, in THE SANTA CLAUSE 2 - Picture Courtesy Disney Pictures, 2002

If this little pickle wasn't enough of a problem, Scott also has to deal with his now teenaged son Charlie (still played by Lloyd), who apparently appears on the Naughty List, due to some destruction of property on high school grounds. Scott/Santa must travel back to the normal world in order to help his son redeem himself, all the while keeping an eye out for Mrs. Right, which in this case would become Mrs. Claus.

Lightning figuratively strikes when Scott meets Charlie's principal, Carol Newman (Elizabeth Mitchell). Though the two don't exactly hit it right off, Scott is immediately smitten by her and uses whatever Santa magic he has left at his disposal to woo her. While he does so, unbeknownst to him, all hell breaks loose up North. Hoping to conceal Scott's absence while he's off grounds finding love, the shop workers have built a robot Santa in Scott's likeness to replace him. The problem? This faux-Santa does things a little too literally, and is slowly taking over the entire operation, threatening to destroy Christmas before the real Santa returns with good news to fulfill the requirements of this sub-clause.

Finally, in the latest installment "Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause", Scott (Allen) meets his match when he butts heads against the chilly Jack Frost (Martin Short, overacting on purpose). In a plot that could have been picked right out of "It's a Wonderful Life", "Santa Clause 3" sees Scott and Carol expecting a child at the North Pole. Scott invites his ex-wife, her husband Neil (Judge Reinhold) and daughter Lucy (Liliana Mumy), as well as Carol's parents (Alan Arkin and Ann-Margret).

Santa show Jack Frost around his home and work area, in THE SANTA CLAUSE 3 - Picture Courtesy Disney Pictures, 2006

Trying to keep Carol comfortable as things get busier around the Santa estate, Scott also gets summoned to an important meeting of Legendary Characters, where he must help Mother Nature, Father Time, The Sandman, The Tooth Fairy and The Easter Bunny render judgment unto Frost (Short), who's been bitter about not having his own holiday theme in modern lore and has been trying to steal some of the Christmas thunder from Scott. Receiving sentence to perform community service by helping around Snta's workshop, Frost proceeds to try and ruin Christmas through various acts of sabotage, until he finds another bit of fine print to the Santa gig: The Escape Clause.

Frost tricks Scott into invoking said clause, sending both Scott and Frost back to Christmas 1994 (in the very first scenes of the original film, actually) where Frost gets to the coat first, turning into Santa instead. This causes both men to travel back to the present day, where Santa is now an opportunistic and tyrannical slave-driver at the North Pole, while Scott sees his alternate life as a regular man whose job at the toy company continued, but had little rapport with his now estranged son. It's up to Scott to travel up to the North Pole to try and reverse this entire series of events, before Jack Frost ruins happy holidays forever.

I never thought that one could ever buiild upon the great and original story that was the first film. After all, it had an inventive premise, an endearing set of characters, plenty of witty but family-friendly dialogue and double-entendres, and a fuzzy and warm d'enouement.

Then again, the writers who came up with each subsequent clause for the following films got more and more clever, finding the means to eclipse each previous film. Though the third film seemed to borrow from other established holiday classics, it was still nice to see a comedic legend like Martin Short pit himself aginst a lovable goof like Tim Allen.

The trilogy's other strength lay in its ability to retain most of the original cast from movie to movie, over a twelve-year span. This allowed for welcome familiarity tying each installment into the next. So often have movie franchises decided to switch actors mid-series causing anger and frustration, not to mention confusion amongst kids who couldn't grasp the concept of central casting. Even the absence of David "Bernard" Krumholtz is explained in the third film (the actor was under contract on another project), simply by having the writers promote another helpful elf from the second film to Bernard's old position. Problem solved.

Now, if you're wondering how many new goodies are included in each blu-ray disc of this set, you might be in for a slight disappointment: Aside from some movie trailers for upcoming films found on the first film's blu-ray disc, all extras appear to have been rehashed from the original DVD release. In fact, the extras found on the first two films' discs are in standard resolution, likely recycled from their original home video versions. Only the third and most recent film shows any sign of high resolution content.

