The Great And Beautiful Mosque Of Strasbourg

The Great And Beautiful Mosque Of Strasbourg
THIS REPORT IS FROM LCI.TF1, BUT THE STORY IS ALL OVER THE WEB. THE LARGEST MOSQUE IN FRANCE HAS OPENED ITS DOORS IN STRASBOURG. AS HE OFFICIATED AT THE INAUGURAL CEREMONIES, INTERIOR MINISTER MANUEL VALLS (ABOVE, CENTER) WARNED HE WOULD EXPEL THOSE WHO, IN THE NAME OF ISLAM, THREATEN DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY, AND AT THE SAME TIME INSISTED THAT ISLAM WAS NOT RACIST OR FUNDAMENTALIST. VALLS COVERED HIMSELF IN ALL DIRECTIONS, AND HIS WORDS, AT LEAST AS PRESENTED BY THE MEDIA, ARE AN ASTONISHING MIXTURE OF FIRMNESS AND CAPITULATION.

"ISLAM HAS ITS FULL PLACE IN FRANCE, FOR THE ISLAM OF FRANCE IS ALSO FRANCE," DECLARED THE INTERIOR MINISTER ON THURSDAY, DEMONSTRATING A DESIRE FOR APPEASEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE INAUGURATION OF THE GRAND MOSQUE OF STRASBOURG. HOWEVER, MANUEL VALLS ALSO SHOWED DETERMINATION WITH REGARD TO THOSE WHO, IN THE NAME OF ISLAM, FOMENT TROUBLE. "THE PREACHERS OF HATRED, THE PARTISANS OF OBSCURANTISM, FUNDAMENTALISTS, THOSE WHO ATTACK OUR VALUES AND OUR INSTITUTIONS, THOSE WHO DENY THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN, THOSE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THEIR PLACE IN THE REPUBLIC. THOSE WHO ARE ON OUR TERRITORY TO DEFY OUR LAWS, TO ATTACK THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR SOCIETY DO NOT HAVE TO REMAIN THERE. (I WILL NOT) HESITATE TO EXPEL THOSE WHO CLAIM TO BE OF ISLAM, AND REPRESENT A GRAVE THREAT TO PUBLIC ORDER, BY NOT RESPECTING THE LAWS AND THE VALUES OF THE REPUBLIC." HE NONETHELESS EMPHASIZED: "TO BE A FRENCHMAN, OR TO LIVE IN FRANCE, DOES NOT MEAN YOU MUST RENOUNCE YOUR FAITH OR DENY YOUR ORIGINS."

REGARDING THE CALM THAT PREVAILED IN FRANCE ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22, WHILE THE REST OF THE WORLD WITNESSED VIOLENT PROTESTS AGAINST CHARLIE HEBDO AND THE ANTI-ISLAM MOVIE, VALLS SAID:

"RACISM, FUNDAMENTALISM, THIS IS NOT ISLAM." AND HE APPLAUDED "THE WISDOM OF THE MUSLIM LEADERS" WHO HAD URGED CALM AND THE "DISCERNMENT AND MATURITY THAT THE MUSLIMS SHOWED" WHEN FACED WITH SUCH PROVOCATIONS.

"IT IS TIME FOR THE ISLAM OF FRANCE TO FULLY ACCEPT ITS RESPONSIBILITIES AND TO CONSULT WITH THE STATE ON THE REAL PROBLEMS: FINANCING THE MOSQUES, TRAINING IMAMS AND PRISON CHAPLAINS SINCE RADICAL ISLAM FLOURISHES IN OUR PRISONS, ESTABLISHING SPECIAL AREAS OF OUR CEMETERIES FOR MUSLIMS, MANAGING THE PILGRIMAGE TO MECCA. MY HORIZON IS CLEAR: I WANT FRENCH CHAPLAINS, WELL-TRAINED FRENCH IMAMS AND EVENTUALLY FRENCH FINANCING," THE INTERIOR MINISTER AFFIRMED.

