CRISOPRASA
Color : verde esmeralda, verde manzana.

COMMEMORATED ON AUGUST 22
The Georgian Icon of the mother of God: In 1622 the Persian Shah Abbas conquered Georgia. Many Christian holy things were stolen, and many were sold to the Russian merchants in Persia. Thus, the Georgian Icon of the Mother of God came to a certain merchant named Stephen, who piously kept it.
In Yaroslavl, the merchant George Lytkin, on whose business Stephen was in Persia, received a revelation in a dream about the holy object found by Stephen, and he was commanded to send it to the Chernogorsk monastery in the Arkhangelsk diocese, founded in 1603.
When Stephen returned home in 1629 and showed the icon to George Lytkin, he remembered his vision and he set off to the Dvina outskirts to the Chernogorsk monastery (so called because it was built on a hilly and somber place. From of old it had been named "Black Hill", but afterwards the monastery changed the name to "Pretty Hill".
The icon was glorified there by miracles. In 1654, during a pestilential plague, the icon was transferred to Moscow, and those praying before it escaped the deadly plague. The numerous copies of the icon testify to its deep veneration. In 1658, with the blessing of Patriarch Nikon, there was established an annual feastday of the Georgian Icon of the Mother of God. The service was written in 1698 under the supervision of Theodore Polykarpov of the Moscow printing office.

Agent Orange, back from the land of stomach-shrinking food, where the days were marked by a porcelain figurine beside your pillow every night, like (intro: gas-canister of emo-ness) so many notches in a prison cell.
Beefy
First few days on the island homeland were spent prodding at steaks and bowls of steaming hot velvety beef stew and chunky oxtail soup before conceding defeat a quarter of the way through, leaving the heap of mashed potatoes-in-attendance to stand about morosely. My dining companions, suspicious of such uncustomary display of masticatory bashfulness, have taken to launching themselves across the table and shaking me by the shoulders, crying,"Who are you? What have you done to the real [Shadow]?
Well, it's the same life in which the same God's at work, God the Eternal Constant. But somewhere, a subtle shift, a Neo-and-the-black-cat hiccup in the rolling fabric of luminous green 1s and 0s.
In any case.
Back in Singapore in time for:
the tail end of the Joshua Bell and the Subway Commuters Saga involving Josh and The Gibson and a handsome reportoire of J.S. Bach's "Chaconne, Partita No. 2 in D Minor"; Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria"; Manuel Ponce's "Estrellita"; Jules Massenet's "Thais: Meditation" etc (full audio here), rush-hour commuters hardly batting an eyelid (or unplugging a earhole) and The Washington Post gleefully titling its report "Pearls Before Breakfast", prancing about on an aesthetic high horse, brandishing Kant, Hume and Leibniz and pontificating about art requiring frames; and
the last day of the "Mystery Men" exhibition at the Asian Civilisation Museum: artifacts from excavations in Sanxingdui (, Three Star Mound) (and also Jinsha), Sichuan, China. Most of the artifacts on display were bronze. (Cowry shells from the south China coastline and elephant tusks from Southeast Asia were also unearthed.) The scarcity of contemporaneous Neolithic and early Bronze Age writings on Sanxingdui and the dearth of knowledgeable old men to tap on the shoulder and say,"Mate, is that mask supposed to be Stitch or Spock?" meant that there was alot of guessing going on. (Ancient history's mostly guesstimate, it seems. Always an archaeological discovery waiting to be unearthed below someone's fallow farmland to rewrite history as previously guesstimated.)
Interesting how some of the expert guesses (assumedly untainted by the experts' own culture) approximate biblical history:
