Catholic Church Down On Saunas
Posted by

Apparently Vienna's archdiocese has a problem with saunas - at least if they are made from secondhand confessionals.
Bidding on eBay on a confessional at a church undergoing renovation - described on the site as ideal for conversion into a one-person sauna or a small bar or a children's playhouse - was stopped when the archdiocese stepped in.
Spokesman Erich Leitenberger said that auctioning 'objects that were used for dispensing the sacraments is not acceptable.'
Confessionals 'should not be converted into saunas or bars,' he was quoted Tuesday as saying.
It strikes me as kind of silly to impose these sorts of restrictions especially at a time when the Church could use the money. What are they supposed to do with old sacramental items? Dump them? Burn them? Warehouse them somewhere to rot until the end of time? None of that seems particularly respectful.
I mean, Jesus didn't say one single bad word about sitting in a box full of steam or drinking. In fact, given the nature of the eucharist it seems to me that he must have been a fan of good wine.
Here's some advice from a magician - the clergy should perform a ritual to remove any lingering spiritual power that has accumulated in the object. Then they can do whatever they like with it, including selling it raise needed funds.

Pets And The Afterlife

Now that we have gotten over the shock of understanding that the spirit just happens to be physically real and that all life itself has a spirit form with a soul acting as its perfect pattern, it is time to tackle the next step. A human being has a large scale cognitive content that separates it massively from all other Earth based lifeforms.
Yet the spirit of all creatures have at least the nugget of such content that does suggest the possibility at least of a transition into a higher life form. Yet why would this grace be ever provided? Obviously a well loved pet would rank high and plausibly be promoted by the human spirit.
We know that ancient traditions claimed that the trip up or down such a chain was much more volatile but i really cannot see now. I see a notching up or down instead. What we lack though is any reports of actual transitions like this. Since we have been getting just about every other type of report, the effect must be extremely rare if it exists.
It has been observed that animals lose the will to live if they are spiritually uplifted. That is all that we know though..
"FROM SEMINARY TO THE CEMETERY, FASCINATION PERSISTS OVER PETS AND THE AFTERLIFE"
"JAN. 16, 2015"
"
"Still, the attention led to renewed interest in a longstanding theological discussion about pets and the afterlife. Questions about the religious status of animals have always been with us; popular theology refuses to deny animals their souls. Our sense of spiritual kinship is already latent in the bootees and little sweaters we buy our pets, and the sidewalk baby talk with which we embarrass ourselves, and perhaps them. Consider how we treat our pets in death."
"Today, there are nearly 600 functioning pet cemeteries in the United States," Amy Defibaugh, a Temple University graduate student, said recently at the American Academy of Religion conference in San Diego. She was delivering a paper titled "Toward the Weeping Willow: An Examination of the Dying and Death of Companion Animals."
"Beginning in the 19th century as a largely urban phenomenon, "pet cemeteries have become and continue to be a viable and significant option for the practical disposal of the bodies of our companion animals," Ms. Defibaugh said, "as well as creating and preserving a sense of sacredness in their death."
"She cited the research of an anthropologist, Stanley Brandes of the University of California, Berkeley, who in a 2009 article, "The Meaning of American Pet Cemetery Gravestones," noted the "definite and growing tendency for owners to link these creatures to specific religious communities."
"That's right: Maybe your dog isn't just soulful, but is also, in fact, a member of a faith community. Maybe your dog is a Christian, perhaps of one denomination or another. Presbyterian pooch. Methodist mutt. Or maybe your dog is Mormon. Or Mennonite? Perhaps even Jewish."
"In his paper, based on research at the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery in Hartsdale, N.Y., Professor Brandes described Christian crosses and Jewish Stars of David that adorn pets' gravestones."
"It is evident," he wrote, "that owners who bury pets at Hartsdale believe that their companion animals possess immortal souls." One dog "gets her goodbye with the promise, 'Until We Meet in Heaven.' " On the gravestone of a boxer named Champ was written, "We Pray That We Will Meet Again."
"A cat named Corky lay beneath a stone with a Star of David, while "a dog named Sushi has two Stars of David symmetrically placed at the top of his gravestone, on which there is also Hebrew lettering that reads 'Shalom' (meaning both peace and goodbye)." Then there was the inscription for a cat named Sheebah: "Sheebah/who went to Heaven on Yom Kippur Day."
"Next to some of the animals' graves sat yahrzeit candles, traditionally lit to remember Jewish people who have died."
"The idea that pets are like humans in their relationship to God seems to be everywhere. Catholic teaching may not yet grant animals souls, but priests and monks of the Franciscan order have long had a tradition of blessing the animals on Oct. 4, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Some Episcopalians have also taken up the practice."
"Several popular children's
"Last fall, the best-selling children's author Nancy Tillman published her book "The Heaven of Animals," in which "when dogs get to heaven they're welcomed by name, and angels know every dog's favorite game," and where "horses in heaven are never alone, and grass is much sweeter than grass here at home."
"Ms. Tillman, who attends a nondenominational, evangelical Christian church near her home in Portland, Ore., said she was "not a theologian." She got the idea for the book "years ago," when she was looking at her dog and cat."
"They were gazing off into the distance," Ms. Tillman said. "And I thought, 'What a lovely thought if they see heaven. And wouldn't that comfort children if they lost a pet?' "
"In teaching children that animals go to heaven, it only makes sense that we would want to given pets a good send-off when they die. According to Ms. Defibaugh, the graduate student, cemeteries for people, recognizing the market, are also getting into the pet business."
"Many funeral homes have extended their services to companion animals for memorials and religious services," Ms. Defibaugh wrote in her paper. "Some human cemeteries are now allowing companion animal burial."
"Of course, the burial of animals, like that of humans, raises another question: What if your dog is of a different faith than you? No word yet on whether Jewish cemeteries are allowing burial for Christian collies."

