B"H
My stomach clenched when I read this. Of course, many of us have known for years that the Catholic Church is covetous of this particular Jewish Holy Site, believing that it is the place where the "last supper" occurred.
So, I guess our government will wrap up another precious Holy Site with a bow and gift it to I'm sure King David won't mind that his tomb is in the hands of a bunch of Catholics, right? You know, the same Catholic Church who committed mass murder, expulsion, torture, and forced conversion against Jews for over a thousand years?
You know, the same Catholic Church who burned Jews alive and helped invent the blood libel? You know, the same Catholic Church who burned every copy of the Talmud and every other important Jewish book they could find, and even when the kept a few copies, wouldn't let us see them, and deny they exist?
You know, the same Catholic Church who has Holy objects looted from our Holy Temple, but won't give them back and deny they have them?
You know, the same Catholic Church who refused to tell us where the Jewish babies saved from the Holocaust have been sent, who raised them, and what their names are now?
You know, the same Catholic Church who just signed an agreement with the Arab league, the same people who want to proclaim Isabella a Saint.
The same Catholic Church that "rehabilitated" a holocaust denying bishop?
The same Catholic Church who has decided to reintroduce the prayer for the conversion of the Jews? Yeah. That Catholic Church.
Oh, and, of course, the same Catholic Church who fashioned a pope from a former Nazi Youth (poor me, I didn't really want to be one but I couldn't keep myself from being a collaborator even though it was really the wrong thing to do because martyrdom is for OTHER people), and will send him in the robes of a holy person to tour our land.
Yeah, Bibi, let's just give the Catholics the tomb of our greatest king, the Patriarch of the line of the Messiah, so that the Catholic Church can reinterpret our faith to match theirs and gain another foothold in our land.
Yeah, Bibi, let's just give away an important holy site because some group who doesn't want to pay their taxes decides that something is holy to them. That's wonderful, don't you think? Great.
I'm sure King David would really appreciate that. I'm also sure King David would really enjoy the idea of throwing a major Yeshiva out on the street so the Catholics can redecorate with some nice "religious" art.
I just can't wait to pray at the tomb of King David as we stare at a giant cross on the wall and replace the burial cloth with a giant jewel-encrusted "Jesus is Lord" artwork.
And, by the way, what about all the other xtians in the world? Do they want this site controlled by the Catholic Church? Seriously, the site is important to a whole bunch of different types of xtians, and I'm not sure how they would feel about Bibi just giving the site away to the Catholic Church.
When site is controlled by Jews, everyone can come, but when it is controlled by Moslems or a particular xtians sect, there are always big problems. Let's take, for example, the church where the J-guy was supposedly buried.
We have xtians there, feuding xtians. Monks who throw punches and fight, monks who refused to talk to one another, monks who haven't moved a ladder for almost 200 years, and a church falling into ruin because no one can decide whose responsibility it is to fix things.
Wow. Sounds great. I'm sure King David would really love that too!
Just so everyone knows-if, by some miracle of G-d, I become a especially famous religious personality, please don't allow some religion that came along a couple thousand years after my death to claim my tomb as some sort of holy place and take it over.
It's really not what I want.
I doubt it is what King David would want either.

Israel's Control of Mt. Zion in Danger
Tellingly, a plenary meeting has been announced for this Thursday, April 30, at the Foreign Ministry. The meeting will be chaired by the two states' deputy foreign ministers, Danny Ayalon and Monsignor Pietro Parolin. It is widely believed that the agreement will be signed then.
Church Demands Parts of Mt. Zion
The two states have been negotiating a treaty since March 1999 on matters having to do with Church-owned or Church-claimed property in Israel. Among the most significant issue under negotiations is the Vatican's demand for the Last Supper room, located on the second floor of the ancient Mt. Zion building that also houses the tombs of Kings David, Solomon, and Hezekiah.
In addition, the Vatican is claiming areas around Lake Kinneret, as well as in Caesaria and Jerusalem.
Hints and implications in the Vatican and Catholic press have long indicated that the negotiations are expected to end successfully, from the Catholic vantage point, in time for Pope Benedict's visit to Israel two weeks from now.
"This is a shame and a disgrace of unequalled proportions," said Daisy J. Stern, M.D., who has been leading an information campaign on the topic. "Giving away these important areas has no Halakhic [Jewish legal] validity, of course, but signing it away will definitely make it very difficult to ever reclaim them."
Mt. Zion - International Center for Catholics?
At present, since shortly after the Six-Day War in 1967, the Diaspora Yeshiva has run the Mt. Zion compound, on which it is located, and warns of the catastrophic implications for Israel and the Jewish People if the deal goes through.
The director of the yeshiva explained that if the Catholic Church receives control of the area, just a few hundred yards from the Temple Mount and adjacent to the Old City walls, it will turn it into "the international center for Catholics all around the world, and if the pope just gives the word, Christians will be flocking over here en masse."
"This is an enormous issue that is being pushed through without any public debate whatsoever," he said.
Vatican Signs Agreement with Arab League
Dr. Stern notes that though there had been reports that an agreement might be signed last week, "nothing happened - except that while they [the Vatican representatives] were talking with Israel, they signed an agreement with the Arab League. This is very worrisome. There are no details on the agreement with the Arab League, except that it aims to promote 'peace, security and stability.' Who knows what that really means? Are they dividing up the spoils of the future Vatican agreement with Israel - or perhaps they are preparing for the next Arab war with Israel? We don't know."
"This new agreement with the Arab League renders the Vatican, most gravely, an interested party in the Israeli-Arab dispute," said Prof. Hillel Weiss of Bar Ilan University, who has been closely following the issue.
Of further concern is the fact that Israel is investing some 6 million shekels in improvements and renovations to various sites in preparation for the Papal visit. Work at the Last Supper room has been underway for some time.
Blueprint of an Agreement
A Foreign Ministry official confirmed in 2005 that a "blueprint of a possible agreement with the Vatican has been received." The proposed contract, as Arutz-7 reported at the time, read as follows:
"The State of Israel hands over to the Holy See the use of the Cenacle [the room of the event known as the Last Supper, above King David's tomb - ed.], of the access path to it, and of the spaces adjacent to it... It is the Holy See's intention to inform the Bishops - and through them the world's Priests - that the Catholic Church has been given the use of the Cenacle, inviting them to visit the Holy Place together with their faithful... The Holy See hands over this use of the Cenacle to the Custody of the Holy Land [which acts on behalf of the Holy See]... [which] will keep the Cenacle open from 6 AM to 8 AM for the celebration of the Holy Mass... Official liturgical celebrations of non-Catholic Churches can take place only upon prior written permission by the Custody of the Holy Land."
The proposed agreement also stipulated that the Holy See will preserve the historic character of the site and keep it open to pilgrims and tourists, and that Israel will provide for the safety of the site. The Foreign Ministry official said at the time that "Israel is not prepared to relinquish its jurisdiction over this area." The world will find out later this week whether this position is still valid.
Rabbi Mordechai Goldstein, who founded and still runs the Diaspora Yeshiva, officially known as Yeshiva Toras Yisrael, told Arutz-7 in the past that "according to their bible, the Land is to return to the Christians, and 144,000 Jews are to return to Mt. Zion. Their plan is for them to take control of the site, and then to announce that they are holding a mass reenactment of the Last Supper, with [all types of religious rituals], and to invite millions of Christians to come to Jerusalem and celebrate."
Rabbi Goldstein said that this means much tourism money for Israel, and that someone in the Israeli government is apparently very interested in making this happen.
The King David's Tomb complex, some 100,000 square feet, is "certainly one of the holiest spots in the Land of Israel," a yeshiva source said. "David, Solomon and others kings of Judea are said to be buried here. We've already given away the Temple Mount and the Machpelah Cave, except for here and there when we're allowed in; now they want to give Mt. Zion away as well? For thousands of years, this area was almost always totally closed off to Jews. G-d gave it back to us in 1948, but parts of it were still in range and sight of Jordanian snipers and were not in full use. After 1967, Rabbi Goldstein founded the Diaspora Yeshiva here - and it became an island of holiness, the first yeshiva for baalei teshuvah [newly religious] in Israel; we were there day and night learning Torah. Rabbi Goldstein was almost prophetic in establishing this yeshiva at that time at that spot; destiny from above intertwined him with Mt. Zion."
Dr. Stern and others are attempting to organize a public protest, beginning with an email and fax campaign to Deputy Foreign Minister Ayalon, who will represent Israel at the Thursday meeting. The Director-General of the Foreign Ministry can be emailed at mankal@mfa.gov.il, and the fax number is 02-5303704 (from abroad, replace leading 0 with 972).

