Who Wants Leftovers Tonight

Have you ever asked this question? Sure you have those casseroles or soups that taste better the second day but for the most part I bet you would prefer a freshly cooked meal over one that you have to warm up in the microwave.


I know plenty of people who will flat out not eat leftovers simply because that food is not the full meal deal they've already had. For them leftovers are considered second-rate food and could never be as satisfying as the first course.


If no one really loves leftovers then...WHY DO WE SO OFTEN GIVE OUR GOD, OUR SPOUSES AND OUR KIDS WHAT IS LEFT OVER OF US? Don't they deserve the full meal deal from us? I'm quite certain they do.

MY GOD DESERVES MY BEST AND FIRST COURSE EVERY TIME - MATTHEW 22:37


In order to give my God, my wife and my kids my best and not my leftovers, I have to prioritize.


MY GOD IS FIRST and I should devote time each day in Prayer and reading scripture. I should also be serving others both in the church and where there is need.


MY WIFE IS SECOND and I should focus on the needs of my wife and make sure to always pursue her.


"BY THE WAY - THE DAY WE QUIT PURSING OUR SPOUSES IS THE DAY THAT SATAN WILL AND HE WILL DO EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO WIDEN THE GAP BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE. "


MY KIDS ARE THIRD but they are not any less important. They need me more than they need "stuff" and they need me to be their primary disciple teacher...not the church. They need me to teach them how to Go into this world and live life with Christ in the center of their lives.


BOTTOM LINE - None of them deserve my leftovers!


This might mean that in the big picture, I have to:

Give up a few things such as hobbies, sports, games and other time wasters.

*

Leave work at work and don't bring it home.

*

Remember that my family is my legacy and my life with God is now and forever.

Where do we find these neutrals, or just what is this process of

neutralization?

We have seen it in the Conciliar Church, where people who

seem to be do-gooders prefer to fight on the inside. They get up

petitions to bishops to have the traditional Mass said in

parishes, or they write letters to Rome to beg those authorities

to put pressure on the Modernist bishops to have the Latin rite.

I read that one individual spent about eight years doing

this in his diocese, only to be rebuffed each time. He finally

wrote a letter to Latin Mass magazine with the implication that

maybe Archbishop Lefebvre was really right.

The trouble with this type of action is that it really

accomplishes nothing. It also shows ignorance of what the

structure of the Catholic Church is. It is not a democracy. It

is a theocracy with the pope ruling as a monarch.

The ruling authorities know what they are doing. They have

been repressing traditional Catholicism for at least twenty

years, and they seem quite content to continue their present

course.

Endless petition writing is not working. But what this

means is that the worker is neutralized, and it is better for the

Modernists that these people be kidded into thinking that they

are doing something positive. It would be terrible if they would

leave the ranks to support the terrible traditionalists who are

fighting them "TOOTH AND NAIL."

There are others who stay in the parishes and seem to be

unhappy, but they continue little protests by kneeling instead of

standing for Communion or fighting to get in line to have

Communion from the priest instead of the lay minister. As you

see, many of these people are just ignorant of the battle that is

going on and are confused.

There are others who have left the fight, and they have fled

to the Eastern Rites such as the Byzantine or the Ukranian Rites.

They find everything peaceful there, and they seem content to

have given up the struggle. Well, what is wrong with this?

These people fail to see the big picture. The devil has

made the Latin Rite the object of his central attack. It is in

the Latin Church that the head of the Church resides. The Pope

is the Patriarch of the ancient Latin Rite. Destroy this church,

and you destroy the Church.

In this battle we need all the help that we can get, and

anyone who is neutralized is just another dead body as far as the

devil is concerned.

We have had several chapel members who have fled to Eastern

rites and after some time realized that this was not really

right. They have come back to the Latin Rite and continued the

fight despite all the work and sacrifice involved.

If you are one of our readers who is upset by this article,

I hope that you don't harbor me any ill will. Hopefully, you

will give this some thought, and with some prayers to our Lady

and our Lord, you will be lead back to your home and come to join

us in this spiritual combat for the Latin Church and for our Holy

Father, the Pope, who must be suffering very much. He needs all

the help that he can get.

In the end it might be the traditional Latin Rite Catholics

that will make the difference and even help save the Eastern

Rites, which will also be affected in the end.

