Debunking False Pagans

Debunking False Pagans
Merry Meet, all! A few days ago, I ran into probably the most misinformed, hateful, narrow-minded website on paganism that I've ever seen. It's called "The Crooked Heath". Just the name sounds pretentious. I spent a long time reading this site and writing down it's many lies and misinformation. In the days to come, I'll post bits and pieces of the site and refute it so as to better teach us all about real Wicca. Here is what The Crooked Heath says about "real" witches:

"The concepts of SORCERY and MYSTICAL EXPERIENCES are universal, and in the Germanic culture, it was called "Witchcraft", among other things. English Anthropologists started calling every single practicioner of Sorcery worldwide "witches" because that was their linguistic bias, but that DOES NOT make the worldwide sorcerous community "Witches"."

This is 100% WRONG! As we all know, if you practice sorcery then you are indeed a witch if your female and a warlock if your male. I hope no one takes the crooked heath seriously!

"These are the Gand-Riders, the very root of the image of the Broom Riding Witch, flying across the darkened countryside to cross the World Hedge and enter the Hel Meadow and enter the Ancestral Stream. The Cult used "lifting ointments" (composed of Goose fat and belladonna, and incidentally, the Queen of the Witches and Dark Earth Goddess, Fraw Holt/Holda, was associated with Night-flying Geese, themselves thought to be the souls of the dead; all of this being the Origin of 'Mother Goose' in fact) all of which is well attested to in myth and record, all to achieve the "Flight", and they entered into the Hollow under-Earth and met the Queen of Elphen and the Black Goat."

As you can see, this person gives paganism a bad name. This was stolen right out of a faerie tale.

"What about African Witchcraft? There is no such thing. There are no Italian Witches. There are Stregas, Magos, and Strigmagas."

Crookedheath! That is the same thing as a witch! Whether it's a Ford or a Chevy or a Chrysler, it's still a car!

More to come later!