GARDENING FOR BATS (AND OTHER GOTHIC ORGANIC PEST CONTROLLERS)
Bats are important in nature, and terribly gothic. If you want to increase the bat population around your house, there are two basic things you can do:
* Grow plants which attract night-flying insects and
* Provide roosting areas for bats.
Bats can consume up to 500 insects an hour, including mosquitoes (although I've read that mosquitoes make up only about 10% of their diet). The health hazard to humans is small, since very few bats actually carry rabies. Only ten people in THIRTY years have gotten rabies from a bat bite. The main hazard comes from bats roosting inside the house, which can be a source of histoplasmosis. However, in the wild, bat populations are declining, and natural roosting areas are being destroyed.
The Bat Garden
Burpee actually sells this as a "kit" with all the seeds for several types of plants which attract the insects that bats like to eat. Plants that should be in a bat garden include:Salvia This has spikes of blooms in red, purple, salmon, lilac, white, blue, and pink, so take your pick.
Silene This plant has 3" clusters of deep rose flowers
Phlox Star-shaped flowers and needle-like leaves. The flowers can be blue, crimson, pink, white, and red.
Stock This also has sturdy spikes of full, fragrant flowers which come in pink, white, and lavender, and there's also the Evening Stock from the night garden.
Cornflower Also known as Bachelor's Buttons, these are fragrant, many-petaled, old-fashioned flowers in pink, blue, white and maroon.
Spearmint A fragrant herb, which also has small white blooms. Flowers that all bloom in the evening are Four o' Clocks, Moonflower, and Nicotania.
The Bat Roost
You can build your own, or there are several sorts available for sale. Bat House This houses about a dozen bats, and the single, narrow, bottomless chamber is preferred by male bats, due to the cooler temperature.
Bat Condo This has four chambers, and appeals more to female bats and their young who prefer a higher temperature environment. This will house between 30 and 50 bats. It's also bottomless.
Bat Mansion This mansion has 5 chambers, and an attic, which will house up to 150 bats. Bats can move up and down inside the house to the most comfortable temperature. These three were sold by Pinetree Garden Seeds but I didn't see them in his year's catalog.
I've also seen plans for making bat houses. The important things to remember are:
* use rough, SEASONED lumber, and turn the rough sides inward
* grooves on the inside help bats to climb and roost
* hang the house 12-15 feet above ground in an area where it gets morning sun, but is in shade during the afternoon, and is relatively protected from the wind
* the house also needs to be placed about 20 feet from the nearest tree...this is apparently to reduce their chances of getting hit by lightning
* place the bat house near a water source, or provide one nearby-and make sure it's protected from cats
Bat Conservation International will supply you with plans for a bat house.
Another option, if you live very southerly, is to leave a cabbage palm unpruned, as this provides a nice roosting area.
Don't be discouraged if you don't attract bats right away...sometimes it takes quite a bit of time before a bat population will establish itself in an area, but once they do, they usually return. (The chances of a bat house being occupied are increased if the house is hung by early April, and if there are already bats roosting nearby.)
Bat Facts
There are 950 species of bats. Two-thirds of these species are insect-eaters, with most of the remaining third eating fruit, nectar, and pollen. A very few species eat fish, or birds, small mammals, and reptiles, and three species feed on blood.
The largest bat, "Pteropus vampyrus", has an average weight of 3 1/2 oz., and a wingspan of over 5 feet! The smallest bat, "Craseonycteris thonglongyae", weighs less than a tenth of an oz., and has a wingspan of six inches.
A bat can consume up to one-half its weight in insects in one night, and might fly as far as 50 miles to get full.
Bats are the main pollinator of the giant saguaro cactus, which is omnipresent in the southwestern landscape.
Other Gothic Pest Controllers
Bats are definitely beneficial to have in the garden, since they consume so many insects. However, there are other organic options besides bats which will help control the insects in your garden, so you never have to resort to icky chemicals. Praying Mantis The Praying Mantis is an insect with which most of us are familiar. They're beautiful as far as bugs go, and almost as gothic as bats, since the female rips the head of the male during the act of procreation. They also are strictly carnivorous, and will attempt to eat any bug they can overpower. You can buy praying mantis egg cases at most nurseries, and once the baby mantises hatch, they'll disperse into your garden and eat all the insects they can find. The egg cases should be attached to a twig or plant a foot or so off the ground, with some protective foliage around it. It may take as many as eight weeks of warm weather for the babies to hatch, and once they do, you won't be able so see any difference in the egg case anyway. Each egg case will hatch as many as 200 of the tiny buggers.
Toads Toads will lend a warty ambiance to your garden, and they love to eat slugs (which can be one of the worst garden pests, and have a particular fondness for Wormwood, a plant many goths might like to grow since it's the main ingredient for absinthe). Provide toads with water for them to lay their eggs in; it doesn't necessarily have to be a pond. Also provide some shelter like a toad house-although a clay pot turned on it's side and buried halfway into the ground will do just fine. If you do spray any pesticides, you will end up killing your toads. Toads in the garden are considered good luck.
Dragonflies Dragonflies are colorful and, to some people, frightening. However, they are completely harmless to humans. Mosquitoes are a different story; sometimes dragonflies are called "mosquito hawks" since skeeters seem to be their favorite treat. (I can't emphasize mosquito control enough-it seems that mosquitoes are attracted to dark colored clothing, a crucial consideration for goths.) To attract dragonflies to your garden, make 'perches' for them to rest on. Simply put 3-4 foot high stakes in the garden, placed 4-6 feet apart. Don't use bug zappers. These will kill dragonflies, but don't tend to kill mosquitoes.
Spiders I don't know how you would attract spiders to your garden, but if you find them there, leave them alone. They're worth their weight in gold in terms of pest control. And there's nothing like a nice spider web to add some gothy atmosphere to your garden. Of course, you need to make sure the spiders you have hanging around aren't poisonous.
Snakes Snakes are a mixed blessing. While they do eat harmful rodent garden pests, they will also eat helpful garden visitors like toads, frogs, and lizards. It's also important to make sure the kind of snakes you have in the garden are the non-poisonous variety. That having been said, a good way of attracting snakes is to provide them with a hiding place, like a rock and rubble pile located near the edge of the garden.
Birds While I don't consider most birds very gothic (unless we're talking Hitchcock), there exists a lot of potential here for gothic garden decorations that double as bird houses and bird baths. Purple Martins, which are especially good for bug control, like large birdhouses with multiple compartments-I can easily see one of these converted into a "castle". Swallows are also good birds to encourage to hang around your garden.
Ladybugs Ladybugs are cute, not gothic. WRONG. Their name, like many plants with 'lady' in the name, is derived from the Virgin Mary (Our Lady's Bugs...) They were considered holy and magical, and many still consider them to be good luck. They are also voracious insect eaters, and, like praying mantises, are for sale in nurseries. When ladybugs aren't being used, they can be stored in the refrigerator, for regular repeat releases. Make sure and sprinkle some water around before you first release them, since they're usually quite thirsty. And early evening is the best time to release them, since that gives them all night to settle into your garden and decided that's where they want to stay.