There is this constant tug-of-war in our lives where we feel pulled in two different directions. The world is constantly tugging at us, offering us the blessings of uniformity, of conformity, of living out our teenage dreams or of relinquishing our roles as a mom or dad like everyone else. The world desires an end to war, an end to our fighting spirit. It seeks our peaceful surrender, the peace of knowing that "progress" is inevitable! It promises us the riches of going with the flow, of a smooth sailing over the falls.


Of course, the Lord is tugging as well. He is doing the exact same thing but in the opposite direction. He is tugging at us to be "a benefit" to others, a blessing to our family and nation. He wants our allegiance, our pledge of allegiance to remain "under God". He seeks and encourages our fighting spirit. He wants us to fight, and fight till the very end. He wants us to fall in line, but on the right side of the line. He is not interested in us feeling good about ourselves. Rather, He wants us to be good. And there is a huge difference between the two.


Moses tells his people exactly what the Lord asks of them. He tells them, "Serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul." Will this not be a blessing, a benefit to family and country? He continues, "Keep the commandments and statues of the Lord...Circumcise your hearts and be no longer a stiff-necked...Show no favorites and take no brides. Is the Christian not a blessing to society?


The disciples, during Christ's ministry on earth, were in a constant tug-of-war. They felt the tug to conform, to not offend anyone, especially the elders and the Pharisees. Before Peter could even open up his mouth, the Master was asking him a question. "What is your opinion Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take tolls or census tax? From their subjects or from foreigners? The answer is obvious: from foreigners. "But that we may not offend the collectors of the temple tax, go to the sea, drop in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up. Open its mouth and you will find a coin worth twice the temple tax. Give that to them for me and for you.


The disciples were simple men who loved their nation, their culture, and their families. The Lord taught them that if they truly loved these things, then they must love the Lord above all these things. Otherwise, they would soon enough conform and submit to everything below these things.


If we know anything about the Jewish people it is their tendency to stick together, especially during tough times. There is no doubt in my mind that they must have felt like outcasts, outsiders when their own rejected them or became angry over the words spoken by Christ. After all, to be enemies of the Pharisees and scribes meant to be enemies of the men who had worked so hard in keeping their nation together.


May we never forget that when a Christian stands out, stands up for God and His faith, then he is truly standing up and standing out for his neighbor, his friends, his family and his country.


God. Family. Country. As long as there are Christians in the world, then you can be sure that God will be known, family will be protected and country will be defended.


Just recently, the Hungarian people ratified their new Constitution. It is a masterpiece! They have learned from us, from our past mistakes. They have done what we should have done. It will go into effect on January 1st, 2012. Here are some its articles:

Hungary shall promote the commitment to have and raise children...Human dignity shall be inviolable. Everyone shall have the right to life and human dignity; the life of the fetus shall be protected from the moment of conception."

Doing Something About State Promotion Of Religion

English: It represents the 1905 law on secularity in France, and more info is found there about its legal state. (Photo I am an atheist. I think it would be great if there were more atheists, but I really don't care a great deal about trying to persuade anybody to give up their superstitions. Many believers have told me that they need their religious beliefs and cannot imagine life without them. I tend to think that they are quite a bit stronger than they realize, but I'll take them at their word.

Atheism does not have to be for everybody. I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with are the widespread efforts by many religious believers to have the state promote their religious beliefs.

We are all familiar with the overt efforts by religious conservatives to enter our bedrooms and impose their antiquated morality on us. They seek to restrict reproductive freedom while simultaneously opposing contraception and sex education. They want to tell adults who they can and cannot marry. They advocate censorship and would love to punish blasphemy. They even have the nerve to prohibit us from buying or selling alcohol on Sundays. Most atheists and many religious moderates recognize these as overreaches of the sort that turn many people off to religion. Why? Because they involve "restricting someone's freedom" on questionable grounds.

What only atheists and a small number of religious liberals seem to recognize are the far more frequent and much subtler ways the state promotes religion. Here in the bible belt, one can find Christian flags in government buildings, nativity scenes in capitol buildings, sectarian prayers offered at virtually any government function. I have personally witnessed prayers referencing Jesus multiple times at the commencement ceremonies of a state university. I have been in meetings with high-ranking university administrators that were opened with sectarian prayers. I have heard reports of sectarian prayers during mandatory jury selection, fierce religious bullying at public schools (sometimes including teachers), and religiously-motivated vandalism (indicated by notes left at the scene).