Nonetheless, all three films look great on screen, with excellent DTS sound offered on all installments. You'll also find bloopers, interviews and the usual assortment of interactive, kid-friendly games.

Is this set worth buying for the family? Only if you didn't own any of them and have run your previous DVD or VHS versions ragged from repeat viewing. It's certainly a chance to keep the kids busy for half a day at least, and newcomers will get to see the whole saga in crisp, crystal clarity. Ho ho ho indeed!

Update by Sheldan Nidle for the Spiritual Hierarchy and the Galactic Federation10/22/2013

7 Chicchan, 8 Tzec, 10 Caban

Dratzo! Much has happened since we last talked. A number of agreements are in place and a schedule for the next set of covert events is finished. We are happy that these things are moving forward, and it is important that a number of other events occur now as well. At present, the schedule agreed to is underway. Although these things cannot be described to you in any detail, the various dark governments are on their way out. Until the current situation is resolved, we are not able to give you any information on what is to happen next, but the actual deliveries of numerous prosperity funds are very close. The current situation is very fluid and requires a degree of stability before things can move forward. We are monitoring this closely and intend to help when appropriate. Meanwhile, we are aiding in a series of arrests, and recoveries of funds. The dark cabal cannot be allowed to stay in power without them intimately knowing that they are being watched and checked on. These arrogant ones know that their time is ending and a new epoch is ready to begin!

As all of these various actions are played out, it is important for you to realize that the changes being carried out by Heaven have accelerated. Your head chakras need to be primed. Your neck and upper body chakras require a vast set of readjustments. Our medical teams have reported that these physical changes are now underway. Hence, some of you are experiencing either degrees of dizziness, increasing bouts of forgetfulness or even a temporary loss of vocabulary. Along with these symptoms is occasional blurriness of vision accompanied in many cases by headaches. Neck aches and shoulder aches have also been described. In short, your upper body and head are the centers for a number of upgrades. The things that we have just described are only the symptoms for what is now happening to you. The next areas of attention are the places most affected by the energies that come to you from your silver cord. These carry heavenly information used by your body guardians to maintain your physical essences.

As your physical essences are divinely adjusted, you begin to experience higher and higher physical vibrations. This permits you to rev up your present consciousness. Thus, you are having more vivid dreams and feeling an increased level of expectations as you connect to the life energies that surround your beautiful living world. Gaia is feeling this alteration as well. She is speeding up many of the preliminary phenomena associated with the returning of her surface to its previous pristine condition. This increasing level of change is being felt by her numerous ecosystems. Each group of elementals assigned to a species of animal will facilitate how the animals react to the action of Gaia. Life on your surface is going through a series of stresses that is taxing the overall nature of these diverse ecosystems. These stresses will ease after humanity leaves for its grand transformation in the realm of Inner Earth. The time for these great changes is not very far off. A divine timeframe is definitely in effect.

We are coordinating with both our Earth allies and the liaisons of Agartha to prepare this planet for a most grand change. A series of vital announcements will start an operation that will hurl your current reality into a new epoch. You are in a special time. Shortly, things are to occur that will vastly transform what you now think of as somewhat permanent. These changes will include an end to secrecy that denied you knowledge of us and hid a vast amount of homegrown technologies. Our announcements will include not only an awareness of what you will learn, but also a full disclosure of what we have to offer. You need to understand the immensity of what has been hidden from you by the dark. In addition, you need to grasp what lies ahead for each of you. Full consciousness is a grand gift that Heaven is ready to bestow. It gives you a most wonderful opportunity because you will at last rejoin both your spiritual and space families.

Blessings! We are your Ascended Masters! We come in joy and feel blessed by Heaven to be able to explain a few vital subjects to you now! To start, let us briefly discuss the divine timing of your Ascension. We have been those of such grand moral focus that each of us was given a special dispensation to allow us to attain the gift of full consciousness in a few lifetimes. We have literally "gone back to school" and been taught how we are to supervise and guide humanity. This great responsibility is something we have each cherished over the centuries and millennia as we led you to the very brink of your ascension in this lifetime. Events are shortly to happen that provide a transition between this time and the one where Heaven's Light can truly shine brightly. Take this precious time to dedicate yourself to the transformations that are needed. We intend to give you instructions to ease your mind on this vital subject!