Faithful Catholics of the Worcester Diocese are blessed to have a spiritual leader such as The Most Reverend Robert J. McManus. As Father Euteneuer of Human Life International has observed (see here), "In a time when far too many scandals go unaddressed in our Catholic institutions it is very encouraging to see a bishop take a bold stand in defense of his people and the integrity of the Church."
There are some who would criticize the Bishop, asserting that he should have done more. They would argue, along with Dr. Dietrich von Hildebrand, that: "The right use of the sacred authority of a bishop or a religious superior is much more necessary, more urgently called for by God when it is not just the deviation of an individual which is at stake, but rather the spreading of a terrible spiritual plague by one who is either malicious or ignorant. The failure to use God-given authority against such a person [and one could add an institution of higher learning] is a betrayal of Christ. ANYONE WHO, FROM COWARDICE OR INSUFFICIENT MORAL COURAGE, FAILS TO TAKE UP A FIGHT, BRINGS A TERRIBLE RESPONSIBILITY UPON HIMSELF...The betrayal of God-given authority, by keeping silent or by not intervening where this is a sacred duty before God, is always a very grave fault. Sometimes it comes from the ostrich-policy of burying one's head in the sand and not wanting to see the evils which authority can and should eliminate; sometimes it comes from the slogan, 'Authority is no longer effective today, it belongs to the Middle Ages.' This is much more dangerous than the abuse of authority which we just discussed; it is an even worse naturalism than this abuse, it is a failure to see what is demanded by the sacred office of a bishop or a religious superior. One looks upon authority as uncharitable and harsh because one looks at it 'from without,' and fails to understand that it is a deed of the greatest love, that it is true love of neighbor to use God-given authority in the spirit of Christ and with the full awareness of being responsible before God." (The Devastated Vineyard, pp. 205-207).
And this is certainly true. But what exactly is "the right use of sacred authority"? Is it only command and not service? Does a Bishop have to abandon the pastoral dimension of his ministry? Of course not. In Mark 10: 42-44, Jesus tells His Disciples: "..You know that those who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones make their authority over them felt. But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all."
In his book entitled, "Rise, Let Us Be On Our Way," Pope John Paul II wrote, "THERE IS ALWAYS A PROBLEM IN ACHIEVING A BALANCE BETWEEN AUTHORITY AND SERVICE. Maybe I should have been more assertive. I think this is partly a matter of my temperament. Yet it could also be related to the will of Christ, who asked His Apostles not to dominate but to serve. Obviously a bishop has authority, but much depends on the way he exercises it. If a bishop stresses his authority too much, then the people think all he can do is issue commands. On the other hand, if he adopts an attitude of service, the faithful spontaneously tend to listen to him and willingly submit to his authority. SO A CERTAIN BALANCE IS NEEDED. IF A BISHOP SAYS, 'I'M IN CHARGE HERE' OR 'I'M ONLY HERE TO SERVE,' THEN SOMETHING IS MISSING: HE MUST SERVE BY RULING AND RULE BY SERVING. WE HAVE AN ELOQUENT MODEL OF THIS DUAL APPROACH IN CHRIST HIMSELF: HE SERVED UNCEASINGLY, BUT IN THE SPIRIT OF SERVING GOD HE WAS ALSO ABLE TO EXPEL THE MONEY CHANGERS FROM THE TEMPLE WHEN THIS WAS NEEDED." (Rise, Let Us Be On Our Way, pp. 49-50).
Bishop McManus has warned Holy Cross that continued dissent will have its consequences. He is also being pastoral while remembering that authority is not just command but service. He is striving to achieve a balance. And he deserves our prayers and our support.

