ALMOND

Entonces los neopaganos estamos consientes que con la llegada del invierno poco a poco los d'ias ir'an siendo m'as largos y tendremos la esperanza de un futuro f'ertil, pr'ospero y lleno de luz para la pr'oxima primavera.

Porque el solsticio de Invierno entra a las 17:40 hrs. del 21 de Diciembre.
Recomiendo la noche del martes 21 para celebrar Yule...Entonces, manos a la obra.
Puedes celebrar en solitario o acompa~nado, con tu coven o grupo de estudio, no dejes pasar esta oportunidad magn'ifica de darle la bienvenida a la luz en la madre tierra.
Limpia tu casa, limpia tu altar, saca el polvo, desde la ma~nana de ese d'ia y despr'endete de todo aquello que no necesites ni de manera material ni de manera emocional, regala lo que no necesites, o v'endelo, es tiempo de desprenderse.
Realiza un ba~no ritual, es decir un ba~no de limpia para tu aura y tu cuerpo, con alg'un jab'on neutro y agua con canela, con rodajas de manzana o s'andalo, esto te ayudar'a a ponerte a tono con las buenas energ'ias.
Consigue un tronco de 'arbol, dec'oralo con tres velas, una VERDE (que representa la madre naturaleza viva en nuestro hogar, la esperanza que nunca muere) una ROJA (que representar'a la sangre que en el parto tuvo nuestra Diosa Madre) y una DORADA (que representa al peque~no Dios que nace nuevamente) agr'egale listones, decoraciones de Yule como ramas de pino, mu'erdago, Nochebuenas, manzanas, racimos de uva, mo~nos de colores brillantes. Este tronco lo pondr'as en tu altar para honrar a los Dioses.
Prepara tu platillo favorito, si tienes tiempo puedes consumir pollo, pavo, carnes, recordando como nuestros antepasados en estas fechas acostumbraban comer del ganado sacrificado para sustentarse...Que no falten las nueces, las almendras, los ar'andanos, las pasas, el pur'e de manzanas y cualquier fruto seco.
Ya sea que tengas tu altar y lo hayas decorado para la ocasi'on o que simplemente en el piso, en el jard'in (aunque har'a fri'o) puedes improvisar tu altar...RECUERDA QUE PARA UN WICCAN CUALQUIERE LUGAR ES SAGRADO Y PODEMOS ESTAR EN CONTACTO CON LOS DIOSES, solo procura no utilizar herramientas ni objetos de pl'astico, aluminio, ni productos de conciencia ecol'ogica escasa...Puedes hacer tu ritual cerca del 'arbol de Yule (pino navide~no)...Enciende incienso de manzana, canela, laurel o pino.
Puedes abrir el c'irculo m'agico y encender las velas del TRONCO DE YULE, primero la verde, luego la roja y darle la bienvenida al Dios sol encendiendo la de color dorado:
"Yo te invoco Dios Lugh para que tu renacimiento se de en la tierra, en mi coraz'on, en mi hogar y te ofrendo este fuego. HA GIRADO LA RUEDA Y ENTRE LAS RAMAS DEL PINO SAGRADO VEREMOS SURGIR LOS RAYOS DEL JOVEN DIOS SOL."
En el c'aliz puedes depositar una naranja representando al Dios sol que nace del vientre de la Gran Madre:

New Moon is here and for me it certainly signifies a huge transition. Just got back from a much needed vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth 5 days ago and I am finally beginning to feel re-energized.
I've made some career transitions over the last 2 months and everything is falling into place. I work 'full time' for Demand Studios as a freelance writer and part time for other freelance companies: Break Studios, Experts123 and The Content Authority. Demand Studios is my main source of income. I have a blog With that being said, this new transition has allowed me to find more free time for vacationing with my family and doing other things I love, like blogging and frolicking in the meadows. For the 15th year in a row, a Christian ministry will not be allowed to stage cage fighting matches at the Bolingbrook Village Picnic. The Civic and Cultural Affairs Commission rejected a last minute appeal from Full Contact Gospel Ministry on Saturday.
"We're disappointed." Said Teacher Lenny Z. Hopson. "But we understand that God punches us in the soul so that we may build up our spiritual fortitude. We'll try again next year."
According to the ministry's filing, they wanted to host a "Test your faith" demonstration on the main stage, in addition to putting up an information booth at the Picnic. Members of the audience would be invited to step into their octagon and challenge a fighter to two rounds of combat.
"What better way to show that faith conquers all, than to prove it through trials of combat? The UFC is full of Christian fighters. We're just taking their lessons and teaching them to Bolingbrook's lost residents."
When their application was initially rejected, one of the reasons listed was that all the blood in the octagon might offend attendees. Hopson laughed when he read it.
"The blood in the octagon is nothing compared to the blood our Lord Jesus Christ shed for our sins!" Said Hobson. "The families of Bolingbrook celebrate his torture, death and resurrection every Sunday, and they're not offended. Why should they be offended if I break someone's arm in the name of our Lord? If I save their soul in the process, then my opponent will feel that it was worth all the pain, and the medical bills!"
At the appeals hearing, sources say that FCGM held a match in the Village Board Meeting Room. The commission watched as one fighter, Michael, fought for five rounds against a different opponent each round. He faced off against a Jewish fighter, a Muslim fighter, a Hindu fighter, a Buddhist fighter, and an atheist fighter. Michael knocked out the Jewish fighter, and then submitted the next three fighters. During the last fight, the atheist managed to pin Michael on his back, and started punching him.

NorthWest Lousiana Pagan Pride Day
WOW! What a weekend! OK, so it wasnt a large festival with bands and such. It was a small event with a handfull of vendors, some speakers but alot of fun. My roommate and I are vendors we sell Mia Bella Gormet Candles. Be sure to visit and sign up to win a free candle, just click the jar candle at the top of the page.
Aside from selling the candles, i had the bright idea to sell Cokes and Water. Last year there wasnt much of either and people where hot and dehydrated. I also bougt a 50 pack of chips in case people get the munchies. It was great, i sold most of the cokes, half of the water, and some of the chips. From what i understand next year theyre going to try and have a coke trailor and sell fountain cokes. Thatll be great.
Aside from us selling candles and drinks. There was the Enchanted Forest, the shop owner, Tindy, makes jewelry, wands and staffs. Very Pretty stuff, my roommate even bought one of the wands for me, for an early birthday present :) Im waiting on Tindy to send the picture of me holding it with a shocked look on my face :)
The Gem Tree, custom Jewelry, was accross from Tindy, he had more of the cut stones avaliable and some set in jewlery peices. The last booth indoors was The Twisted Cauldron, run by BJ and Sam. a really nice couple with a cute baby who had her baby blessing ritual at this Event. They sell herbs and oils, some Across from Bud and Jackie was Tuts Toys. Sharon sold some egyptian figurines, and had a few peices of anime artwork.
Also selling outside at the event was Apache Tears. As far as i know there isnt a web site. but she sold some candles, soaps, jewelry and head dresses, Which i bought one. Ill try and get a picture of me in it later ;)