NOTE: SUPER! INSTEAD OF RIDDING FRENCH SOIL OF ISLAM, HE WANTS TO ENSURE THAT ALL MUSLIMS ON FRENCH SOIL ARE LEGALLY FRENCH. NEVER FEAR: IF THEY COMMIT MAYHEM HE WILL DEPORT THEM. TO WHERE?

FRENCH READERS OF THE ABOVE ARTICLE REACTED FAVORABLY. THEY SEE HIM AS THE FIRST MINISTER TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING POSITIVE. THE DISCREPANCIES IN HIS REMARKS DID NOT DISTURB THEM.

UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS MORE. THE LOCAL PAPER DNA (DERNI`eRES NOUVELLES D'ALSACE) DESCRIBES THE EVENT AND GIVES ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE INTERIOR MINISTER'S RIDICULOUS PANDERING:

REGARDING LAST SATURDAY:

"THE ISLAM OF FRANCE SHONE THROUGH THE STRENGTH OF ITS SERENITY."

THE ARTICLE QUOTES VALLS AS SAYING:

"THE MOSQUE IS LESS THAN TWO KILOMETERS FROM THE NOTRE-DAME CATHEDRAL, GIVING ISLAM ITS FULL PLACE IN FRANCE."

NOTE: AND, WE COULD ADD, REMOVING FROM CATHOLICISM ITS PREEMINENT POSITION, IF NOT DEGRADING IT UTTERLY.

DNA ALSO GIVES

"STONES HAVE NO HOPE EXCEPT TO BE STONES. BUT WHEN THEY COLLABORATE, THEY COME TOGETHER AND BECOME A TEMPLE," NOTED MAYOR ROLAND RIES, QUOTING SAINT-EXUP'eRY. WHILE AHMED TOUFIK (MOROCCAN MINISTER OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS) RECALLED THAT IN THE MALEKITE RITE OF MOROCCO, THE ROLE OF A MOSQUE IS: "TO ENLIGHTEN, COUNSEL LOVE, AWAKENING AND HOPE".

BELOW A VIEW OF THE MOSQUE. IS THIS FRANCE?

BELOW, CATHOLIC AND JEWISH RELIGIOUS LEADERS AT THE INAUGURATION. THE REGION THAT INCLUDES STRASBOURG ESCAPES THE 1905 LAW SEPARATING CHURCH AND STATE BECAUSE WHEN THE LAW WAS PASSED ALSACE-MOSELLE WAS NOT PART OF FRANCE, BUT PART OF GERMANY. WHEN THE REGION WAS WON BACK BY FRANCE IN WWI, THE LAW WAS NOT MADE RETROACTIVE.

We ask readers to suspend disbelief and consider the profound implications of this new view of a benevolent universe, which differs dramatically from views offered by either clergymen or scientific materialists. These path-breaking psychic readings demonstrate that God is an All-Forgiving and All-Loving figure, there is no Hell or Purgatory, and virtually all persons obtain admission to heaven. These readings describe in rich detail the activities of men and women in heaven, heaven's view of progress on earth, and the best means to worship and serve God.

The final interview with the Father-Mother God states this: "I want every man and woman to hear that they are uniquely beloved. My wish is to glorify each person's unique individuality. That is what God wants to do. God wants to reach out and pull every suffering heart into consciousness of its own beauty and glory, and to make all people understand how well beloved they are-cherished, treasured. I want to bring about this understanding and this acceptance." These channeled interviews are full of new biographical and historical information, as well as fascinating insights into science, the creative process, planetary evolution, political science, and global economics. The Meaning Of The Life Path

The Meaning Of The Life Path Number Of 9 In Numerology
The first calculation to make for a numerological chart is the birth date. The date needs to be written out in the mm/dd/yyyy format. For example if you were born on January 23rd of 1980 it would be 01/23/1980. If you add the numbers of the birth date together you will have the Life Path number. In the example given, it would be 1 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 0 or 24- which then reduces to 2 + 4 or 6. The Life Path number is a representation of who you were when you were born and how those ingrained traits will take you through life. Remember that the numbers need to be between 1 and 9 except for the master numbers. Do not reduce 11 or 22 as they are the master numbers and a valid result to have.