The Ouija board. An historic board with numbers and letters, a simple planchette pointer immersed in folklore and superstition.
THE ORIGINS OF THE OUIJA BOARD
The first iterations of spirit writing were recorded as far back as 1100 AD in China but it wasn't until 1890 when Elijah Bond first commercialized the concept. It was extensively used in Victorian times when spiritual parlor tricks were rife.
OUIJA WARNINGS
Having used a talking board on many occasions I can tell you that you want to be prepared for what you may witness. Many people are (rightfully) frightened of using such methods to contact the dead and I personally would not recommend it. Why? In many cases creating an 'open channel' to the dead can be a dangerous pastime since you rarely are talking to the deceased person you intended. It is advisable to ensure you have an experienced participant at the board with you at all times. Someone whom knows the impact and can react accordingly should anything 'untoward' take place.
WITH THE WARNINGS OUT OF THE WAY, LETS LEARN HOW TO USE A OUIJA BOARD.
One of the most important aspects of setting up the Ouija board is to ensure that you are able to sit comfortably. This is because you will want all the board participants to be able to place their finger upon the planchette without using any force. The best location to cite the board is at a table where everyone will be comfortable for extended periods.
It is not necessary to turn down lights or light candles. This is simply for atmosphere. If you want to do this properly the environment should be the last thing on your mind.
Allow everyone present to sit comfortably at the table, place the planchette into the middle of the board and position any single finger upon the planchette. They key here is to simply 'touch' the planchette with your finger and not to depress upon it.
YOUR FIRST QUESTION TO THE OUIJA BOARD SHOULD BE;
"We welcome NON malevolent spirits to come forward and communicate with us"
Followed by;
"There is NO gateway open for malevolent spirits"
You are now free to ask any questions you wish. I would advise you to keep them simple at first.
Once contact has been established you will begin to feel the planchette moving across the board. Simply record which letters, numbers or symbols the planchette falls upon and await the message to come through.
Do TAKE THE OUIJA BOARD SERIOUSLY - it is not a toy board and if not treated with the respect it deserves you could end up with much, much more than you anticipated...good luck!

"Before McCain spoke, a Christian pastor offered a prayer that seemed to ask for divine intervention on his behalf. "There are millions of people around this world praying to their God - whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah - that [McCain's] opponent wins for a variety of reasons," Pastor Arnold Conrad said. "And, Lord, I pray that you would guard your own reputation, because they're going to think that their god is bigger than you, if that happens."
The only surprise will be if McCain wins.

"Among Sephardim, Do~na Gracia is well known, but for many in the Jewish world, they do not know her."
"She is a true woman of valor, a 15th Century Esther, who truly asked herself for what reason Hashm had placed her a position of power and influence.
"She had, like Esther, seen the evil king and queen of Spain (may their names be forever cursed and forgotten) order the destruction, death, and exile of the Jews of Spain. "
"Like Esther, Do~na Gracia took the money and the influence she had, and used her place to not only save lives, but save Jewish culture and tradition by establishing synagogues and schools, and by rebuilding Tiberias into a Holy city once more."

The 500th anniversary of her birth in Lisbon to a family of Marranos, originally from Aragon, that fled to Portugal when Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand expelled the Jews in 1492, was celebrated on Sunday at Beit Hanassi.
Various novels have been written about her, with a blending of fact and fiction, but she has entered Israeli consciousness only in recent years.
A true heroine of Jewish history, she was largely ignored, according to Dr. Tzvi Schaick of Tiberias, because history was by and large written by men who were unwilling to credit women with power and achievement.
The one place in Israel where her memory has long been revered is in Tiberias, where there is a Dona Gracia Museum, of which Schaick is the director and curator.
The museum, known as Casa Dona Gracia, is part of the Dona Gracia Hotel that is owned by the Amsalem family, veteran residents of Tiberias with roots in Morocco and Turkey that in all probability stretch back to Spain and Portugal.
The family also owns Amsalem Tours, which together with Schaick, the Tiberias Municipality, the Galilee Development Authority, the Tiberias Hotel Association and former MK Geula Cohen has been working for years to promote awareness of Dona Gracia.
The museum conducts weekend seminars about the life and times of Dona Gracia, whose story fired Cohen's imagination to the extent that she pushed for the Education Ministry to include the study of Dona Gracia in school curricula.
Tzvi Tzameret, a former director- general of Yad Yitzhak Ben- Zvi and currently the chairman of the ministry's Pedagogic Secretariat, agreed that it was high time for Dona Gracia to come out of the mothballs of the distant past. The upshot is that high school students and soldiers will now learn of her plans to establish an autonomous Jewish community in Tiberias, which from the second to the 10th centuries was the largest Jewish city in the Galilee, and a great seat of Jewish learning.
Sunday's anniversary celebration at Beit Hanassi was held in the presence of President Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Navon, the fifth president of the state who now heads the National Authority for Ladino, Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch, among a host of dignitaries.
Cohen, a former Lehi (Stern Group) fighter who was arrested by the British in 1946 but escaped from jail in 1947, and an Israel Prize laureate, was credited several times over with initiating the Dona Gracia festivities - so much so that Peres said he was tempted to call her Dona Geula.
Peres observed that it was easier to reach the peak of Mount Everest than the heights attained by Dona Gracia, whose influence was felt all over Europe and whose enormous wealth also influenced the sultan of Turkey.
The place of women was submerged in the annals of time, he said, because men went out and fought the battles. They were the heroes of wars, of conquests and of rule.
Under the circumstances, it was hardly surprising that the story of Dona Gracia was buried for centuries and almost forgotten.
"She was larger than life," the president said, his voice ringing with astonishment as he recounted her travels, her rescue of Jews expelled from Spain and Portugal, and the manner in which she provided havens for conversos like herself. The amazing thing, he said, was that she was able to achieve so much in so short a life. She was only 49 when she died in 1569.
Sa'ar described Dona Gracia as "a woman before her time," preceding Herzl in her vision of a Jewish homeland and becoming a Zionist before the term was coined.
She was an extraordinarily generous woman and a great leader, he said.
Brig.-Gen. Eli Shermeister, the army's chief education officer, said, "The values she espoused are part of our heritage. I salute her in the name of the IDF."
Schaick, dressed in 16th-century costume in keeping with the occasion, said that to celebrate Dona Gracia's 500th birthday at Beit Hanassi was the realization of a dream.
"Since the establishment of the museum 10 years ago, we dreamt that the day would come when Dona Gracia would be given official recognition by the state, and that day is here," he said.
Dona Gracia discovered only on her 12th birthday, in 1522, that she was not a Christian as she had thought, but was in fact Jewish.
Moreover, her name was not Beatrice de Luna Miguis, the name under she had been baptized in Lisbon where she was born, but Hana Nasi, the daughter of Shmuel Nasi.
When she was 18, her father married her off in a Catholic Church ceremony to Francisco Mendes. She could not understand how her father could do this to her after having revealed that they were Jews who practiced their Judaism in secret.
It subsequently transpired that her husband too was a converso and they had another wedding ceremony in accordance with the Law of Moses and of Israel. It was a happy marriage and in the course of time she bore him a daughter, Reina. However, when Dona Gracia was only 25, her husband died. He willed nearly all his enormous wealth to her, including ships, the second largest bank in Europe and other assets, which she used to help her people. Payments to the pope delayed the establishment of the Inquisition in Portugal.
She was betrayed to the authorities by her jealous sister, and it was only with the help of the sultan of Turkey, Suleiman the Magnificent, that she was released. She persuaded the sultan to lease her Tiberias, which she wanted to rebuild to its former Jewish glory. Meanwhile, she paid for the construction of synagogues, places of study and Hebrew printing presses in places of Jewish dispersion.
She sent people to live in Tiberias, and she paid for the city to be rebuilt. Her people completed construction of the southern city wall, and were about to begin building a permanent home for her so that she could move from Turkey to the Holy Land. However, she died first, in 1569.
Cohen disagreed that women had been overlooked in the saga of Jewish heroism. She mentioned heroines of the War of Independence such as Hannah Szenes, and then went through biblical heroines from the matriarchs to way beyond.
Cohen said she was glad that Dona Gracia had at last come to light and she hoped that she would cast her light on those of today's youth who have lost their way.
Ya'acov Amsalem said that for as long as he could remember, he had wanted to preserve the heritage of Dona Gracia.
Together with Cohen, he presented Peres with the Dona Gracia medallion.