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a popular East Asian celebration of abundance and togetherness, dating back over 3,000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty. In Malaysia and Singapore, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or "Mooncake Festival."
The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (usually around mid- or late-September in the Gregorian calendar), a date that parallels the Autumn Equinox of the solar calendar. This is the ideal time, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, to celebrate the abundance of the summer's harvest. The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.
The Moon Festival is full of legendary stories. Legend says that Chang Er flew to the moon, where she has lived ever since. You might see her dancing on the moon during the Moon Festival. The Moon Festival is also an occasion for family reunions. When the full moon rises, families get together to watch the full moon, eat moon cakes, and sing moon poems. With the full moon, the legend, the family and the poems, you can't help thinking that this is really a perfect world. That is why the Chinese are so fond of the Moon Festival.
The Moon Festival is also a romantic one. A perfect night for the festival is if it is a quiet night without a silk of cloud and with a little mild breeze from the sea. Lovers spend such a romatic night together tasting the delicious moon cake with some wine while watching the full moon. Even for a couple who can't be together, they can still enjoy the night by watching the moon at the same time so it seems that they are together at that hour. Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date. "HOW DO I HELP MY CHILD MEMORIZE SCRIPTURE?" A mother asked.
I shared with her my way. Nothing spectacular or fancy.
I've found that the best way to teach anything and anyone is through consistency and routine.
MY HEART IS VERY PURPOSEFUL WHEN IT COMES TO TEACHING MY CHILDREN ABOUT THE BIBLE AND GOD.
I'm always looking for opportunities for us to God-talk.
Sometimes when I'm doing laundry I'll have the younger kids assist. WHILE WE'RE TAKING CLOTHES OUT AND PUTTING CLOTHES IN WE MAY DISCUSS RIGHT AND WRONG OR VENGEANCE. This is not by accident, though, they don't know it. It's purposeful.
ANOTHER WAY I TEACH THEM IS TO LITERALLY SIT DOWN FOR BIBLE READING AND TALKS. Sometimes I do this with one child, other times it's done with a few and still other times I include all of them. It just depends on what I've purposed in my heart for them at the time. Here's what I mean:
"~ DO I WANT TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH ONE CHILD THAN ANOTHER?"
"~ AM I TRYING TO TEACH MY BOYS ABOUT RELATING TO WOMEN, OR AM I TEACHING MY GIRLS HOW TO BE MORE LADY LIKE?"
The answer to those questions will determine how I spend my time with them.
One of the things I've done since my children were very young was make them have quiet alone time for an hour. I have a timer that I set for an hour. Each child is responsible for getting somewhere, where they can be by themselves. I learned this method from Elisabeth Elliot's daughter Valerie who has eight children that she use to home school. Eight children who were very well behaved.
TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN TO BE STILL AND HOW TO PLAY ALONE REALLY HELPS THEM IN LEARNING HOW NOT TO BECOME BORED EASILY. THEM LEARNING TO BE ALONE HELPS THEM LEARN TO REST AND IT HELPS THEM SEE THAT THEY DON'T ALWAYS NEED TO BE BUSY RUNNING TO AND FRO TO HAVE FUN.
Okay, back to the teaching of Scripture, the children and I find our little haven, a place where we won't be interrupted much and we sit and talk. We talk before I read and we talk after I read. They ask a lot of questions and I do my best to answer.
Some of my children absorb more at bed time. Often times that's when they do most of their talking- confessing and tattling.
WHY IS SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION IMPORTANT?
The Bible tells us that when the tempter approached Jesus, Jesus said, "IT IS WRITTEN, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD."
OUR CHILDREN WILL BE TEMPTED IN LIFE, THAT'S A FACT, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE TO SUCCUMB TO TEMPTATIONS.
JESUS WAS ABLE TO RESIST THE DEVIL TAUNTS BECAUSE HE KNEW SCRIPTURE AND HE OBEYED IT.
God's Word is our sword in spiritual combat.
TEACHING OUR CHILDREN TO HIDE GOD'S WORD IN THEIR HEARTS IS TANTAMOUNT TO THEM DEFEATING TEMPTATION. SO REMEMBER TO-
* FIND A QUIET SPOT WHERE YOU AND YOUR CHILD {REN} CAN CUDDLE AND READ BIBLE PASSAGES.
* AFTER READING-TALK. TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU READ.
Do the same thing the next day, and for the rest of the week. You will be surprised at what they have learned in a short amount of time.