Those who were born with a Life Path number of 9 were born for a life of drama, generosity and compassion. Humanitarians, these people are honorable and trustworthy and usually lacking prejudice. They feel a deep responsibility to help out other people in any way that they can.

It is not important for them to achieve monetary success- although it is possible that they will. But that money won't stay around for long, since their generosity will win out. Material goods may flow out as freely as the money. The attitude is that they are just things, and if those things can better another life- off they go!

They are easily able to make friends due to a charming and honest personality. They tend to be optimistic, polite and friendly. Strangers are treated like friends and often do cross into that territory. Romantic relationships prove to be more difficult since it is vital that their partner be equally as generous. If the partner isn't devoted to helping others, a chasm will form between the two that won't mend.

These people are sensitive and understanding of the world around them. There is often proficiency for art, writing or acting in this path. Even if they aren't masters of the arts themselves they are well read on the subject and spend much of their time surrounded by sensory stimulation. Creative endeavors allow them to have an emotional connection with the outside world. Philosophical thinking is also strong here and they also make great judges and educators. But it is unlikely that they will enter the business world and all of its ugly competition. There is no room for them to grow there spiritually.

The negative aspects of a Life Path number of 9 include a tendency to be demanding. Those who lose their path and can't recognize that generosity is their way to turn may become selfish and greedy of their belongings and money. There may be a desire to be ambitious and forget other people's needs. But this sort of behavior will feel disingenuous and they will usually find their way back onto the path if given some time.

Author Eliza Graham Reveals Her Desert

Author Eliza Graham Reveals Her Desert Island Books And Love Of Cakes
Today is the last of my Desert Island Posts. Today I'm not touring the blogosphere but actually really touring the Cumbrian landscape on my way to Cleator Moor Library to give a talk about THE GILDED LILY. Cleator Moor is one of the more remote towns in the county, up near the west coast, so it will take me almost two hours to drive there. On the way I'll have the company of Radio 4 and some spectacular scenery. Just looked out of the window and it's raining - but hey, you can't have it all! If you'd like to see where I have been touring lately, why not visit Hoydens and Firebrands for my post on Old London Bridge, or Historical Tapestry for my post on The Smell of Old Coffee Houses.

.

Eliza Graham lives in Oxfordshire and is the author of four novels blending historical and contemporary themes. Eliza's first novel, "Playing with the Moon" was a smash hit in Germany where she has sold over 100,000 copies. Her latest, THE HISTORY ROOM, was published in May and combines reborn dolls and the Prague Spring in the setting of an English boarding school.

Eliza's first young adult novel, BLITZ KID, will be published this month as a Kindle e-book. Look out for further information.Eliza's WebsiteMore About The History Room

Over to Eliza:For my classic novel, I would choose OUR MUTUAL FRIEND by Dickens. It was one of my A level novels and I've loved it ever since. It's a big novel in every sense of the world: a little messy in times, but full of life and insight. The descriptions of the murkier parts of Victorian London would probably make me look around my beautiful desert island with relief.

For my contemporary novel, I would choose I CAPTURE THE CASTLE by Dodie Smith, even though it's not that contemporary, having been written in the fifties and set in the thirties. The descriptions of the novelist father imprisoned in an old castle dungeon to make him finish his novel would scare me into using the desert island as a chance to write, write, write. It's such a very English novel, too, that it would make me feel a little bit of home was with me.

For non-fiction I was going to select The Book of Common Prayer because, as a cradle Catholic, I had no exposure to its beautiful language. Each image is almost a novel in its own right. But now I'm going to crack and reveal my true greedy self and ask if I can choose Mary Berry's Book of Cakes (with a magic supply of equipment and ingredients). I'll be very healthy on that island, what with all the fish and tropical fruit, so a bit of indulgence on cake is in order.

(Hope Eliza leaves me some of that cake when she goes!)