The blessed realms possess a wisdom that goes far beyond the thoughts of this reality. It is most important to let go of the things that bind you to this world. Look inside and allow your many fears to subside and exit your mind. What will be left is a direct connection to your "I am Presence." Learn to converse with your true self-who you really are. It is brave, wise and able to live within the moral truths given us by Heaven. Learn to embody what you learn. Become one who can focus within this wisdom and manifest what you really desire. As you do this, you are raising your life vibrations and encompassing who you are. In this world, such focus is frequently discouraged by school, work and by beliefs that often run counter to the ones you are so steadfastly acquiring. In this Light, you are free, and soon this is to be the way of this reality!

Be ever mindful of what you are becoming. Focus of intention is vital to what you are doing. You are readying yourselves with our blessings for a life in full consciousness. You are to be an Angel of this physical plane and to dutifully serve the glorious Light of the Creator! Many souls are trapped in circumstances that require your blessings, service and wisdom. You will use your divine talents to heal, to encourage and to direct those under your tutelage. This sacred set of interactions requires some degree of training and experience. You are to be a most magnificent group of physical Angels. Hence, Heaven expects much of you. We come to teach, to guide and to prepare you for the grand missions to be given you by your heavenly administrators! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Today, we continued our messages! The time approaches for a great change in this reality. It is time to transform the pain and suffering into joy, peace and prosperity! The dark cabal has had time to change gracefully and failed. A new day is dawning that will bring in a graceful epoch for humanity! Know, dear Ones, that the countless Supply and never-ending Prosperity of Heaven are indeed Yours! So Be It! Selamat Gajun! Selamat Ja! (Sirian for Be One! and Be in Joy!

Unin De Manos Ii

Unin De Manos Ii

No
No
No
Novio: Somos fuego

Nos circunda

Camina alrededor de la novia, en el sentido de las agujas del reloj.

No
Y los servidores de la diosa;

En ella, a trav'es de ella, vivimos y respiramos,

Tenemos nuestros amores y comprensiones.

Como ella desea, as'i debe ser

Aspects To Consider Before Enrolling

Aspects To Consider Before Enrolling For Christian Marriage Classes In Chester Ca

By Lila Bryant

Marriage is not an easy thing, though people are required to marry at some point of their lives. Before committing to marriage, it is important to be educated from a recognized Christian institution. This would help live with your wife or husband peacefully. When searching for Christian marriage classes in Chester CA, seek recommendations from close friends and family members.

People reach a particular age in life, which requires them to tie the knot. However, only few marriages last these days. After deciding to have wife or husband, it is essential to prepare spiritually. If this is not given considerations, the union will have problems and may lead to divorce.

Experiencing marriage difficulties is likely to cause a lot of stress to the couple. The only easy way of avoiding this is by attending spiritual lessons on how to live as a couple. What is significant is to get good lessons offered by experts preferably bishops or pastors. When in need of these lessons, you must find a respectable institution and not essentially of your favorite church.

The process of finding reputable institutions can be a challenge. However, putting a little effort would help. The right institution to attend should be bible based and the lecturers must be qualified. Because people are seeking these services, most churches are now offering lessons, as it is a way of getting some cash. You should not be in a hurry when looking for these classes as you may go to an institution whose motive is just to collect money.

The best institution must have reputable lecturers, and they should be respectable men of God. So, the first assignment is to know about the history of the institution. You should also know those who are tasked with offering lessons to couples. After knowing this, you can then decide to register.

Another thing to consider is the duration of these lessons. Really, attending such classes should not be like being in a university. Because people are busy with other errands, the institution must offer flexible learning hours. You should also be told how long the course will take as this helps you to prepare adequately.

These courses are normally offered at a fee. Because of this, it is important to seek clarifications about payments. When looking for these courses, it is important to seek help from family members. This is because, they may know the right institutions in the region. You should remember that, people go to different churches, but when it comes to learning more about marriages, do not be choosy. So, seek recommendations and carry out background checks before enrolling.