Animal Spirit Stones

Today I have been crafting Animal Spirit Stones to put on the Kitchen Witch website www.kitchenwitchuk.org
I have my own totem/animal spirit guides and I work with the spirit of animals a lot, they have much to tell us, much to teach us and are fantastic guides.
Every living plant and animal has its rightful place on earth, and each has unique skills and a spirit of its own which helps it to fulfill its role on earth. I do not believe, as many do today, that humans are the greatest, most important part of this world who have all of nature at our disposal; but rather, that we are one small part of the Earth, and we must respect other creatures as our equals, and learn from what they have to teach us.
As a witch I use Totem Animals to honor nature and the animals that provide nourishment, comfort, knowledge, protection, and universal love. They have a profound connection between ourselves and the earth, and can communicate important values and ideals to us. While sometimes we can connect with the actual living animal, it was most often the essence of the animal who would appears in thoughts, dreams, or during meditation.
HISTORY OF SPIRIT STONES
Spirit Stones combine the healing properties of stones, used by Shamans who believed they could absorb negative energy and turn it into positive energy, with the essence of the animal whose picture was carved onto the stone. Each animal representation has its own special power and message, for each animal in life has its own powerful spirit and an inherent skill. The Animal Totem will choose a person as its companion, based on what stage a person is at in life, and which characteristics and virtues the person will benefit to learn.
FIND YOUR ANIMAL TOTEM
In order to learn what your Totem Animal is you must pay close attention to the signs that come into your life. Some people have always felt inexplicably drawn to a certain animal and its energy. Other people wonder how to tell what their Animal Totem is. Here are some questions to ask yourself if you're wondering which animal you are guided by:
- Does a certain animal consistently appear in your life? Not necessarily in physical form, but also through television, greeting cards, figurines, etc.?
- What animal are you most interested in seeing and learning about when you go to the zoo?
- Are there any animals you find to be extremely frightening or intriguing?
- Do you have recurring dreams about a specific animal? Have you ever had a vivid dream with an animal that you have never been able to forget?
Try to think about the characteristics and innate abilities of different animals. Do you identify with any of these animal dispositions or qualities? The deer, for example is gentle, peaceful, graceful, innocent, and a keen observer. The pig is a very strong totem who teaches spiritual strength, prosperity, self-reliance, and fearlessness. The dolphin teaches us how to be kind, wise, playful, capable of deep emotion, and happy. In order to find out what creature should be on your Spirit Stone, just think about what animal you can learn from. Because the creatures of the animal kingdom are so close to Mother Earth, they can teach us to see and love the earth better, to know life better, know ourselves better, and to communicate on a higher spiritual level.