I understand that some atheists regard some of these examples as trivial, advising me to "pick your battles." In my youth, I would have eagerly heeded this advice out of a combination of fear and a desire to fit in. These days, not so much. I'm tired of holding my tongue. I realize that through my silence, I have become part of the problem.

As I have started to find my voice, I've learned something extremely valuable: some of my complaints have been effective. That's right, some of my complaints have actually resulted in positive change. Imagine that! And nearly every time, the initial response has been the same, "Oh, I had no idea. Nobody has ever complained before." So before we complain, maybe we should try...complaining.

The Incredible Influential Power Of Music

What is it about music that moves us in so many different ways? The rhythm begins and we slide onto the dancefloor, gyrating to the beats; a guitar strikes a chord and we throw ourselves into the crowd, surfing across a sea of hands; a favourite song comes on the radio and we sing along at the top of our voices, oblivious to the looks of bemusement coming from other drivers stuck in the traffic jam. The right songs can change the way we feel in an instant, as effective as the mood pills consumed in Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

I recently had the good fortune to attend a live performance of Beethoven's legendary 9th Symphony. While it is something of a clich'e - and perhaps exaggeration - to call this "the greatest music ever written" it's certainly an intensely powerful experience which has endured the test of time, remaining one of the most popular pieces on the classical repertoire. The impact of "Ode to Joy" may have suffered from its commercial overuse (countless corporations have used it to sell their products and services) it nevertheless still managed to visibly move the audience to tears and, finally, rapturous applause.


This is an example of the immense power music can have over us. Our tastes may differ but music's ability to move us on a deeply emotional level is universal - like the madeleine cake in Marcel Proust's "In Search of Lost Time", music can trigger profound memories which previously lay dormant, exciting our sense of nostalgia and creating intense feelings of joy or melancholy. There is something ineffable about the way in which music makes us feel, as if at its most profound level it takes us into the realm of the sacred, where words can no longer do justice and attempts to describe it only sully the experience.


The idea that music connects us to something divine and spiritual is not a new one. Johann Sebastian Bach -arguably the grandfather of the Western musical tradition, whose works including the sublime "The Well-Tempered Clavier" profoundly influenced generations of composers - once said, "The final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the spirit." From Apollo, the Greek god of music and light, to the Gregorian chants of the Roman Catholic Church, the association between music and the divine is deep-rooted in culture and history. For some, music itself is their religion - in the words of the legendary Frank Zappa, "Music is the only religion that delivers the goods."


But long before Bach asserted that "music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul," another great historical Western thinker was developing his own theory of music and its place in the cosmos. After hearing the tones emanating from a blacksmith's forge and observing their musical quality, Pythagoras went home and experimented with his single string instrument the lyre, leading to his discovery of the octave which was to have such a profound impact upon the nature of music. Like Bach, Pythagoras saw music as a force that, in its highest form, offered something transcendental to the human experience, believing that "the highest goal of music is to connect one's soul to their Divine Nature, not entertainment."


His deduction that sound was based on a purely mathematical formula would lead him to propose that music could be used to heal "non-virtuous" thoughts such as anger, as well as physical ailments including sciatica, sitting with the patient while playing the kithara and singing along with it. His ideas reflect what some ancient cultures appear to have known intuitively - music therapy is, after all, of ancient provenance, for example the aboriginals of Australia are known to have used the didgeridoo to heal broken bones.


Pythagoras' discovery of the "music of the spheres" went beyond its application as a means of physical and psychological healing -he conceived of the universe as a vast lyre in which planets harmonized with other heavenly bodies -an endless, intergalactic mellifluous interaction reverberating through space and time. "Music "was "number, and the cosmos was music." There is something mystical about this interpretation which no doubt stems from Pythagoras' extensive travels and possible initiation into the Egyptian Mystery Schools. Pythagoras was without a doubt a candidate for what we consider a polymath; a man of a higher nature with the ability to reach celestial realms. Did he intuit something about the musical nature of the universe?


His theories had a profound influence on numerous thinkers over the following generations. Philosophers such as Boethius, Johannes Kepler and Robert Fludd took Pythagoras' monochord - the single string instrument - in new directions, with Kepler in the 17th century attempting to define a harmony of the world in his opus "Harmonices Mundi", an attempt to unify music and movement within the solar system.