Also, Jihad is interpreted as the struggle against evil, internal or external of a person or a society. Jihad, in Islam, means doing any or all but not limited to the following:
Learn, teach, and practice Islam in all aspects of one's life at all times to reach the highest and best education in order to benefit oneself, family and society.

We enter into the drama of the Gospel this week. No more powerful expression of the feeling of this week has ever been produced than the opening chorus of Bach's St. Matthew Passion. The very sound of it evokes deep emotion, as music paints a picture of something beyond suffering. It is the willingness of love to embrace suffering, to own it, and in so doing to give the great gift of charity. It is our sorrow at Christ's pain and death, but a sorrow of gratitude producing in us the love we could not have without His sorrow, His gift to us. The heart of the drama, as Bach put it into music, as Grunewold painted it, and as countless poets have hymned it, is not the drama of a tragic figure whose life is wrongly taken in a Kafkaesque trial, a mockery of justice. It is the drama of the One Who loved us unto death, and gave that life which no man could take from Him.
This strikes us in our hearts and moves us to love Him, and it awakens our consciences from their slumber. Not because we feel guilty, though it is popular to say that our sins crucified Him. But in truth, our sins had no power over Him. In answer to the question, "Why did He have to suffer and die?" we answer that He "had to" have done nothing. Indeed, He owed us nothing. He did not die because He had to, or because we made Him do so. Pilate had no power over Him, the priests and Sanhedrin had no power over Him, the soldiers of Rome who beat, mocked and crucified Him, had no power over Him.
Hear the words Christ had spoken a while before ascending to Jerusalem:
"Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life that I might take it again. No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of My Father (John 10: 17, 18)."
Remember, as we will read on Friday the Gospel of John, that when they came to arrest Him, they all fell backward, and could not stand up until He spoke again and allowed them to do so. And, as St. Matthew tells us, He spoke these words to Peter:
"Put up thy sword into his place...thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He shall presently give Me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be (Mat. 26: 53, 54)?"
The One Who prayed in the Garden, "Not as I will, but as Thou wilt" and said "greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friends" would show greater love than is possible for human strength, as He would die for His friends and His enemies. "God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8)." He set His face as a flint; His face was set toward Jerusalem. No man could "make" Him go there; no man could "send" Him to the cross.
So our consciences are stricken, and our hearts afflicted, by something more profound than guilt; we are brought low, and moved, by this true drama, to gratitude, to give thanks with tears, moved to love, all of which restores to us hope, and faith, and charity for all. Our consciences are cleansed by His death, and made new. They are made active; they stir to holy living. No longer is our life a matter of rules for the sake of rules, laws for the sake of laws. The Law is written on our hearts by the Holy Ghost along with the deepest recognition that we could not give enough thanks to our Redeemer had we a thousand tongues to sing, and that we will never stop giving thanks for eternity, unto ages of ages, or world without end. It is now personal. "We love Him because He first loved us."
We are moved beyond the power of words to tell, not because the cross of Christ makes us guilty in forcing Him to bear our sins; but, rather, because the cross removes our guilt, we are moved to gratitude and to love. It is because He "bore our sins in His own body on the Tree (I Peter 2:24). He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bare the sin of the many, and made intercession for the transgressors (Isa. 53: 12)." This was the Divine plan, about which we had no say, in which we had no input. Like life itself, it is the free gift of the Triune God to creatures dependent upon His grace, grace to live, and now grace to be restored to His favor. Think upon the words we have read from that famous passage of St. Paul to the Philippians, that He "was obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
What can that mean if not that the death of the cross was the Divine plan? This is a profound mystery. We can understand the principle that the death of the One Who was without sin, Who never deserved the wages of sin, reverses death and brings eternal life. That His death is, therefore, the sacrifice offered to God by the Righteous One of Himself for all sinners is plain enough as a theological principle, and is itself demonstration of the love of God for the fallen children of Adam. But, the death of the cross, the death of severe pain and humiliation, involving the worst physical suffering man can feel, coupled with all of the shame and torment of cruel mocking and scourging. Why was this the Divine plan? What does each stripe mean? What means the piercing of thorns and nails, the contempt and anger, the beating over the head with a reed? Why the derision of heartless enemies added to the pain of crucifixion? What is all of this about?
The answer, as is written in the First Epistle of Saint Peter, is that He "bore our sins in His own body on the tree." We are proud, are we not, of our minds? Can we not out think all creatures on earth? But, how does God view the vain and selfish use of our minds? He crowns our proud intellects with thorns. We are proud, are we not, of the work of our hands? Have we not made things greater than the Tower of Babel itself? But, what thinks the righteous God of the selfishness with which we labor? Our hands deserve the piercing of nails. We are proud, are we not, of how we walk before God and men? We suppose that we are not like other men, and are just humble enough to render proud thanks as we pray thus to ourselves, "God, I thank thee." But, in the eyes of God our own standard of righteousness tends to self-flattery. What says He of our walk, but that nails should be driven through our feet?
But, I think I only scratch the surface of this mystery. Certainly, nothing that happened to the Son of God was an accident. He allowed it all, so it all has meaning, and the mystery is more profound than I can say, of what it means that "He bore our sins in His own body on the tree." The cross shows us the Divine sentence upon our sins, and yet, remember, that we had no power to crucify Him.
On this Palm Sunday, let us look at the determination with which He fulfilled His mission. Nothing could keep Him from the purpose for which He came as a Man, and took upon Himself our nature. In the movie "The Passion of the Christ", the "bad" thief, the one who does not fear God even while dying, is filled with anger at the sight of the Lord embracing His cross. "Fool!" he yells, "Why do you embrace your cross?!" Christ entered Jerusalem, unmoved by the praise of the crowds, for He had not come to be their King, not yet. He had come to be priest and sacrifice. The great drama of this coming week, the drama Bach expressed so powerfully through music, the drama we feel this day, and which will break our hearts on Thursday night and Friday, is the drama of His love, which produces our love, our thanks; and that afflicts our hearts with both pain and comfort at once. We, though undeserving, are loved.