Nuptials can only last if given good foundation. This is why those who are planning to wed should attend faith-based classes. Special institutions, which give these courses are several, but it is important to enroll with respectable one. You need to know about the background of the school and lecturers before registration. So, obtain endorsements from friends and relatives, as this will help you have a joyful marriage life.

Man In India Marries Dog As Atonement

Man In India Marries Dog As Atonement
He tells the local newspaper he had been suffering since he stoned two canines to death. I'm not making this shit up. Apparently this guy stoned 2 dogs and hung them from a tree and has been suffering a series of misfortunes ever since. Frankly I'd like to give him a taste of his own medicine. Nothing pisses me off more than people who abuse Children, Women, or animals. That being said there are at least a couple hundred punch lines at the ready for this particular story. But I wont take the easy route as this post is really about atonement.

While our Indian friend, Dances with Dog, ooops wrong kind of Indian, is following some superstitious eastern religion inspired path to atonement, most of us don't have it so easy. If we have any redeeming social value as human beings we feel guilt for the wrongs we have committed against our fellow man. But is atonement really possible and if so does it really help the person we wronged or does it just make us feel better? If its the latter, and I believe that's the case, then it is just another self centered act and not really contrition.

I was reading an article the other day about an upcoming execution. The mother of the murder victim was saying that as a Christian she loved and forgave the killer, but still wanted him to be executed. She claimed it was Gods will, the whole eye for an eye thing from the Old Testament. This woman wasn't seeking atonement, she was seeking revenge, she just didn't have the balls to call it what it was. Atonement, at least as I understand it is an act that rights a wrong, and as much as this guy may or may not deserve to die the act of killing him wont resurrect the person who was killed anymore than marrying a dog makes up for killing the other two.

My point is this. We cant go back and right wrongs, life doesn't come with spell check. So it behooves us to choose our words and actions carefully. I've done a great number of things in my past that I regret. I've also long since come to grips with the fact that there is no going back. At best we can try to be better people and hope that if there is a GOD he will give us a pass on the bad stuff if we even it out with some good stuff. At least that's what I'm banking on.

Chi Or Not Chi

Chi Or Not Chi
Some have mocked, but they are wrong to mock. And now that it is morning, and my head is throbbing less than it was, I will prove it to them. I have collated two lists. One is where the "ch" is from the Greek letter "chi", and where, therefore, the sound is "ck", or, allowably, as in the Scottish word "loch" (as pronounced by a Scottish person). The other is where it is not, and is therefore pronounced "ch", as in "chick". I have ignored words which have been insufficiently Anglicised, and are still too Germanic, Yiddish or Frenchy, such as "charabanc", to have been safely brought into the latter fold.

- Chi: perichoresis, Christian, chi (letter name), ichthos

- Not chi: chorizo, Ch'i (Chinese: life force), church, chocolate, French, chalice, chasuble, chest-cross (for those too squeamish to refer to a bishop's "pectoral")

Extra lists:

- Italian ones which are pronounced "ck": chianti

- Confusing ones which are pronounced "ck" which you're just going to have to learn: choir (more English version "quire", but re-spelled in the 17th Century to be more Latinate, which is fine)

If you don't know how to pronounce these words, some of which may be used in a liturgical setting (e.g. "we've run out of Communion wine, would you mind popping back home to fetch that half-bottle of chianti we had left over last night?"), then you're going to feel mightily embarassed. This is a church matter, and of great importance.

I'm off to find my shin pads, before the Archdruid finds her Slazenger and steel-capped boots.

Flash Game Review: Cat God Vs. Sun King

Flash Game Review Cat God Vs Sun King
Developer: Nerdook

Genre: Defense

Kongregate Rating: 4.14/5

Flash Mush Rating: 7.5/10

Time for another game by the legendary developer, Nerdook. Cat God vs. Sun King is an interesting game that is mainly defense based but retains all of the great features Nerdook utilizes in all his games as well as throws in a meme to keep the internet savy happy.