By the 20th century Pythagoras was influencing Werner Heisenberg and the new field of quantum physics. According to William Irwin Thompson in his book "Darkness and Scattered Light", when Heisenberg lectured on Pythagorianism "you will hear him emphasize that the basic building blocks of nature are number and pattern, that the universe is not made out of matter, but music." The energy of the octave - the magical number 8 - occurs not only in a number of mystical traditions, from the Taoists I Ching to the 8-fold path of Buddhism, but also features prominently in genetic science, with the "language" of DNA and RNA based in groups of 64 codons, or 88.


The very words we use to describe music directly correspond to emotional and spiritual principles. When something rings true to us it resonates, often with rich significance evoking a strong emotion. When simultaneous notes combine in a chord in a manner pleasing to the ear we call this harmony, just as when people concur in their opinions and feelings and live their lives in agreeable unison we consider this harmonic. Music which triggers certain emotions is understood universally, with scientific studies confirming that music with happy, sad or fearful emotions in Western music are recognized as such by native Africans, just as Westerners appreciate these same qualities in Hindustani music.


Just as music can provoke positive reactions in people, some argue that it can be used negatively in order to detune us from our natural harmonic relationship with the world around us. Since 1953 the International Standards Organization (ISO) has tuned music to 440 hertz, changing it from the previous 432 Hz which was thought to transmit beneficial healing energy. One theory is that this change in frequency was brought about by Nazi Joseph Goebbels, who sought to alter the collective mood and make the populace prisoners of negative consciousness. Music pioneer Leonard Horowitz stated in a paper entitled "Musical Cult Control":

The music industry features this imposed frequency that is 'herding' populations into greater aggression, psycho social agitation, and emotional distress predisposing people to physical illness.

It isn't hard to see the negative impact popular music has on contemporary society - corporate music today is an anathema to the principles of music expounded by the likes of Pythagoras, proposing a crude value system of self-adulation, materialism and greed; manufactured music set the videos replete with negative occult imagery which sexualizes and debases the performer and, by association, the viewer. The power of frequencies to affect the universe has long been understood, and just as it can be used for our benefit so too can it be turned against us. Indeed, sound has already been weaponized in the form of the Long Range Accoustic Device (LRAD), a truck-mounted device which emits pain inducing tones which has already been deployed in numerous war zones in the Middle East as well as the streets of America to use against protesters.


The power of frequencies to affect the world is vast, with the potential to trigger earthquakes and radically alter the geological make-up of the planet. Low frequency bass sounds can alter the path of flowing water so that it falls in a corkscrew, seemingly defying gravity.

This is, of course, an optical illusion - more impressive are the Cymatic experiments, which study the effects of sound waves on water, producing some incredible patterns which bear a striking resemblance to those found in sacred geometry:

Yes... Take them off.

Practice the drill until it gets "hardwired" into your neurology, THEN you can chose to wear them or not even though you MAY be surprised at what happens.

Sometimes these things STILL blow me away.

I was teaching Hakalau to a group, and after the third stage we were doing "the finger test"...

Basically the Testor holds up a finger behind, brings it around the side, to the front, and has the Testie says "OK" when they can see it.

In normal foveal vision (where you're focused on one thing) the finger has to be almost in front of them before they see it.

In regular peripheral vision, most can see it at about a 45 degree angle or better.

In Hakalau, almost everyone can see the finger before it's even with the ear... i.e. BEHIND the 180 degree plane of vision... PHYSICALLY BEHIND THE EYE.

As I was demonstrating this, shrieks came from one group.

They were trying it on someone who is LEGALLY BLIND IN ONE EYE... i.e. no vision except some color smears, and THAT ONLY in the VERY CENTER of his field of vision. (Some of you know him).

So, what happened?

Foveal vision... pretty much a wash.

Peripheral vision... nothing.

Hakalau... he was able to SEE the FULL 180 degree open field of vision... yes... even on the physically blind side.

So we said, "Hmmmm... maybe there's something to this?"

Review:

I've been a bit of a Sarwat Chadda fan ever since I read Devil's Kiss about a year ago, and immediately fell in love with Billi SanGreal and the Knights Templar. The whole concept of the Knights Templar fascinates me, and gives a whole new meaning to the concept of a kick-ass teenage warrior.