Between the blogosphere's hot zone over Ronald Hutton v Ben Whitmore and someone asking for proof that the original Golden Dawn did an 180 positioning during the purification and consecration, I have been giving a lot of thought to the burden of documented proof and academics lately.
A long time ago, I came to the conclusion that no amount of proof about certain practices, including a signed, dated, and notorized letter from Westcott and Mathers, is going to convince certain people who believe that certain ideas and procedures were not part of the system. It is that simple. The stronger a person believes that certain things are one way and one way only, the less likely that you are going to be able to convince them otherwise. The same goes for trying to convince people to try new procedures and ideas out when they believe that only the ancient techniques should be used.
I have also came to the conclusion that the esoteric world needs to have both the mythical history and the actual history. Mythical history provides us with emotional support, while being able to talk about the actual history makes us less likely to look like loons.
We are not likely to ever know the absolute truth about anything. The best that we can do is assign a percentage of probability to any given fact or statement based on our current knowledge and resources.
Now I will admit that I find the flame/witch war raging around Hutton v Whitmore amusing; it reminds me of some of the mudslinging that I have seen sitting on the sidelines of academia. Yes, even an undergrad gets to see politics and mudslinging. I think that in my case, with my goal of getting at least a masters degree (history or literature or maybe both), and my past experience in the witch and flame wars (1980's Denver-yeah!), makes me more attuned to seeing how academics treat one another.
Hutton when he published knew that he was opening himself up to criticism. And he knew that not all of it was going to come from trained professionals. There is no law that says that only trained professional academics can review and nitpick the work of professional historians. (The same rule applies to professional occultists and writers.) Rebuttals can come from anyone. Just assign percent values to the original work and the rebuttals and reviews and MOVE ON!
In fact, I hate to say this (sorry to everyone)-but this flame war over Hutton's and Whitmore's works might actually be good. One of the harsh realities of book publishing is that people have to be aware of a book if it is going to sell any copies. It is word-of-mouth that sells

Myrrh-(Protection, Exorcism, Healing, Spirituality)
Myrrh was burned to Ra at noon in ancient Egypt, and was also fumed in the temples if Isis.
Burned as an incense, myrrh purifies the area, lifts the vibrations and creates peace. However, it is rarely burned alone; usually in conjunction with
Frankincense or other resins. Myrrh increases the power of any incense to which it is added.
Myrrh is also included in healing incenses and sachets, and its smoke is used to consecrate, purify and bless objects such as talismans, amulets, charms and magickal tools.
Myrrh also aids meditation and contemplation. It is often added to sachets, usually with Frankincense.
Considering the plant's shape and the fact that its gum resin has been used as a drying stimulant, it is easy to place this incense in Mars. The thorns of the tree represent the grief of loss as well as the resin's ability to protect and heal. This is an excellent incense to help with loss, whether it be that of a loved one or a great injury (and thus loss of safety) done to one's heart, spirit, or body. It brings Martial protection to the injured and is wonderful for all sorts of purification.
In the Kabbalah, it is associated with Binah, and it connects with Crone energy and thus the Underworld and the Abyss.