Herbs Flowers And Resins For Incense

Herbs Flowers And Resins For Incense
Making your own incense to burn either in a heatproof dish or on a charcoal block is easy and in my opinion it is better then some shop brought incense the reason is you can empower it with your own power.

You can mix and match your flowers and herbs for exactly the powers you need for example if your making love incense you can use lavender for gentle love, bay leaves for faithfulness and maybe a sprinkle of saffron or ginger for passion. You can supplement partly or entirely with dried herbs and spices that you have in your kitchen and buy dried lavender heads, rose petals and chamomile flowers in old fashioned grocery stores, gift shops and some herbalists.

Picking and drying your herbs1. Pick herbs the day or days after the full moon and leave them to dry, you can remove stems after drying.

2. Collect and dry pine needles, cedar bark chippings and Juniper berries

3. Dry a bunch of herbs upside down in bundles indoors or out in a sheltered but well ventilated place that is not too cold. SImply pop a hook up and then hang your bundle of herbs upside down and allow them to dry.

4. You can also use slatted wooden racks and microwaves can be used in a hurry but micro dried herbs are not so fragrant. 5. In the summer or fine weather herbs dry very quickly they should be crumbly if pressed but still fragrant.

6. Keep dried herbs in labelled glass jars ~ old jam jars cleaned and dried are perfect keep the lid on when not using.

Shrine To Hestia March 17Th

Shrine To Hestia March 17Th
I've started an actual daily practice: lighting candles and giving coffee or tea (whatever my morning beverage is) to Hestia (who receives the first offering every day, traditionally, and the last offering every evening - I haven't done that, not sure if I will; spoons, etc). I don't say anything. It's a silent ritual. That may be because I'm currently battling a major depressive episode and I'm finding it very difficult to speak.

I'm keeping Her shrine where I do my morning ritual of drinking ALL THE COFFEE. This is partially because then I'll "remember" to give Her an offering, and partly because space for altars and shrines is at a "premium" in my new place (currently Aphrodite is sharing with my meditation altar) - one, because I am sharing this place with my partner and need to respect his [atheist-sometimes-bordering-on-anti-theist] space; two, because I am now hypercautious about what is in the main living area of the house - only what I am comfortable with other people potentially seeing. Guests, TV/internet/phone people, the "landlords." This means what
The Hestia shrine I have made inconspicuous enough, I hope. I've never actually "had" to be inconspicuous with my religion, so this isnew, to say the least. The other religious or semi-religious things out in the main area of the house are my ancestor altar, which is basically a bunch of pictures of dead people and animals and some of their personal effects, my Tara wall-hanging, my drum, interfaith prayer flags, and my Thangka - all of which can be explained away by my being a free spirited hippie Buddhist who misses zir grandparents and values peace and communication among people of different faiths. Which I am, and I do. I am just also more - and that "more" I don't want to be obvious anymore. I "dared," before I "knew," in my youth. Now I need to learn to be silent.

So.

Hoping to get a post up about March's TC Blog Project topic, Calendars, soon. I might also write about my depression. I don't know yet. I just now seem to be finding my feet back, and it's still shaky ground, shrouded in darkness.

Jyotishya The Science Of Bharat

Jyotishya The Science Of Bharat

JYOTISHYA- THE SCIENCE OF BHARAT

(Modern discoveries in ancient science)

There are a few scientific discoveries that are not found mentioned in Varahamihira's Brhat-Samhita.

How do heavenly bodies remain in the skies? How is it that they do not fall? Everybody thinks that it was Newton who found the answer to such questions. The very first stanza in the Suryasiddhanta, which is a very ancient treatise, states that it is the force of attraction that keeps the earth from falling.

In Sankara's commentary on the Upanisads there is a reference to the earth's force of attraction. If we throw up an object it falls to the ground. This is not due to the nature of object but due to the earth's force of attraction. "Akarsana-sakti" is force of attraction, the power of drawing or pulling something. The breath called "prana" goes up, "apana" pulls it down. So the force that pulls something downward is apana. The Acharya says the earth has apana-sakti.