THE TREE OF LIFE (img)
Dating from about 1200BCE were 3 bronze trees, one of them 4 metres high. A dragon/serpent intertwines the branches.
Speculation is that this represents a Tree of Life. In Chinese artifactology, carvings of a Tree of Life typically depicted a bird and a dragon, the dragon representing immortality. Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature, features a tree that produces a peach every three thousand years and gives immortality to anyone who eats of it. I expect a few other ancient cultures had a similar Tree of Life thing going.
Some creationists have taken the less-trodden route of suggesting that the Sanxingdui bronze tree actually represents the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and that the people of Sanxingdui are descended from the Chaldeans, Abram's folks.
Still, very Genesis (first book of Bible, not cobwebbed rockers).
BRIDGING THE DIVIDE BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH (img)
Shamans were people through whom there was legitimate access to the divine.
Chinese writings apparently record that around 500BCE, the Chu emperor, King Zhao, was browsing an ancient Shu (whose capital is now thought to be Sanxingdui) edict dated around 1100BCE, ordering that communication between heaven and earth was to be severed. Asking around his imperial court, he was told of the myth behind this curious edict: in ancient times (the irony. What would the good King Zhao have said to us in the present peering at him, frozen in history by words, in the more recently antiquated past?), there was a separation between the divine and human/profane spheres. Only qualified shamans were allowed to bridge the chasm between two spheres. However, some humans took it upon themselves to perform the shamanistic rituals and attempt to access the divine themselves, bringing great disaster upon the country. The edict was meant to restore everything to its proper order.
The shamanic stuff is very Aaronic priesthood and this probably holds true for religious whatnots in most cultures?
Interesting though it may be to suppose that this depiction or that myth all hail from the One True Story told to us in the Bible, the ebb and flow of the latest fad in archaeological trends (Chinese characters reflecting biblical doctrine, evidence for a worldwide flood, several discoveries of Noah's ark) does not affect faith which is grounded, really, on the word of God in the Bible.
Knowledge that the Bible is God's only definitive revelation hailing from none other than the Bible itself a bit circular? Definitely! A terrible logical fallacy? Certainly, by a logician's definition.
But every worldview rests on an ultimate, unquestioned, self-authenticating starting point. Consider the logician's epistemology - why is rationality, as defined, the ultimate criterion for truth?
And if, in reality, the Bible alone is God's definitive word then where else would you be told the truth of this except...in the Bible.
(True, most humans conduct their daily lives with empiricism and evidentialism as our handmaidens and find that them handmaidens do fair work. The Bible doesn't fail in regard to empiricism and evidentialism either, being authenticated (as far as any history can be authenticated) by contemporaneous records, archaeological evidence and tight internal consistency.
However, empiricism and evidentialism glimpse the truth but dimly and shakily.)
Funky museum exhibits may suggest the blindness of humans everywhere without God since the Fall, yet a yearning and groping about to know this same God and order their lives under him. It is God himself who must stoop to reveal himself to puny sightless humans. His word therefore can be the only thing that holds ultimate truth-value.
To know God and to be known by him: dead brilliant.