This week's weekly spell is a love potion (squeal) from another one of my favorite supply sites, Sacred Mists. They have a wonderful selection of items as well as some wonderful training and resources.
LOVE POTION
What you'll need:
-A decorative bottle with a cap or spout
-8 oz of extra virgin cold pressed olive oil (for ingesting spell)
-or 8 oz 100% Jojoba oil (for inhaling spell)
-fresh herbs, oils, and other botanicals*
It is best to use FRESH, DRIED HERBS FROM YOUR OWN GARDEN, "dried" because the water content in fresh herbs can spoil the potion with mold spores and "from your own garden"because the energies of others who have grown, picked and handled herbs for your spells can linger and spoil the spell.
If you haven't cultivated your own herbs and spices, never fear, for the easiest way to make the herbs your own is to "cleanse" them while you dry them. Begin by filling the bottom of a pie tin with sea salt and laying the fresh herbs on top for 24 hours. If they are still moist after that, put the tin, salt and all into a warm (not hot) oven and check every 15 minutes until dry. You can usually obtain fresh herbs from a specailty grocer. If you have the time, you can hang them upside down in a sunny window until dry. There is no need to cleanse herbs no matter where you got them if you do this as the act of drying in your own home for at least a week bonds them to your energy.
To cleanse the unwanted energies of others from dried herbs that you purchase from a farmers market or grocery store, you should store them in a salted cupboard (one that is regularly cleansed by changing out a fresh pouch of seasalt every equinox) overnight. Salting all the cupboards where you store your foods is a good practice.
THERE ARE TWO KIND OF LOVE POTIONSone is for ingesting and one is for inhaling, usually in the form of a ritual bath, and both are powerful in creating a lasting bond with your beloved.
FOR THE INGESTING SPELL, start with 8 oz. of extra virgin olive oil in a glass or stainless steel bowl (you can use stone, wood or any natural substanceanything but plastic. It's not just because plastic is "fake" but more importantly plastic is made out of crude oil and it's by-products will chemically react with many of the ingredients you put into it. If you are using a single herb (like rosemary) for the potion you can take two or three good sized sprigs and poke them down into the bottle and then add your oil and cork. Bottle should be bathed in moonlight, but if time is of the essence one weeks worth of moonlight can be traded for one days worth of sunshine. If there is no sun I reccomend setting the potion beneath a lamp using a full spectrum bulb for 12 hours
If you are mixing several ingredients you should put them in the bowl and gently stir with a wooden or stainless steel spoon. Let settle for a hour and then funnel the oil into the bottle. You might need a cheese cloth or sifter for small particle herbs and seeds. As long as particles are not too small they may be left inside the bottle.
Once you have filled and set your bottle you may give it to your beloved as a gift for cooking or you may use it to cook for your belovedat the very least you should introduce your beloved to the potion as the act of giving and receiving constitutes consent. It is never a good idea to use a potion on someone with out their consent.
To create an ingestible potion there are two aspects to consider and both of them are important. Taste and purpose. If you only took into account the purpose of the spell you could use some perfecly edible (but truly nasty tasting herbs and that will completely defeat the purpose of the potion if it is not good enough to eat. Now you can mask certain flavors, and when it comes to adding qualities to a potion it is not always important to add alot of a particular herbjust a grain or two of a particularily stout herb is usually all that is required of any herbso with an ingestible Love Potion taste is the most important thing.
DECIDING WHICH HERBS TO SELECT:
What dried herbs you want to add depending on the type of bond you wish to create. You can use a solitary herb for strong, stable potion, or you can combine herbs for their synergistic, magickal powers.
Dried Rosemary from your garden will produce a love potion is deeply rooted in familial loveor as I like to call it, the marryin' kind of love.
You can spice it up by adding a dried pepperbut not toothat much as not to disturb the relationship between the heart and stomach.
A clove or two of dried garlic will keep the sexpots awayyou want to keep your beloved all to yourself, but not too much garlic because YOU still want to be attracted to them, and too much garlic keeps EVERYONE away.
Where flavor is the lead in blending an ingestible potion, aroma takes the reigns when it comes to the inhaled spell. Any edible substance for the most part may also be inhaled, but do you seriouslly want to smell like garlic or dill? The cat might find you attractive but that's not the point, is it. So when concocting an aromatic spell, be sure to combine scents that are complimentary, and know that some scents, particularly the more woody rosemary will overpwer most of the fragrance. But that really is ok when it comes to the aromatic spell because the subject will still be affected by the underlying notes. They do not need to distiguish between them to be swayed by them.
So again you will take your jojoba oil (or you can use olive oil for bath) and your herbs and combine them as you would the ingestible spell, leaving them to set in moon ( or sun) light and then offered as a gift. This love potion that you create will be uniquely yours and thus you create the intention from the combination of ingredients you select. So for completing the spell, you simply: "give thanks, knowing that you are one with all that is and in this knowing you bless and offer your love to your true hearts desire in knowing that they are also one with spirit, so therefore you both are joined in spirit and blessed in return. and so it is"
*Here is a list of fragrant aromatic herbs with their magickal properties:

MYRTLE: Used to increase fertility.
ORANGE BLOSSOMS: Fragrance used in bath to attract a marriage proposal.
ROSEMARY: Used in every way, ingested, as incense, as oil and in a sachet, to bind two people together in a gentle, loving bond.
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS: These amazing hot red fruits aid the release of endorphins for an uplifting buzz.
SWEET PEA: An attraction flower. Used to increase popularity.
VANILLA PODS: Seductive powers; Are thought to lower another's inhibition

I took this picture today in Pueblo, Colorado. They also bought the other side of the billboard and it has a different message.
The thing that is just so painfully obvious to me is that Catholics do, in fact, worship Mary. Talking to someone who is dead, and expecting them to be able to help you, seems a lot like worship to me. I realize they don't think of Mary as God or a god, but they think she can hear millions of prayers at once, and she can at least attempt to persuade her Son to do something.
While it's obvious to me that they're attributing abilities to Mary that belong only to God, and that prayer is an act of worship to be reserved for God alone, I'll just quote a couple of standard Catholic prayers to Mary, and everyone can decide for themselves.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Morning Consecration to Mary
My Queen, My Mother, I offer
myself entirely to thee.
And to show my devotion to thee,
I offer thee this day, my eyes,
my ears, my mouth, my heart,
my whole being without reserve.
Wherefore, good Mother,
as I am thine own, keep me,
guard me as thy property and possession.
Amen.

Stephanie & her husband may be credited with setting the trend for celebrities to get married abroad. Stephanie Okereke opened up to Nigerian Tribune on why she got married in Paris in 2012,and why having children is up to God
"Imagine my wedding taking place in Nigeria? It would be a carnival and I didn't want a carnival for my wedding. He didn't want that too. We are very alike and we wanted something really special. It was not that we couldn't do it here, but we had travelled wide a lot during the course of our relationship and we really wanted something special for ourselves and our families. We weren't thinking about the people, it was about us trying to make that moment special. It wasn't what we decided, we also asked God. It was not like we chose where to get married. It was something spiritual for us to do and God also confirmed to us that we should go there and get married.
On why she isn't pregnant:
Are you God that is going to decide on that? This kind of thing, you don't decide it yourself.