The Prasnopanisad (3.

states: "The deity of the earth inspires the human body with apana". In his commentary on this, Sankara observes that, just as an object thrown up is attracted by the earth, so prana that goes up is pulled down by apana. This means that our Upanisads contain a reference to the law of gravitation. There are many such precious truths embedded in our ancient sastras. Because of our ignorance of them we show inordinate respect for ideas propounded by foreigners, ideas known to us many centuries before their discovery by them.

Our Jyotisa is also some thousands of years old. Even so it

foresaw the mathematical systems prevalent in the world today.

At the beginning of the kalpa, all grahas were in alignment. But over the ages they have changed their courses. When another kalpa commences, they will again remain in alignment. The "samkalpa" we make before the performance of any ritual contains a description of the cosmos, a reference to the time cycle, and so on. All this is part of Jyotisa.

Centuries ago, we knew not only about the earth's force of attraction but also about its revolution round the sun. Aryabhata, Varahamihira and others spoke of the heliocentric system long before the Western astronomers or scientists. Until the 16th century people in Europe believed that the earth remained still at the centre of the universe and that the sun revolved around it. They further believed that this was how day and night were created. If anybody expressed a different view he was burned at the stake by the religious leaders.

"It is the earth that revolves around the sun, not the sun round the earth", declared Aryabhata. He used a beautiful term to describe the logic behind his view : "laghava-gaurava nyaya". "Laghu" means light, small, etc and "laghava" is derived from it. The opposite of "laghu" is "guru", weighty, big, etc.

"Guru" also denotes a weighty personality, a great man, like an acharya or teacher, one who has mastered a sastra. If the acharya is guru the disciple must be laghu. The student is small and "light" compared to his guru. So he goes round the latter. This is based on "laghava-gaurava nyaya". By adducing this reason for the earth going round the sun, Aryabhata combined science with a traditional sastric belief.

In the old days religious leaders in Europe were opposed to science and even burned scientists as heretics. But today we join the descendants of the very

same people to make the preposterous charge that the Hindu religion stood in the way of scientific advancement, that it ignored the matters of this world because of its concern for the other world. As a matter of fact our traditional sastras are a storehouse of science.

"The sun remains still and it is the earth that goes round it. It is only because the earth revolves round the sun that it seems to us that the sun rises every day in the east and sets in the west". This is mentioned in Aitareya Brahmana of Rgveda. The text says clearly : "The sun neither rises nor sets".

That all learned people in Bharat (India) knew about the earth's revolution is shown by a passage in the Sivotkarsa-Manjari by Nilakantha Diksita who was minister of Tirumala Nayaka. One stanza in this work begins like this : "Bhumir bhramayati" and from it we must also gather that the author's great-uncle, Appayya Diksita, also knew about this truth. What is the content of this verse?

Siva is called "Astamurti". Earth, water, air, fire, space, the sun and the moon, the yajamana or sacrificer-they are all the personification (murti) of Isvara. Among them only the yajamana has no bhramana or motion. All the rest have bhramana, says Appayya Diksita. That he has said so is mentioned in the verse in question by his younger brother's grandson, Nilakantha Diksita.

We see that air has movement, that fire does not remain still, that water keeps flowing. When we look up into the sky, we notice that the sun and the moon do not remain fixed to their spots. As for space, it is filled with sound and it cannot be still. But the earth apparently stands still. Even so, says Appayya Diksita, it has motion. "It revolves".

Let us now consider the shape of the earth. Europeans claim that they were the first to discover that the earth is like a ball, that in the past it had been thought to be flat like a plate. All right. What word do we use for "geography"? "Bhugola sastra", not just "bhu-sastra". We have known from early times that the earth is a "gola", a sphere.

We call the universe with all its galaxies, "Brahmanda". It means the egg created by Brahma (the cosmic egg). An egg is not exactly spherical in shape, but oval. According to modern science the universe too is oval in shape. The cosmos is always in motion, so observe modern astronomers. "Jagat" is the word by which we have known it from Vedic times. What does the word mean? That which does not stand still but is always in motion, that which "is going".