The usual caveats apply. If you're a minor or don't like stories about girls, or stories about girls who developic titanic strength and huge breasts, don't read this. There's a little sexual activity, and
considerable innuendo, as well. It ain't for kids.
I don't want to offend anyone...well, I don't want to offend anyone important, anyway. Like Senator Exon - I CERTAINLY don't want to
offend him.
By the way, I'd like to let the First Lady know I support her all the way with this subpoena and likely-indictment business. I mean, I'm SURE she and Billy-boy are guilty as HELL, but if we don't support a strong woman hereabouts in alt.amazon-women.admirers, how can we
complain when the magazines are filled with mewling waifs?
Anyway, Hilly, if you're reading this (and I suspect you are, you kinky little cutie), you have our prayers.

Called Tracy today. Wanted to experiment with "Rite of Shiva"
ancient mystical Hindi lovemaking technique I've read of. She made
excuses, didn't seem to want to see me - her voice a little husky.
Denies she has cold or flu. Dumping me?
Perhaps for best. While having trouble coming to terms with
fixation on physically dominant women, may be best to put such
a frail creature as Tracey back on shelf.
Carla, though. She fills my sleep. Is she as strong as me?
Stronger? I need to know.

Strangeness afoot. Tracy and her two cheerleader friends went out
bicycling Saturday, and she's avoided me since.
The summer college prep seminar is in session, roughly half the
junior & senior class is enrolled. Provides excellent opportunity to keep tabs on Tracey. I approached her at her locker this morning,
intending to confront, but felt dizzy, confused when I spoke to her.
Her two cheerleader friends, Karen & Maggie, were there. They
moved very close to me (supported me as I fell?), I felt vaguely
threatened. I remember the whole parade of events as though a
dream.
Oddly arousing. Am I coming down with flu?

Looking over past night's hallucenogenic scribblings, clear that my unusual fetish is occupying my thoughts. Odd that I should imprint
it on Tracey, so small and weak. In fever-dream I imagined her as tall as myself, fabulously muscled and endowed.
Began taking hallucinogens to come into contact with my true mind,
is it leading me astray? Sex magick with Tracey having after-effects?
Perhaps best to focus on 12th grade concerns: chess team,

Yet just writing about Tracey has aroused me. What is happening?

Came in late, record intact.
How did I miss it before? Tracy has grown as tall, if not taller,
than I. Her friends have developed remarkably since last week,
as well. No one seems to have noticed. What is happening?
Last night was like something out of fantasy. Groping think knotted cords of muscle even as I plunged deeper and deeper into a woman so familiar, yet so alien. Breasts ample enough to suffocate pressed
into my face, nipples like little-toes resisting my tongue.
Not in control. I did as she suggested or, at times, commanded.
I have always stood up to bullies, many fights lost, some won. As
worst as I've been tossed around was as nothing compared to
Tracey's gentle power last night. I have never been so aroused.
Still I did not believe my eyes until her blouse came off. The first glimpse of her concave, muscular stomach, followed by her ample
breasts (D - CUP?), and thick pectoral muscles convinced me that
my suspicions were correct. But my reason fled me and faintness
nearly prevailed as her arms and shoulders emerged from beneath
their veil. Thicker and far stronger than have any business being
found on a sixteen-year-old girl, they overwhelmed me before I was
even wrapped within them. And when I was wrapped within them,
I would have done, and WOULD DO, ANYTHING to remain there.
I am in love, but will she still love me, now that she is so much the stronger of us?

Went to the cheerleading practice today, had a chance to size
girls up.
Maggie:
Smallest, least muscular of transformed three.
Breasts very large, movements athletic and confident - perhaps
possessed of enhanced physical strength.
Karen:
Nearly as tall as me. Very large breasts, extremely muscular.
Seems to be even larger today than earlier in week. Still growing?
Enhanced, if not superhuman, strength very likely. Knocked Tracey
over accidentally! Behavior erratic.
Tracey:
Slightly taller than me. Build very athletic, long lean muscles.
Smallest breasts of three, though still very large. Definite enhanced strength.
Noted with irony that Carla, formerly my fantasy woman, now same
height as Tracy, much less muscular, smaller breasts. Seems skinny, underdeveloped, and girlish by comparison.
Fears about Tracey's loss of interest in me seem unfounded. She is
more affectionate than ever. Karen's continued growth raises
questions, though. How large will three cheerleaders get? Will other students experience similar transformations? Tracey refuses to
discuss root of growth. Possibly viral/hormonal disorder. Possibly
magic - black or white? Bicycle trip? Must investigate.
Was Karen making eyes at me?
R.
Such a perceptive boy, isn't he?
Love,
Tracey