What is it about music that moves us in so many different ways? The rhythm begins and we slide onto the dancefloor, gyrating to the beats; a guitar strikes a chord and we throw ourselves into the crowd, surfing across a sea of hands; a favourite song comes on the radio and we sing along at the top of our voices, oblivious to the looks of bemusement coming from other drivers stuck in the traffic jam. The right songs can change the way we feel in an instant, as effective as the mood pills consumed in Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"
I recently had the good fortune to attend a live performance of Beethoven's legendary 9th Symphony. While it is something of a clich'e - and perhaps exaggeration - to call this "the greatest music ever written" it's certainly an intensely powerful experience which has endured the test of time, remaining one of the most popular pieces on the classical repertoire. The impact of "Ode to Joy" may have suffered from its commercial overuse (countless corporations have used it to sell their products and services) it nevertheless still managed to visibly move the audience to tears and, finally, rapturous applause.
This is an example of the immense power music can have over us. Our tastes may differ but music's ability to move us on a deeply emotional level is universal - like the madeleine cake in Marcel Proust's "In Search of Lost Time", music can trigger profound memories which previously lay dormant, exciting our sense of nostalgia and creating intense feelings of joy or melancholy. There is something ineffable about the way in which music makes us feel, as if at its most profound level it takes us into the realm of the sacred, where words can no longer do justice and attempts to describe it only sully the experience.
The idea that music connects us to something divine and spiritual is not a new one. Johann Sebastian Bach -arguably the grandfather of the Western musical tradition, whose works including the sublime "The Well-Tempered Clavier" profoundly influenced generations of composers - once said, "The final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the spirit." From Apollo, the Greek god of music and light, to the Gregorian chants of the Roman Catholic Church, the association between music and the divine is deep-rooted in culture and history. For some, music itself is their religion - in the words of the legendary Frank Zappa, "Music is the only religion that delivers the goods."
But long before Bach asserted that "music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul," another great historical Western thinker was developing his own theory of music and its place in the cosmos. After hearing the tones emanating from a blacksmith's forge and observing their musical quality, Pythagoras went home and experimented with his single string instrument the lyre, leading to his discovery of the octave which was to have such a profound impact upon the nature of music. Like Bach, Pythagoras saw music as a force that, in its highest form, offered something transcendental to the human experience, believing that "the highest goal of music is to connect one's soul to their Divine Nature, not entertainment."
His deduction that sound was based on a purely mathematical formula would lead him to propose that music could be used to heal "non-virtuous" thoughts such as anger, as well as physical ailments including sciatica, sitting with the patient while playing the kithara and singing along with it. His ideas reflect what some ancient cultures appear to have known intuitively - music therapy is, after all, of ancient provenance, for example the aboriginals of Australia are known to have used the didgeridoo to heal broken bones.
Pythagoras' discovery of the "music of the spheres" went beyond its application as a means of physical and psychological healing -he conceived of the universe as a vast lyre in which planets harmonized with other heavenly bodies -an endless, intergalactic mellifluous interaction reverberating through space and time. "Music "was "number, and the cosmos was music." There is something mystical about this interpretation which no doubt stems from Pythagoras' extensive travels and possible initiation into the Egyptian Mystery Schools. Pythagoras was without a doubt a candidate for what we consider a polymath; a man of a higher nature with the ability to reach celestial realms. Did he intuit something about the musical nature of the universe?
His theories had a profound influence on numerous thinkers over the following generations. Philosophers such as Boethius, Johannes Kepler and Robert Fludd took Pythagoras' monochord - the single string instrument - in new directions, with Kepler in the 17th century attempting to define a harmony of the world in his opus "Harmonices Mundi", an attempt to unify music and movement within the solar system.
By the 20th century Pythagoras was influencing Werner Heisenberg and the new field of quantum physics. According to William Irwin Thompson in his book "Darkness and Scattered Light", when Heisenberg lectured on Pythagorianism "you will hear him emphasize that the basic building blocks of nature are number and pattern, that the universe is not made out of matter, but music." The energy of the octave - the magical number 8 - occurs not only in a number of mystical traditions, from the Taoists I Ching to the 8-fold path of Buddhism, but also features prominently in genetic science, with the "language" of DNA and RNA based in groups of 64 codons, or 88.
The very words we use to describe music directly correspond to emotional and spiritual principles. When something rings true to us it resonates, often with rich significance evoking a strong emotion. When simultaneous notes combine in a chord in a manner pleasing to the ear we call this harmony, just as when people concur in their opinions and feelings and live their lives in agreeable unison we consider this harmonic. Music which triggers certain emotions is understood universally, with scientific studies confirming that music with happy, sad or fearful emotions in Western music are recognized as such by native Africans, just as Westerners appreciate these same qualities in Hindustani music.
Just as music can provoke positive reactions in people, some argue that it can be used negatively in order to detune us from our natural harmonic relationship with the world around us. Since 1953 the International Standards Organization (ISO) has tuned music to 440 hertz, changing it from the previous 432 Hz which was thought to transmit beneficial healing energy. One theory is that this change in frequency was brought about by Nazi Joseph Goebbels, who sought to alter the collective mood and make the populace prisoners of negative consciousness. Music pioneer Leonard Horowitz stated in a paper entitled "Musical Cult Control":
The music industry features this imposed frequency that is 'herding' populations into greater aggression, psycho social agitation, and emotional distress predisposing people to physical illness.
It isn't hard to see the negative impact popular music has on contemporary society - corporate music today is an anathema to the principles of music expounded by the likes of Pythagoras, proposing a crude value system of self-adulation, materialism and greed; manufactured music set the videos replete with negative occult imagery which sexualizes and debases the performer and, by association, the viewer. The power of frequencies to affect the universe has long been understood, and just as it can be used for our benefit so too can it be turned against us. Indeed, sound has already been weaponized in the form of the Long Range Accoustic Device (LRAD), a truck-mounted device which emits pain inducing tones which has already been deployed in numerous war zones in the Middle East as well as the streets of America to use against protesters.
The power of frequencies to affect the world is vast, with the potential to trigger earthquakes and radically alter the geological make-up of the planet. Low frequency bass sounds can alter the path of flowing water so that it falls in a corkscrew, seemingly defying gravity.
This is, of course, an optical illusion - more impressive are the Cymatic experiments, which study the effects of sound waves on water, producing some incredible patterns which bear a striking resemblance to those found in sacred geometry:
The power of music and sound may be far more profound than we realise - the word "universe" itself implies the totality of everything singing together in a unified verse. As Nikola Tesla once said,
If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.