Generic System Of Magic Part Two
Posted by

/ 8:54 AM /
Another problem with generic magic in a Golden Dawn context is quite often the core of the system ends up being something that is not actually Golden Dawn.
The purpose of Golden Dawn is varied; but the working techniques are pretty much the same from Order to Order. In groups that take the generic approach this is not always true.
For instance, I know of one Order that basic working technique is "spirit guides." Golden Dawn traditionally has nothing against spirit guides (ignoring the political and PR statements concerning Theosophy), but it is not something that Neophytes are encouraged to dabble in.
In this spirit guide system, contact with the spirit guides is considered the crux of the system, with all the other techniques being optional. It should be the other way around in my opinion.
To understand the problem with the idea of making contact with one's spirit guide and ignoring the rest of the system, just think about this: How do you know that it is actually your spirit guide and not a demon (qlippoth)?
There is nothing wrong with making contact with your spirit guide; there is a problem if you have no way of testing and defending yourself against possible hostile entities.

DEMONS IN THE SANCTUARY (MIRIAM E. BELLAMY, TRAFFORD, 2008)This is a fiction book about the supernatural in the church by a womanwho has served As a leader in several churches. Miriam Bellamyis a former accountant who is now involved in writing and theart community. Currently she resides in Cambridge, Ontario. The book is interesting because, according to some, it sheds lighton a later time in RALPH RUTLEDGE'S MINISTRY when he was a pastorof a church in the Kitchener Waterloo area of Ontario, Canada. A fiction book is often based on the writer's observations of actual events. Nothing in the account can be taken literally, of course. Any discussionof the book must remember that there may be truths about Ralph Rutledgein the book but not everything in the book is true because it is,after all, a work of fiction. My approach to the book will be one of open minded curiosity.Miriam observed Rev. Ralph Rutledge first hand. She was an insider in the church where he was a pastor. When I read the book I will be learning how deeply she and her family were effected by Rutledge. I will be learning about his leadership style, how he worked with the church boards and his financial accountability. One quote from the book: "Resentment over her pastor's misspending was gradually seeping into her awareness, gnawing at her spirit."There will be one thing missing from the book. She cannot say:"This man is Ralph Rutledge." But this we do know, Rutledge waspastor at Good Samaritan Church.
Our author, Miriam Bellamy, was secretary-Treasurer of theboard of Good Samaritan Church. As such it was her job to take minutes of the board meetings of Good Samaritan Church. She transcribed every word of mediation meetings so that the record would be unbiased. She confirms to me that she has comprehensive archival information in her possessionso that the truthfulness of any conclusions I might draw from the book can be confirmed from the records of Ralph Rutledge's behaviour. It sounds like one can learn a lot about Ralph Rutledge by reading "Demons in the Sanctuary." The senior pastor in the DEC. 29, 2009 UPDATE: I have received word from a previous elder at Good Samaritan Church. His report is that Miriam Bellamy's book, Demons in the Sanctuary, "is a good portrayal of what it was actually like."
JANUARY 4, 2010: I will study Demons in the Sanctuary and post in a separate blog: FEBRUARY 22, 2011 ANOTHER CONFIRMATION THAT 'DEMONS IN THE SANCTUARY' IS AN ACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF RALPH RUTLEDGE. I have just had contact from someone who knows the Rutledge family well and is well acquainted with Ralph Rutledge. This source gives testimony that Mariam's book "Demons in the Sanctuary" is an accurate portrayal of Rutledge's character.
This source described Ralph Rutledge to me as a "WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING" - as one who is cunning, prideful and "someone who acts one way for you...and another for someone else. He always plays to his audience."
"It's crystal clear the only reason why you have chosen to discuss this issue, and the man is because his sin is ongoing, and he is a very real threat and danger to other unsuspecting believers. Especially vulnerable young men who are confused and having self identity problems.'