Ramayana is a epic in Hindu mythology. It contains accounts of various powerful characters and the
object they owned which reminds us of the advanced technology which they possessed. Because people who made note of these accounts didn't understand these technologies and always presented these things in
the form of magical objects and powers.
One such character in Ramayana is the Demon king Ravana who had magical powers and objects which were really powerful and of advanced technology. He was the king of Lanka and is depicted as a negative
character who kidnapped Rama's wife Sita. One of many objects that he possessed was the Pushpaka Viman(Chariot) which is mentioned when Ravana kidnaps Sita and takes here in the Flying Chariot.
In the Ramayana, the pushpaka ("flowery") vimana of Ravana is described as follows:
"The Pushpaka chariot that resembles the Sun and belongs to my brother was brought by the powerful Ravana; that aerial and excellent chariot going everywhere at will... that chariot resembling a bright cloud in the sky... and the King [Rama] got in, and the excellent chariot at the command of the Raghira, rose up into the higher atmosphere.'"
It is the first flying vimana mentioned in Hindu mythology (as distinct from the gods' flying horse-drawn chariots).
Pushpaka was originally made by Vishwakarma for Brahma the Hindu god of creation, later Brahma gifted it to Kubera, the God of wealth, but was later stolen, along with Lanka, by his half-brother, the demon king Ravana.
Then the miracle-air-chariot of Ravana which is miraculously designed to appear and disappear at the wish of its master, yoked with miraculous mules, and built with its golden wheels and parts, appeared afore Ravana braying noisily. Then he whose voice is strident that Ravana lifted her up by her waist and got Vaidehi up on the air-chariot intimidating her with bitter words.
Most of the Images of the chariot has been represented as a ordinary chariot with bird wings, but again
as said earlier the people who depicted this didn't understand much of the technology and represented
the things in the form which they understood.
There are many evidences found supporting the various events described in Ramayana, so if this legend
is true then defiantly this account described above makes us believe into the advanced technologies Ancient people had.

There are many people who do not understand the significance or symbolism of the Pentacle, sometimes called a pentagram and also a pantacle in the Thelma tradition.
The pentacle is a talisman that represent protection, but more often than not, there is a negative perception of its meaning, usually disinformation at the hands of Hollywood movies and Christian church leaders, who believe it to be symbolic of Satan or Satanic rites and rituals. It has even been inverted to display imagery of an unholy beast, most often tied to Lucifer.
Although some pagan traditions do in fact use the pentacle in those fashions of darkness, MOST do consider the pentacle to be protective and to repel evil and negativity.
It is a 5 point star encased in a circle. The circle represents the cycle of life and death. For truly nothing ever ends. A lush forest is full of life and energy, suddenly burned into ash, representing death and from those ashes, the nitrogen from the ash and other elements fertilize the soil to feed the seedlings beneath the surface giving rise to new life and over time, it will grow once more.
The star with its 5 points represent the 5 elements. In the early years of science, before the discover of elements that we find on the Periodic Table of Elements in modern science, early learners believed that everything was created within the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Interestingly enough, the Japanese also had yet another element of Wood, which was considered to be a combination of each of these elements together in harmony.
Some say that starting from the right side of the pentacle, the first point represents Fire, the second lower right represents Water, the third lower left represents Earth and the upper fourth point represents air.
But what about the 5th Element? No, I'm not talking about the movie. I'm talking about the soul. Spirit if you will. That driving force within us that dwells in the physical and expands into the Universe through the Spiritual. Many traditions call this energy Akasha, which is also synonymous with Magic. The top and fifth point of the pentacle represents the soul of mankind and its dominion over the elements, working together as one!
So you see, we are indeed magic, and if you are Wiccan, you acknowledge the existence of the divine spark of creation of the Goddess and the God that dwells within us that empowers our magic and connects us to everything in the Universe.
So the pentacle symbolizes the cycle of life and our connection to all things, as well as displays our understanding of having power over the elements themselves through our souls.