In our country too there were people who refused to believe that the earth rotates on its axis. I will tell you the view of one such school of thought. The earth's circumference is about 25,000 miles. So if it rotates once in 24 hours then it means it rotates more than 1,000 miles an hour or 16 or 17 miles in one minute.

Those who did not accept the fact of the earth's rotation tried to prove their point thus :"There is a tree in Pune [in Maharashtra]. Imagine there is a crow perched on one of its branches. It leaves its perch this moment and soars high and, by the next minute, it perches itself again on the branch of the same tree in Pune. If the rotation of the earth were a fact how would this be possible? The crow should have descended to a place 16 or 17 miles away from where it had started.

I have not checked on how this argument was answered. But when I asked people who know modern science they said : "Surrounding the earth for some 200 miles is its atmosphere. Beyond that there are other spheres. When the earth rotates these too rotate with it". I may have gone slightly wrong in stating the view of modern science. However it be, there is no doubt that when the earth rotates, its atmosphere also rotates with it.

What are called Arabic numerals actually belong to Bharat (India). This fact was discovered by Westerners themselves. The zero is also our contribution and without it mathematics would not have made any advance. Bhaskaracharya established the subtle truth that any quantity divided by zero is infinity ("ananta").

He concludes one of his mathematical treatises with a benedictory verse in which he relates zero to the Ultimate Reality.

When the divisor goes on decreasing the quotient keeps increasing, does it not? If you divide 16 by 8 the quotient is 2; if the same quantity is divided by 4 the result is 4. Divided by 2, the quotient is 8. Divided by zero? The quotient will be infinity. Whatever the number divided, the result will be infinity if

the divisor is 0. Bhaskaracharya gives it the name of "khahara". "Kham" means zero, "haram" means division. Bhaskaracharya says : "I pay obeisance to the Paramatman that is Infinity".

Love Is In The Autumn Air

Love Is In The Autumn Air
Pic is: Gilbert Adrian: The Tigress Evening Ensemble ~ brooklynmuseum.org ~

In honor of my Tigress heroine, Kytaira... but, so yes! The Kougaress would adore wearing this evening ensemble... say, to a high fashion Halloween Costume Party. Ah dreams...

Late night maows, my purr-fect and most precious Big Cats... a long, draining day of hunt-shopping for the Kougaress... beautiful blue skies, warmish weather... just a lovely day... but still, no rain... well, this Big Cat made it into town and back... gosh-yowls, the stress of remembering everything, trying to decide what to purchase given the inflation, and the hyper inflation down the road... buy everything you can afford now because prices on food, especially, are likely to skyrocket, my darlings.

For this week ~ love is in the autumn air... yes, my beautiful Pussycats, think love, feel love. There is a sparkly radiant vibration all around us now - a new love vibration for all of us. Drench yourself in this radiance, and look around. Love is waiting to happen. All facets and expressions of love... of course.

Weekly Angelic Forecast from Volcano

Straight from the Carnal Cherub himself...

Angelic Forecast ~ #161

For the following week, a strange chaos of events is likely to occur across the planet. This will be in the political and social arena, involve the war theaters - and also include UFO sightings, and At the same time, the brutal money monopoly that has been placed over humanity, worldwide, is being tightened, and a militaristic regime is being introduced incrementally. Any manner of catastrophe, natural or not, will be used as an excuse to implement this 'papers, please' regime.

There is an interesting dichotomy occurring at this moment in history. Fear as the great controller of populations is being used and heightened to the 'nth' degree by the corrupt powers that be. Simultaneously, FEAR is losing it's grip on many who see through the constant, intense manipulation. Thus, 'fear' is now fueling a great opposition against those who wield it like a horrific weapon.

On a personal level this week, and for the month of October, know action-packed days are likely ahead. This means much can and will be accomplished. However, you must seek times of rest or risk becoming burned out. This month is also a wonderful period of time to establish enduring relationships.