Dr John Piper Okay With Old Earth
Posted by

The following is a partial transcript of a response Dr. John Piper of Bethlehem Baptist Church gave in answer to the question "WHAT SHOULD WE TEACH ABOUT CREATION?""WHEN IT COMES TO THE MORE CONTROVERSIAL ISSUES, SUCH AS HOW TO CONSTRUE GENESIS 1 AND 2, ABOUT HOW GOD DID IT, AND HOW LONG IT TOOK HIM TO DO IT, THERE I'M TOTALLY SYMPATHETIC WITH A PASTOR WHO IS GONNA LAY HIS VIEW DOWN, HAVING STUDIED IT, AND IS GONNA SAY TO HIS PEOPLE, "HERE'S MY UNDERSTANDING OF THOSE CHAPTERS, THESE SIX DAYS, THERE CAN'T BE ANY OTHER UNDERSTANDING OF 6 LITERAL DAYS, AND SO THAT'S HOW LONG GOD TOOK TO DO IT, AND THIS EARTH IS ABOUT TEN OR FIFTEEN THOUSAND YEARS OLD, OR THIS UNIVERSE IS. AND THOUGH IT LOOKS OLD, THAT'S THE WAY GOD MADE IT, HE MADE IT TO LOOK OLD, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT." OR, HE MIGHT TAKE ANOTHER VIEW THAT THESE DAYS ARE "AGES." OR HE MIGHT TAKE SAILHAMMER'S VIEW, WHICH IS WHERE I FEEL AT HOME, NAMELY, THAT ALL OF CREATION HAPPENED TO PREPARE THE LAND FOR MAN IN VERSE 1. (IN THE) BEGINNING, HE MADE THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, THAT'S EVERYTHING, AND THEN YOU GO DAY BY DAY AND HE'S PREPARING THE LAND. HE'S NOT BRINGING NEW THINGS INTO EXISTENCE, HE'S PREPARING THE LAND AND CAUSING NEW THINGS TO GROW, SEPARATING OUT WATER AND EARTH, AND THEN WHEN IT'S ALL SET AND PREPARED, HE CREATES AND PUTS MAN THERE. AND SO THAT HAS THE ADVANTAGE OF SAYING THAT THE EARTH IS BILLIONS OF YEARS OLD, IF IT WANTS TO BE, AND WHATEVER SCIENCE SAYS IT IS, IT IS. But, man is young, and he was good, and he sinned, and he was a real historical person because Romans 5 says so, and so does the rest of the Bible. And so that's where I am, and I think every pastor ought to go ahead and say what he believes...But I could be wrong about that, I'm 63 years old and I've never preached through Genesis yet. I'd like to. We're gonna finish (the Gospel of) John, and maybe the next thing I'll turn to, if the elders let me stay around that long, would be Genesis. I really think it would...we need to give our people help in this." (my emphasis)
With all due respect to Dr. Piper, who strikes me as genuinely sincere and humble when he talks about not having preached through Genesis (and by implication, meaning he doesn't have deeply felt convictions on the issue of young earth/old earth), I think it would be good for him to avail himself of some of the very scholarly resources on young earth creation that have come around only in the last few years: chiefly, Answers in Genesis and Institute for Creation Research.
Both of these relatively new ministries are chock full of scientific data in support of a young earth, which not coincidentally, supports the common sense reading of Genesis. From the interview above, it sounds as if Dr. Piper is unaware of these ministries, and so I would urge Dr. Piper to check into these resources. We don't have to "buy" old earth and find a way to make it make sense, just because, as Dr. Piper said, "whatever science says it is, it is." These ministries are filled with scientists who have studied the evidences for and against young earth within their particular fields of expertise - archaeology, biology, chemistry, astronomy, physics, etc. - and have come away with the conviction that young earth is the most plausible explanation for the state of the earth today. It's very exciting to me to have access to great articles, But putting aside the science for a moment, and coming at this from a strictly biblical angle, how would an "old earther" account for all the evidence of death contained in the fossil record - which presumably would have pre-dated the death that came as a result of Adam's sin in the Garden? For the Bible tells us that it was by THIS sin (in the Garden) that death and suffering came into the world. So what do you do with Romans 5:12 if you're an evolutionary Darwinian Christian? It doesn't work. Why? Because the fossil record is filled - loaded - with evidence of death that, from the Christian point of view, would be a contradiction to Scripture, which plainly tells us that death came into the world as a result of Adam's sin.
Hmmm, it's almost as if God intentionally placed a great big spotlight on the very first death recorded in Scripture...but why? Well, the first death that came as a result of Adam's sin was the death of the animal God used to cover Adam and Eve's shame. Now, it's hard to imagine what Adam might have felt as he watched this animal die. He loved all the animals, he was their caretaker, he had given them their names. And now, he was watching one of them die as a result of HIS sin. I wonder if he even had an understanding of what he was seeing, as this beloved animal gasped its last, the life draining from its eyes while Adam watched. He had never seen death before. I wonder if he even knew the finality of what was happening in front of him. Perhaps it was at this point that he began to grasp the seriousness of his sin...
Now think of this in the context of the evolutionary Darwinian view: how big of a deal would the death of the animal used to clothe Adam and Eve have been? It would have had very little importance, it would have been just another death among the millions of deaths that came before it, attested to by the fossil record. But I would submit that God placed a great big spotlight on this first death because its spiritual significance was staggering: the first death was but a dim shadow of the salvation that was to come through Christ, "the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world," whose death would make propitiation for wicked men, and would "cover" their sins, making all who would repent and believe righteous in the eyes of God.
Thankfully, because of the ministries of Answers in Genesis and the Institute for Creation Research, we no longer have to shut down our critical thinking faculties on this topic...we now have science, "genuine science," confirming for us what we have had to take on faith for many years while the scientific community berated us as being village idiots for daring to entertain the idea of young earth creationism.
My hope and prayer is that, by availing himself of the resources linked above, Dr. Piper will rethink his position on old earth and the contradictory nature of the fossil record. Many eyes are on him, and as a leader, his teaching is held to a higher standard.