Often I have listened to those who believe in the power of angels, guides and spiritual powers giving us signs when we ask for help, answers or guidance.
I have heard stories of people seeing certain birds or flowers, words or hearing sounds as a sign that those they are speaking to in different realms or dimensions hear them. I know that people exchange certain words with loved ones to use with mediums to those who have passed over to the other side.
I have known all my life that those who pray often ask to be shown a sign that they are heard or that things will be OK. I can recall my own family members asking to be given a sign that we would survive a family crisis or for a loved one to make it past a serious health issue.
I realize that this goes on all the time with people all over the world but I really did not see it happen first hand until just recently. I am beginning to think if you live long enough and pay attention to the world and people around you -eventually you will experience many things that others seem to miss. I am grateful for all my experiences and will now add this one to those I can only categorize as unknown.
I belong to a large Irish family. One of my relatives is a very spiritual woman who spends a great deal of time talking to and praying to her creator and her angels. She is strong in her relationship with those who guide her and truly feels heard and helped when she reaches out for the help of her spiritual guides.
Another member of our family was seriously ill and due to have a dangerous difficult operation. Everyone was concerned for this family member..
A day or so before the surgery was to take place a few of my brothers and sisters along with three cousins and two aunts all went to lunch together. We were in the habit of doing this often as it was a easy way to keep the family news flowing with so many of us spread out with large families of our own.
During this lunch visit my spiritual relative told us she had been praying for our family member who was about to have his extremely dangerous operation. She told us we all had to join hands and ask those who help and guide us to look out for him as he was still needed by his family and losing him would be a tremendous tragedy. We joined hands and prayed as a family. Just before ending the request for help given out to the universe and those who look over us our spiritual relative added " And please give us a sign today that you have heard our request and that you are there looking over our family".
We all whispered amen and began to look over our menus to order lunch. As we sat talking about what to eat one of my brothers was nagging at another one to move out of his way from the table, as he wanted to get something out of his car. We all shoved around to let my one brother make his way from the table. He had been sitting against a wall. When he finally got free of the table and walked away his chair was left empty exposing the wall behind him. The rest of us remained glued to our menus until a cousin sitting facing the spot my brother had just moved from blurted out "Oh good God - I don't believe it". We all looked at her and followed her eyes, which were round stunned and looking at the spot where my brother had been sitting against the wall. There on the wall behind where my brother had been sitting was an 8x10 photo stuck on the wall of two people sitting at a picnic table. As soon as I looked at it I also murmured a loud "Oh my God!"
The rest of my family all looked closely at what we were looking at and the Oh my Gods followed around the table. We all sort of sat there a bit stunned for a few seconds. With that my brother who had gone out to his car returned and stood looking at us looking at the wall. He took a look and gave a startled loud "OH MY GOD", of his own.
There on the wall was a picture of two people sitting at a picnic table who looked exactly like our grandparents. At first we were sure it was them. We took down the picture to examine it. It took us a few minutes to figure out if it was or wasn't our grandmother and grandfather. The people looked exactly like our grandparents. It was simply incredible.
My spiritual relative then stood up and said " That's our sign- everything is going to be OK for us all for awhile" She took the photo in her hands and said to the couple in the picture "Thanks Nana and Pop- we knew you were watching over us" She then looked at us all and said, "Any questions from any of you doubting Thomas's? We all just sort of sat there a bit shocked at the entire scenario.
Our grandparents had doubles. Exact doubles that happened to also be married to each other as our grandparents were. They also somehow just so happened to have a photo of them stuck on the wall where we were just praying to those who looked over us.
We searched the rest of the walls in the restaurant and did not find one other photo of anyone anywhere. Only that one photo was stuck on the wall behind my brother's chair.
We took the photo with us and went back to my oldest siblings house that kept all the family photos in her attic. We wanted to check our own memories and find some old photos of our grandparents to compare to the one we found on the wall in the restaurant.
This is the really incredible part of the story in my eyes. Not only did we find a box filled with photo's of our grandparents. We found an 8x10 of our grandparents sitting at a picnic table exactly like the couple from the restaurant. When we held both pictures side by side- they were almost identical. The people in the picture found at our table in the restaurant were doubles of our grandparents without question.
Now I know many will simply mark this up to coincidence. For me, well I gave up on chalking up lots of things to coincidence and lean more towards reason. I believe things happen as they are suppose to and that this event happened so we would know things for our family at this point in time were going to be OK.
Our sick relative recovered from his delicate surgery and he is doing well. In fact the entire family is doing well right now. I think about my grandparents and know that they were kind loving caring people who were a gift to us all. I think they heard us that day and maybe even had lunch with us at our table leaving us a sign- things would be OK.
Take from our encounter with this strange event what you will. For this woman and her family it gave us comfort, love and the knowledge that praying or asking the universe to help you or look over those you love in life works. I often talk to those who may guide me and look over me. I will also never doubt those who tell me they were given a sign or dismiss the fact that they were heard.
Remember; although our loved ones have crossed over they also may be watching us finish our tour of duty here on the big blue ball of life! I have given up my doubting Thomas status and will admit- I am a believer!