From this point forward, the Aquarian desire for true freedom and the ancient 'magick' of Arthurian legend, will join hands. This will be for the purpose of liberating humanity, and bringing forth the divine race. That is, our highest selves now emerge, and we become who we truly are spiritually.

Trendwise, love is in the autumn air. Now is the perfect time to enjoy all aspects of love. Also, romantic love is taking on a new life - leaping to a higher level of expression. This is because a new vision is emerging, one that is being reflected in romance novels, and other creative, artistic endeavors.

It becomes more and more important to watch your backside, and to watch over those you care the most for - all the 'beloveds' in your life.

Cliff and Tom, the Hanson brothers, scratched their heads and frowned. Any other time the trophy buck in the bed of their truck would have drawn a crowd. Especially in a backwoods town like Talbot's Peak, Montana. This far off the interstate, the place must be chocked full of hunters. People should be oogling their kill's rack or grumbling with envy.

Kasey, the Hanson sister, didn't give two hoots about hunter adoration. She hugged herself against the morning chill and eyed the coffee shop across the street with longing.

Rite Of The Office Of The Readings

Rite Of The Office Of The Readings
Looking over the posts for the Office of the Readings, I realized that I hadn't included the actual ritual that we performed for the days following the Invocation of Horus on March 20th. I'm going to post it at the top of the blog for now, but I'll eventually be changing the timestamp so that it follows the Invocation of Horus and precedes the subsequent readings. The idea, then, is that there will be a full collection of rituals and readings for anyone who would like to perform their own series in the years to come.

This ritual was adapted by Soror Lalitha from Ordo Sunyata Vajra's "Diamond Sapphire Gem of Radiant Light" and "The Office of the Readings for the High Holy Days" by the Companions of Monsalvat.

0. PREPARATION

The ritual uses two altars, one in the center of the temple and one in the east or in the direction of Boleskine. The ritual is divided into four phases. The first three are based on the principle stages of alchemical work: Nigredo (March 20-25), Albedo (March 26-April 1), and Rubedo (April 1-7). The final stage is the three Days of the Feast (April 8-10), the three days of the writing of "The Book of the Law". The Officiant wears black during Nigredo, white during Albedo, and red during Rubedo. A candle of the same color should be left burning on the eastern altar during each of the three phases along with a statue of Horus and optionally one of Ahathoor. The colors are cycled through in the same order for each of the last three days - black for April 8, white for April 9, and red for April 10. The Officiant directs the ritual from the central altar. On this altar are placed any desired magical tools and a bell or gong. The Lectionary containing the readings is placed on the eastern altar for most of the rite and is retrieved by the Officiant when the readings are given from the central altar. It is then returned.

I. INTROIT

Music is played as the congregation is admitted to the temple. The introit music is as follows:

Nigredo: "Depth of Catastrophe" by Alizadeh

Albedo: "Ninth Aethyr Canticle"

Rubedo: "169 Cries"

First Day of the Feast: "Sirt im Sasani"

Second Day of the Feast: "Horus"

Third Day of the Feast: "Annua Gaudia" by Moore

Each member of the congregation is purified with water and consecrated with incense as they enter the temple. The same is then done to the four quarters and the two altars. Some of the pieces are fairly short so they should be played on repeat until all of these actions have been completed if the congregation is large.

II. OPENING

OFFICIANT: BALASTI! OMPEHDA!

"The Officiant performs the Star Ruby, and when finished strikes the gong."

DO WHAT THOU WILT SHALL BE THE WHOLE OF THE LAW.

ALL: LOVE IS THE LAW, LOVE UNDER WILL.

III. FORMULATION OF THE LIGHT

"The Officiant performs the Star Sapphire."

OFFICIANT: IF THEY SAY TO YOU, WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?, SAY TO THEM, WE CAME FROM THE LIGHT. IF THEY SAY TO YOU, IS IT YOU?, SAY, WE ARE ITS CHILDREN, AND WE ARE THE ELECT OF THE LIVING FATHER. IF THEY ASK YOU, WHAT IS THE SIGN OF YOUR FATHER IN YOU?, SAY TO THEM, IT IS MOVEMENT AND REPOSE. "(Gospel of Thomas, Saying Number 70)"

ALL: NOW I BEGIN TO PRAY, THOU CHILD,

HOLY THY NAME AND UNDEFILED.