Dark Goddess picks up a few months after the events of Devil's Kiss, and centres around a powerful little girl, a group of male Bogatyr warriors, the horrible goddess Baba Yaga and a fierce pack of female Russian Polenitsy werewolves. The action is pretty much non-stop, with intense battles hiding around every corner. True to her calling, Billi steps up and deals with whatever the world throws at her, and is prepared to sacrifice even those closest to her for the greater good.

Dark Goddess is rooted in Russian lore and mythology, which is something I knew nothing about before reading it. I'm so impressed with Chadda's research and attention to detail, as it made the story all the more realistic. Including the famous Romanov family was a cool move, because who doesn't love learning about a Russian Royal Family? Tsarevich Ivan Alexeivich Romanov is hot stuff and, along with Billi, is a bright shining light in this book. I think I'm actually a little bit in love with him, which, y'know, isn't good 'cause he's not real. Oh well, one more fictional boy to add to my wish list...

What could have been improved? Not a lot, really. Maybe a few less long Russian names to remember, and a quicker pace in the odd chapter, but that's about it. Oh, and I wouldn't have said no to a few more vampire attacks (or ghuls, as they're known). So far Chadda has written about angels, vampires, werewolves, goddesses... there really is something for everyone in this series.

As it is, this latest Templar mission is addictive on the hard-to-put-down side of things, and Buffy fans should lap it up. Another bonus is that it can be read as a standalone novel, with all references to Devil's Kiss explained in a way that makes this possible (one spoiler is included, though you'd probably figure it out quite early on in the first book anyway). I'm really hoping there will be another book in this series, though I don't know where that stands at the moment. Fingers crossed and, as Billi would say, Deus vult.

Guest post: Sarwat Chadda on Research

DARK GODDESS is a story I've been planning since 1994, when I first came across stories of an ancient Russian witch. The story came out of my love of history, mythology, Russian fairytales and the desire to give my two daughters a heroine that kicked ass EXTREMELY HARD!

I spent about a year of solid research, as well as utilizing all the background knowledge I'd acquired over the years, to write this book (and is probably why the publication date got moved back!). Research adds depth to your story. You don't see it because you're writing a tale, not a thesis, but it's there, making the roots of what you're saying deeper and stronger.

London is my home city so it was a given that Billi's first adventure, DEVIL'S KISS, would be here. The city has close links with the Templars, the Temple Church still stands here, almost 900 years after it was built. It was very easy to imagine the order still at work, in the city's old ancient alleyways. My background was in construction and I've worked on a lot of old buildings and, while I did projects for the Ministry of Defence, secret ones too.

I love cities. London's been occupied from Roman times and a lot of the streets still follow the original routes laid down by the Romans. There's layer after layer of stories and for a writer it gives you incredibly fertile ground. We've got the Templars, The Great Fire, Black Death and Jack the Ripper. The old Tower of London was a place of beheadings and the foulest of murders. The city is filled with ghosts.

I couldn't ask for a better setting to kick off the series.

DARK GODDESS moves the action to Russia. This presented a brand new challenge and a whole lot of opportunities. The biggest challenge was to make my writing of Moscow and Russia generally as live and lived in as my writing of London. Not easy. The only way to get that authenticity was to go out there and walk the streets, visit the buildings and look into the history. One of the things I'm most pleased with is that by seeing Moscow for myself, a whole new version of the story was created. But I had a lot of help to do it. The city is huge and I'd have been totally lost trying to work it out myself. A guy called Alan Steel runs a tour company called Russian Gateway and he really turned the trip around by organizing a guide and detailed itinerary so I saw what I wanted, and also places that I would have missed, but greatly enhanced the entire story. Plus he did all the Russian translations! A lot of the authenticity of the setting is down to his help.

The city is rich with legends and sights and characters, I could have written a trilogy just set in that one city. By moving Billi to Russia I took her out of her comfort zone and you really get her sense of alienation now she's out of London. The rules are different. The players are different. She can't fall back on the Templars.