Years ago when I was a baby Christian, I was being challenged in my faith by a run of the mill hedonist with pagan inclinations. Hi, if you're reading. One thing that he kept advising me to do was watch the movie "Frailty." I eventually did and thought it was an o.k. movie, and wondered why he had wanted me to watch it, because at that immature stage in my Christian walk I thought the character was somewhat justified in his actions and wasn't sure why he'd wanted me to watch.
Of course I also sort of supported the unjust wars being waged, but I digress.
The movie, for those who haven't seen it, is about a guy (Bill Paxton, the "game over man!" guy from Aliens, or as MST3K called him, former star Bill Paxton) who wakes up one day and sees light reflecting off an angel staue/trophy, has a vision, and "receives a message from God," really an angel. The dad basically gets told that the world is going to end soon, and that his family's mission is to kill people who are actually demons to help save the world. As he explains his mission to the kids, he reveals that the angel called he and his kids "God's hands," and with "magical weapons," they will "fight and destroy demons".
Endowed with ordinary, but somehow "special" gloves, a length of pipe, an axe named "Otis", and a fanatical devotion to his vision, the dad of the family goes on an axe-murder spree killing people who were actually really bad people, in an effort to save the world from the devil and fulfil his mission to rid the world of evil.
As he goes about his mission, he touches people to make sure they are demons, to see their sin, and then he kills them. In disposing of the bodies, the dad says the angel was very specific about how to do it all, and that the bodies were to be buried properly, hinting very subtly or unintentionally that this might be some sort of ritual.
One of his sons though, understandably has some misgivings about this mission and in particular, the killing people part. That makes perfect sense. But because of his doubts, dad suspects he's a demon and locks him up until he sees a vision. This son fakes a vision, then kills dad when it's his turn to destroy a demon.
Years later the "demon son" has become a serial killer trying to get his "holy" brother arrested because holy brother has taken up dad's mantle as demon killer. Holy brother eventually kills demon brother and leads a cop (who is also a murderer) to the site of demon destruction, then kills him. It's revealed at the end that dad and holy brother actually seem to have some sort of supernatural power as video cameras can't identify him and no one recalls his appearance. The film also does a reveal of the evil that the demon folk/Paxton's murder victims had done, which is what was seen when they were touched pre axe murder.
We're left with the impression that the supernatural serial murders, aka, demon destruction was actually God's mission and the dad and holy brother were doing God's work.
At the time, I hadn't thought much about it. After all, the people he killed were child molestors, or other baddies, and figured maybe he had been justified and given a real mission by God in the fictional context of the movie.
In retrospect, I think the reason this "friend" had wanted me to see the movie was to undermine my faith and show me that faith in God is irrational, and can cause people to do crazy things if they think God told them to do it. He perhaps wanted me to see that faith in God brings out fanaticism. Certainly at that time people were using God as an excuse for war, and people often say that God told them to do things. Not to mention the horrors of history like the cruades, inquisition, and so on. On a surface level for those who don't do their homework or understand the Bible, there is that issue to deal with.
It's not unit recently when I was hit with a realization, out of nowhere as I hadn't seen the movie in years.
This realization is that if you view this movie with a Biblical perspective, Bill Paxton's character and his son were being used by a demonic spirit or fallen angel. And it's quite obvious once you realize it.
The Bible admonishes us to:
1 John 4:1 - 3
"1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, wher ye have heard that it should come; and even now already"
Nowhere in this movie does anyone even come close to attemping this. Paxton sees a shiny light, thinks he hears a message from God and off he goes.
However, we should also add a little more check to the above test, because a spirit that doesn't emphasize the Gospel and Christ's deity, humanity, death and resurrection isn't to be trusted. Especially if they coerce one into murder.
Apostle Paul warns:
Galatians 1:8
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
And we know already that had Paxton's character read his Bible, and examined his mission in light of that, he would have seen that the angel who gave him the message wasn't on the up and up. The angel instructed him that in order to save the world, he had to destroy "demons". In other words, the angel gave him a different Gospel because the world (that is the people of the world) has (have) already been saved by what Christ did. This angel wanted Paxton to add to that or do something else in place of that.
And of course, "the gospel message is simple: "That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4).