The plot line of Cat God vs. Sun King is that the Sun King wants to build a huge temple in order for the people to worship him instead of the Cat God aka Nyan Cat. Of course the Cat God doesn't want this to happy so he uses his powers to throw fireballs, create skeleton armies, curse people, and all sorts of nasty things. You play as the Cat God who is defending himself from the tower being built, if they succeed in building it all the way (10 levels) then you lose. At your disposal are six different spells you can cast and you can pick and choose which ones you want to bring into battle. The enemies are various. You have the basic slaves, but then you have slave drivers which can speed up slave's building, priests which can heal, soldiers which can defend against skeletal attacks, and so on. Quite detailed actually.

Of course were Cat God vs. Sun King shines is in the areas where all Nerdook games shine. That great style of graphics, variety in the spells as well as upgrades and achievements. Playing a Nerdook game you're guarantied to have those. However the game still has some faults which unfortunately I can say has becoming a current trend with Nerdook's latest games. Cat God vs. Sun King is very short and very easy. Which equals little to no replay value. Nerdook does sort of counter this with a survival mode but that also doesn't really curb my appetite.

Overall though Cat God vs. Sun King is a great defense online flash game made by the great flash developer Nerdook and you should all give it a try nonetheless.

Buddhist Meditation Four Bases Of Spiritual Power Iddhipd

Buddhist Meditation Four Bases Of Spiritual Power Iddhipd
The FOUR BASES OF SPIRITUAL POWER are the four leading mental qualities that serve as "bases" for success in Buddhist meditation practice. These qualities are "desire", "persistence", "intent", and "discrimination". They are sometimes also called the Four Roads to Success. They are referred to in the Pali Canon (Buddhist scriptures) as the IDDHIPaDa.

The term "iddhi" is derived from the verb "ijjhati", which means "to prosper" or "to succeed." In Buddhist traditions, "iddhi" often refers to supranormal or "spiritual" powers, which are various forms of knowledge and skill that you might acquire when you practice Right Concentration of the Buddha's Noble Eightfold Path. The term "pada" means "basis," which refers to the four mental qualities I mentioned earlier.

According to this teaching, developing Right Concentration based on these four mental qualities will help you accomplish your spiritual pursuits. However, even if you are not a Buddhist or you do not practice any form of meditation, the four bases can still serve you well in whatever goal you may have as long as your intention with that goal is a wholesome one.

SPIRITUAL POWERS

"When a monk has thus developed & pursued the four bases of power, he experiences manifold supranormal powers... He hears - by means of the divine ear-element, purified & surpassing the human - both kinds of sounds: divine & human, whether near or far... He knows the awareness of other beings, other individuals, having encompassed it with his own awareness... He recollects his manifold past lives... He sees - by means of the divine eye, purified & surpassing the human - beings passing away and re-appearing... Through the ending of the mental effluents, he remains in the effluent-free awareness-release & discernment-release, knowing & realizing it for himself in the here & now. This is how these four bases of power, when developed & pursued, are of great fruit ">1. INSIGHT KNOWLEDGE (vipassana-~nana) - the ability to gain clear insight into the nature of phenomena.2. MIND OVER MATTER (iddhividhi) - the power of manipulating physical objects at will. 3. ASTRAL TRAVELLING (manomayiddhi) - the power of creating mind-made images. 4. CLAIRVOYANCE (dibbacakkhu) - the ability to see subtle, hidden, or remote things. 5. CLAIRAUDIENCE (dibbasota) - the ability to know sounds/languages through the divine ear.6. TELEPATHY (cetopariya-~nana) - knowledge of the thoughts and mental states of other beings. 7. KNOWLEDGE OF PAST LIVES (pubbenivasanussati-~nana) - recollection of previous births by means of mental images or intuitive knowledge.8. KNOWLEDGE OF THE ENDING OF MENTAL FERMENTATIONS (asavakkhaya-~nana) - knowing the causes for mental defilements and the means for putting an end to them.