Having established the new setting I continued on my research of Russian mythology. The name that came up again and again was the witch, Baba Yaga. She's a hideous, mysterious creature, an old pagan goddess that was made into a fairytale witch during the rise of Christianity. She is a cannibal with iron teeth and a belly-full of hate. I wanted her to reclaim her ancient and terrifying divinity. I wanted to get back to the roots of her power and why people should be afraid of her. She is incredibly old, incredibly wise and incredibly evil. I was lucky enough to visit the caves in Dordogne while writing the first scene where we meet Baba Yaga. These caves have paintings and carvings that are 14,000 years old, from the last Ice Age. This, I realised, was when Baba Yaga had first come amongst mankind. Once I had seen her home, I knew so much more about her. There were paintings of long-horned cattle, of small horses, of mammoths. They're all gone now, but Baba Yaga would have remembered them and when Europe was one vast forest. What must she feel now, seeing the dense clouds of pollution? The smog? The forests gone and replaced by concrete and steel?

Sadness? Yes.

Anger? Oh yes. Great anger indeed.

As well as visiting places I read a lot of female-centric mythology. The writer Angela Carter wrote a collection of short stories centred around werewolves. Werewolves are very feminine. The moon is connected to female deities, like Hecate, the queen of witches. The Amazons' legendary weapon was a lunar axe, and of course the moon cycle is strongly connected to female physiology. Then, in an amazing piece of luck, I discovered the original legends of the Amazons placed them in southern Russia. In an instant I was able to connect them to Baba Yaga. She was the goddess to the Amazons, and she taught her priestesses how to change shape. They were the first werewolves.

Another writer who's been a huge influence is Clarissa Pinkola Estes. She wrote 'Women Who Run with Wolves' and in it she delves into a lot of fairytales and myths, discovering the power of the female figures that, over the centuries, have become passive, sanitized, dependent on men and denied access to their original power. This is something I feel very strongly about. No doubt sparked by having daughters I'm not that impressed by the role of the 'classic' female heroine in literature. Sitting around waiting for some guy to sort out their lives. That it all ends happily ever after at the wedding altar. I prefer the old, ancient heroines. Reading Estes and the works of Robert Graves I rediscovered the more fearsome aspects of the old heroines. The cunning of Penelope. The fury of Athene. Blood-thirsty Morrigan. Of Kali who dances on the corpses of the dead and defends the world from evil. Billi is, in her own way, an old-school heroine. Very old school.

They are terrifying and powerful. They are not to be treated lightly. They are beholden to no man. Baba Yaga is one of these dark goddesses, and so is Billi SanGreal.

Black Diamond Mines

Black Diamond started as a coal mining town in the 1800s. Now, it is considered a ghost town inhabited by two spirits sharing the same nickname, Mary and Sarah.

There's conflicting stories about Mary though I believe the second one. The first states she was hired by a family to be their nanny, but she didn't disclose to her employers that she practice witchcraft. When they found out, they immediately fired her. The next day she was found dead in the mines. How she died is still unknown.

The other has her not only a nanny but one that looked after all the children in the town of Nortonville. Then, all the children died suddenly of mysterious illnesses. The town quickly accused her of witchcraft and was hanged.

Many witnesses over the years have reported seeing a floating bright white apparition near the entrance of the mines. It is believed that she protects children from the dangers inside it. The reports on physical features differ but the similarities have always been that she is either dazzling or bright white. This is how she got the name "White Witch".

Another "White Witch" is said to occupy the Rose Hill Cemetery located on top of a small hill just west of the main entrance to the Black Diamond Park preserve. Sarah Norton, a midwife who died tragically when the carriage she was riding in turned over and crushed her while on her way to deliver a baby, is said to haunt this location. She wasn't know to be a spiritual person and even rejected ceremony.

Her children tried to obey her wishes for no funeral but the towns people decided otherwise. Since she was greatly admired, the entire town of Somersville tried twice to give her a public funeral, but failed when unnaturally fierce storms struck. A third attempt was made, and on this day another fierce storm hit town, but the determined townsfolk decided this time to suffer through the storm and hold the ceremony as planned. And so it was that Sarah Norton was publicly laid to rest within the gates of Rose Hill Cemetery - against her wishes.

Since that day, have reported seeing a white apparition floating between the headstones scattered throughout the cemetery. Sarah Norton hopelessly wanders the cemetery looking for a way to leave. Thus, she shares the nickname "White Witch" with Mary.