I strongly believe that Christians should not take counsel from non-believers. I also do not believe that Christians should take counsel from secularized "Christian Counselors." Unfortunately, the "Christian Counselor" often has more in common with secular psychology than the Bible. Not in every case of course, and I do not wish to highlight the differences here but much wisdom and discernment is needed before proceeding with a "Christian Counseling" relationship.
A Christian should not take counsel from unbelievers because the unbeliever has as their authority social morays and personal values, all which are subjective and changeable. The biblical counselor has the Holy Spirit and He is the One who enables us to give spiritual wisdom. No Christian counselor is worth is salt if he or she is not able to give spiritual wisdom for worldly wisdom is not eternal.
Our wisdom comes from the Bible. (Rom.15:4) the Holy Spirit makes the Word of God alive to us and enables it to feed our hearts and minds. It brings encouragement and hope to us for the future and the promise of change. The Holy Spirit provides the desire for change. Apart from Him none of us would ever desire anything of God.
He has to draw us to Himself and the Spirit does that. He also provides the ability to change. Because all true change is first heart change, a person must be indwelt by the only One who can change the human heart. The Holy Spirit also brings the righteousness of Christ, the desire for the Word, and the love for the counselee that we need to minister to them.
The Holy Spirit also teaches us what is important to God. He teaches us what is important to God and "makes" it important to us. Without His influence and leading, we would not care what is important to God. He also sensitizes us to the things of God, and His presence in our lives is why we can literally hurt inside when we see ungodliness.
The counselee also has to have all these things. An absence of these qualities would be a good reason to question the counselee about their salvation. To be qualified as a biblical counselor also means that the person's character is visible as proceeding from the Holy Spirit and our lives are characterized by Eph.
4:1, and Gal. 5:16, and Rom 15:16. We have to be examples - not sinless perfection- but have some measure of obvious growth in overcoming sinful problems of our own. We must be striving toward living by the Spirit and not gratification of the lusts of the flesh. People should be convinced as Rom 15:14 says that we are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.
Each person who desires to disciple another really ought to see to fulfill the requirements for Deacons and Elders as stated in 1 Timothy 3. This is not to look good to others for the sake of pride, but it is so that we can state with confidence "imitate me as I imitate Christ" as Paul did (1 Cor. 11:1)

The Church of England as a truly bible believing church of Jesus Christ died long ago, and now is "Christian" in name only having tossed aside all manner of doctrine in order to tickle the ears of those few that still sit in her pews.
A few days ago we posted a blog entry in which we noted the many persecuted believers in the world and how their Christianity cor Well today we can equate the Church of England and her desire to take up a more pagan spiritual program as the dead church of Sardis, (another Revelation church), in which Jesus had little good to say. This church thought it was still alive, but had become so compromised in its teaching and doctrine that it had little value or substance. We found the following quote when researching for this blog entry which pretty much says it all regarding the sad state of affairs that existed in the Revelation church of Sardis and sadly correlates with the present day Church of England:

CHURCH OF ENGLAND TO BLEND CHRISTIANITY WITH PAGANISM TO ATTRACT SPIRITUALISTS

Reverend Steve Hollinghurst, a researcher and adviser in new religious movements told the BBC: "I would be looking to formulate an exploration of the Christian faith that would be at home in their culture." HE SAID IT WOULD BE "ALMOST TO CREATE A PAGAN CHURCH WHERE CHRISTIANITY WAS VERY MUCH IN THE CENTRE."

I read this today on a forum I read and wanted to post this here to stir discussion. I formally state that I take no sides other than in making sure what is called Golden Dawn remains true to the Tradition, a point of interest of a few public Orders. The intent of this post is to stir dialectic.