Learn To Project Rune Energy
Posted by
Unknown

By Ellis Peterson
Rune Lessons ProjectionUp to this point in our lessons, we have been learning how to attract the energies of the Runes out of the Quantum Ocean and into our Auras.
Runes are creative, universal energies and the Runic energy you bring into your Aura, will create similar things in your physical reality. You attract Rune FA into your Aura and you will attract physical money into your life.
Attract Rune UR energies into your aura and you will attract physical health.
The Laws of Quantum Physics explain to us that ALL is energy. That there exists an infinite ocean of thinking, intelligent energy called the Quantum Ocean. In reality, it is the Mind of God who created everything, including the lesser Gods.
The God who has remained hidden down through the ages, couched in so many religions. Now with the Age of Aquarius, we can not only know who this God is, but we can know the Laws of Creation.
Runes are very powerful tools to use to co-create and recreate your life.
Since the Quantum Ocean responds to our thoughts, we can think these Runic energies into our lives. I call it the Science of Mental Radionics.
Once you have your Aura charged with the suitable runic energies, you can project these energies to others, to family or other loved ones or to the soldiers on the battle field.
Here is how you can project runic energy while in your favorite chair, which by now has become your outer Rune Realm due to all the Meditations and Breathing exercises you have been practicing while sitting in it.
Inhale the runic energies you intend to use out of the Quantum Ocean. Mentally chant the specific Rune Mantras over and over.
Hold your right hand up and imagine the rune energy flowing from your Aura to the index finger.
You can either have the person you want to project runic energy to in the room with you or you can use a photo or simply a mental image.
Take a deep breath and exhale the runic energy out from your hand and into the Aura of your partner or the person you wish to project to.
As you are projecting, chant the rune mantra three times. While exhaling, imagine the runic energies flowing through your hand into the Third Eye of your partner.
You can proceed and project this energy to each of your partner's chakras. Or simply to their Aura in general. If you intend to heal using the Rune Ur, point directly at the Chakra which is associated with the ailing organ, or directly at the organ itself.
All is Energy, your are energy, your chakras are energy, your organs are energy, your loved ones are energy, Runes are energy. Learn how to project Runes and help bring them into the 21st Century.