The Contra Costa Historical Society does have on record an obituary for one Sarah Norton. The date of death is listed as October 11, 1879 with no cause of death provided.

This morning I am watching the sunrise - this is the first one I've seen in a least a couple of weeks. No, not because I don't get up that early - I do get up very early but because I've living under a thick cloud cover for a couple of weeks now. Yesterday afternoon the sun finally shone here in western PA.

The sky had large blue patches and the night was clear. I saw the disseminating moon this morning and stars. How lovely after being without these sights of nature and the universe. Maybe there will be an end to this endless round of snow and clouds. The picture at the beginning of this blog entry is pretty much what it looks like outside my window as the sun begins coming up over the eastern horizon.

There are no Major or minor magickal energies today - Thursday - Thor's Day - Jupiter Day, a Day of Vision, Spiritual Insight and Expansion.

CLEANSING CARPETS MAGICALLY

Spring is almost upon us and as the days grow longer we start to notice that our homes are no longer as clean and fresh as we would like. Not only that, but there will be trace energies from everyone who has been in the house and everything which has happened there. This has a traditionally been a time of turning out and cleaning and while we no longer scrub the whole house from top to bottom it is good to freshen up the home on both the spiritual and physical levels.

Take 4 oz. (100g) of bicargonate of soda and place in a jar with a lid. Stir in 2 teaspons of dried or fresh lavender, 1 teaspoon of rosemary, 1 teaspoon of chamomile and 6 bay leaves. Put the lid on tightly and draw an invoking pentagram over it. Store in a cool, dark and dry place for 2 weeks. When next you are going to do your vacuuming, sprinkle some of the mixture over the carpet first and leave it for 5 minutes before vacuuming it up again. You may find that it's best to remove the bay leaves before use if your vacuum is likely to struggle with them. When you have finished the whoe house, empty the vacuum so that any residual energies are not still in the home.

This mixture is also very good at removing smells from pets or spills from carpets, althought it they are very strong or persistent you wil need to brush it in and leave it for an hour before vacuuming it up again.

Nighttime maows and mews, my Springtime lovely Kittens... instead of May Day dancing around the maypole, it was a dank, dreary, cold day on the tame prairie, mostly... as the Kougaress did a bit of research on this festive day, which has a rich pagan history, and is celebrated across the pond much more than here in the US... she linked into a nostalgic remembrance of May Day... early in her school days, there was a little maypole we kids walked around tamely... the crepe paper ribbons in bright colors braiding around the pole captured the Kougaress in a magical way, and she recalls being wonderfully mesmerized by the constantly winding colors... and today it struck her, it's a way of...

Spinning Energies into Existence... that is, by whirling, by twirling in dance a vortex of vibration is created, and this Big Cat is reminded of the Sufi dancers, or Dervish dancing... depending on the mood brought forth while dancing around the maypole, joy could be spun into the world, or the community's intention for good fertility, as was the original purpose... but, what better way to create good vibes, to create miracles? Than by a community coming together to dance... imagine the possibilities of dancing, or celebrating in a manner that brings forth goodness and abundance? Not to mention the romantic and erotic possibilities for the adults... but, that's the great thing about dancing, and dancing around a maypole, it can be purely innocent fun for families... or a sensual whirl for lovers.

BTW ~ the Kougaress found this today, but has no idea if it's true ~ *the name "May" comes from a Norse word meaning "to shoot out new growth".*

After a year of infiltrating the public selling of raw milk, a desperate undercover agent finally bought some and transported it over state line, so they could have their big bad fed raid, and make their false case. Raw milk has incredible health benefits, especially for those who don't have an allergy to milk. Cooking, or pasteurizing, and homogenizing milk is what makes it 'unhealthy'. The French don't homogenize, that's one reason they're not overweight as a population. This dirty little secret is perpetrated against the people of America because the big-farm dairies couldn't compete with the small farmers originally, before the sixties. IT'S ANOTHER BIG FAT LIE that has brought down the overall health of Americans. NEVER EVER trust the current corrupt gov when it comes to your precious health. It's all been designed to rape, pillage and plunder you, and your loved ones. Big Daddy/Mommy gov don't love you. It only pretends.

Will there be any good foods? Any good vitamins, minerals and herbs left after the FDA goes total DICTATORSHIP?

The most powerful weapon is the human soul on fire. ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