It comes down to this:
What distinguishes the Golden Dawn Tradition from the Left Hand Path
is a belief that there is a Macrocosm that matters.
In Thelema, Chaos Magic and those pseudo-Golden Dawn Orders that are
kin to them in doctrine, the fundamental belief is that your Microcosm
is King. You define what meaning and power there is in a symbol. No
outside force can change what you put into it. You define what is
right and wrong for yourself. No other person, group or entity has any
say in the matter. Established and time-tested Tradition is
meaningless. All that matters is what you feel about a magical formula
and the rationalizations that satisfy you that it is acceptable as you
believe it to be. In fact, nothing is really required of these Left-
Hand Path practitioners save that they further themselves in
these "virtues" and empower Self evermore.
Traditional Golden Dawn practice, on the other hand, is an
equilibrated path. There is indeed a Microcosm, and it does effect a
great deal in your experience. But, there is also a Macrocosm. A
greater Universe beyond the self that also influences what is True and
what is False, what is Right and what is Wrong, and what a symbol's
power truly is outside of personal choice, human psychology and
cultural history. It is what unites us together as a whole Creation.
Indeed, the Microcosm is an equal player, but likewise, so is the
Macrocosm unavoidable. The Golden Dawn magician does not develop
magical formulae that feel good and cool and then find rationalizations
to back it up, for that merely serves the ego to over-ride Truth.
Rather, a Golden Dawn magician uses their magical power and practice to
seek selflessly and honestly after the Truth and how to apply it in
one's personal Microcosm in a meaningful way. But, as was learned
following the Great Schism, such a magician must not seek to impress
their personal enlightenment on another.
Left hand Path magicians, as individualistic as they purport
themselves to be, in groups tend to be quite controlling. They are
just more subtle about it. And, its not surprising for self is the
ultimate virtue in such a philosophy. For a magician to respect the
needs of another magician to grow in a time-tested Tradition without
personal alterations sullying it, they would have to be selfless.
Selflessness requires a belief that there is a Macrocosm that matters
outside the Microcosm. This is something a Left-Hand Path magician
lacks and in the end, no matter how loud their declarations that they
value selflessness so that they may sound good to themselves and
others, their actions speak the opposite.
It is selfless and right to provide new magicians with an unaltered,
time-tested Tradition and to allow them to interpret it in their own
way and apply it in their own lives as they discover their True and
Divine Will. This is the essence of true Golden Dawn practice. On the
other hand, it is selfish and controlling to do violence to a Tradition
in altering it significantly to fit one's personal revelations and
feeding it to many new minds as something it is not.
One example: Let's change the godforms of the Neophyte Initiation
and put an entirely different force on the Throne of the Hierus. Say,
Set for instance, because we feel its right and we have a long list of
right-sounding arguments to rationalize it. We may have had the
benefit of a Traditional Golden Dawn upbringing. But, our magical
experience and study has given us the authority and right to deny that
to others. And, to hell with anyone who says different! We will just
slam them every chance we get and with self-righteous protestations
demand an apology for their offense to our beliefs!
This example is like a priest walking up to the altar and turning the
Cross upside down stating that Judas Iscariot will now be worshipped as
the Messiah. Such a group, if it were to exist, would certainly have a
right to their beliefs, but they could not walk about claiming they are
Catholics with any degree of intellectual or spiritual integrity.
Likewise, those pseudo-Golden Dawn Orders who claim the name and
Tradition but also the authority to significantly twist it to their
personal revelations and serve it on a platter labeled "Golden Dawn"
lack intellectual and magical integrity. Regardless of how thoroughly
such groups have convinced themselves and others by argument of the
value of such changes. Its not Golden Dawn anymore. Its a new
creation, or possibly old, but certainly mislabeled and misadvertised.
And, those who do practice and serve within a Traditional Golden Dawn
Order have a right to complain. No consumer would put up with such
wholesale misadvertising in their material food and needs, how much
more so should neither spiritual seekers put up with it in their
spiritual instruction and guidance. And those in the know have the
responsibility to say so.