According to Buddhists, the last type of power ("asavakkhaya-~nana") is the most essential on the path to enlightenment. The reason is that it is the only one you need to completely eliminate the last five fetters to enlightenment ("craving for fine material existence", "craving for immaterial existence", "conceit", "restlessness", and "ignorance"). Once you remove these fetters (a.k.a. hindrances, defilements, or fermentations), you reach the fourth and final stage of enlightenment called Arahantship (see Four Stages Of Enlightenment).

Other forms of spiritual power are mainly indicators to let you know how much you have improved with your meditation practice. Therefore, you must not become attached to these powers and even exhibit their use in public. Doing so may turn these powers into hindrances instead of helping you progress in your practice. Those who are successful in acquiring any of these powers should ask their teachers for guidance in using it. Use them in the wrong way and the law of karma will tell you how much you'll have to pay for it.

THE FOUR BASES OF SPIRITUAL POWER

To fully understand how the four bases are used in the context of Right Concentration of the Noble Eightfold Path and to be able to make sense of the things you're going to read below, make sure that you are familiar with two other concepts: Jhanas and Samatha Meditation. The jhanas are the higher states of consciousness you need to reach in order to attain these powers while samatha meditation is the vehicle you're going to use to reach the jhanas.

* The quotes you see below were taken from the English translation of the Iddhipada-vibhanga Sutta by Thanissaro Bhikkhu. It outlines the Buddha's instruction in applying the four bases.
* The images are courtesy of phramick.wordpress.com (check out this site, it's really cool).

1. CONCENTRATION BY MEANS OF DESIRE (CHANDA-SAMaDHI)

"There is the case where a monk develops the base of power endowed with concentration founded on desire (chanda-samadhi) & the fabrications of exertion, thinking, 'This desire of mine will be neither overly sluggish nor overly active, neither inwardly restricted nor outwardly scattered.' He keeps perceiving what is in front & behind so that what is in front is the same as what is behind, what is behind is the same as what is in front. What is below is the same as what is above, what is above is the same as what is below. [He dwells] by night as by day, and by day as by night. By means of awareness thus open ">2. CONCENTRATION BY MEANS OF PERSISTENCE/ENERGY (VIRIYA-SAMaDHI)

"There is the case where a monk develops the base of power endowed with concentration founded on persistence (viriya-samadhi) ">3. CONCENTRATION BY MEANS OF INTENT (CITTA-SAMaDHI)

"There is the case where a monk develops the base of power endowed with concentration founded on intent (citta-samadhi) ">4. CONCENTRATION BY MEANS OF DISCRIMINATION (VIMASa-SAMaDHI)

"He develops the base of power endowed with concentration founded on discrimination (vimasa-samadhi) & the fabrications of exertion, thinking, 'This discrimination of mine will be neither overly sluggish nor overly active, neither inwardly restricted nor outwardly scattered.' He keeps perceiving what is..."

The fourth base of spiritual power is concentration by means of the mental quality of discrimination. The term "vimasa" means "investigation, inquiry," or "pondering." In the context of the four bases, discrimination refers to the investigation of the nature of physical and mental phenomena during heightened states of awareness wherein other mental qualities such as reflection, bliss, and sense of pure being are also present.

True knowledge and ordinary knowledge (based on sense perception or reasoning) are present within us in a mixed state. However, we can only access/obtain true knowledge by reaching the higher states of consciousness, which we refer to here as the jhanas. The fourth jhana (utter peacefulness) is said to be the stage where you begin to attain spiritual powers.

As you ascend through the various levels of jhana, you distinguish ordinary knowledge from true knowledge simply because the more you focus on the object you are investigating, the more you lose subjectivity and the more you see the true nature of that object. To give an analogy, just think of the process of peeling back the skin of an onion. Investigating the various conditions or causal factors that led to the existence of the object you are investigating and learning that they are impermanent, unsatisfactory, and non-self is just like removing the outer layers of the onion. The Buddha said, "By means of awareness thus open & unhampered, he develops a brightened mind"." Once you get to the core and become fully absorbed in the object (fourth jhana), the real knowledge of the object alone shines through your mind. Figuratively speaking, you become the onion. Peace out!