THY REIGN IS COME, THY WILL IS DONE,

HERE IS THE BREAD, HERE IS THE BLOOD,

BRING ME THROUGH MIDNIGHT TO THE SUN.

SAVE ME FROM EVIL AND FROM GOOD,

THAT THY ONE CROWN OF ALL THE TEN

EVEN NOW AND HERE BE MINE.

AMEN.

"Officiant strikes the gong."

IV. PRELIMINARY LITANY OF THE OFFICE OF THE READINGS

Officiant: O my Lord, my beloved! How shall I indite songs, when even the memory of the shadow of thy glory is a thing beyond all music of speech or of silence? - Be thou Hadit, my secret centre, my heart I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

Officiant: I have wandered in desolate places; I have dwelt long apart from delight.

All: Mine heart is uplifted in me, and the serpent flame therein; I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

Officiant: In the midst of the market's booths, I was alone; only Thy voice murmured to me, "Come away!"

All: Mine heart is uplifted in me, and the serpent flame therein; I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

Officiant: Whither shall I go, if not to Thee? How shall I enter, if not by the four gates? I shall stand on the floor of Thy palace - even upon the paving of silver and gold I shall stand.

All: Mine heart is uplifted in me, and the serpent flame therein; I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

Officiant: Sweet unto me are Thy words, O my Beautiful! my ear desireth them as the fire craveth kindling. As the falcon enchained perisheth for want of flight, even so my soul for want of Thee.

All: Mine heart is uplifted in me, and the serpent flame therein; I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

Officiant: The rose turneth her face unto the Sun; I shall raise my countenance to the stars, Yea, even to the dome of stars wherewith Thou hast roofed Thine house, that house wherein I shall dwell with Thee forever.

All: Mine heart is uplifted in me, and the serpent flame therein; I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

Officiant: That House, my refuge, and the table Thou hast laid for me - O food to nourish the deepest, O wine to intoxicate the inmost!

All: Mine heart is uplifted in me, and the serpent flame therein; I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

Officiant: Thou hast spread the banquet, and I shall feast thereupon until the shadows flee away, in Thine everlasting Glory.

All: Mine heart is uplifted in me, and the serpent flame therein; I shall get me to the House of the Beloved.

"During the Nigredo, Albedo, and Rubedo the corresponding hymn is played or sung here. The hymns that we use are by the late Soror Marfiza of the Companions of Monsalvat and are named after the three stages. There is no corresponding hymn for the Days of the Feast. "

Officiant: The Speech in the Silence.

The Words against the Son of Night.

The Voice of Tahuti in the Universe in the Presence of the Eternal.

The Formulas of Knowledge.

THE WISDOM OF BREATH.

THE ROOT OF VIBRATION.

THE SHAKING OF THE INVISIBLE.

THE ROLLING ASUNDER OF THE DARKNESS.

THE BECOMING VISIBLE OF MATTER.

THE PIERCING OF THE SCALES OF THE CROCODILE.

The Breaking Forth of the Light!

V. THE OFFICE OF THE READINGS

"The readings are given here. For most of the Holy Days there are two readings. The first is the appropriate Holy Book reading according to the calendar set down by the Temple and College of Thelema ("
OFFICIANT: I AM THE FLAME THAT BURNS IN EVERY HEART OF MAN, AND IN THE CORE OF EVERY STAR. I AM ALONE: THERE IS NO GOD WHERE I AM. THERE IS NO LAW BEYOND DO WHAT THOU WILT.

"Pause."

NOW MEDITATE UPON THE DIVINE RADIANCE, THAT ONE LIGHT WHICH DESERVES OUR REVERENCE, THE ONE WHOSE NOBLE THOUGHT ENERGIZES AND DIRECTS OUR AWAKENING.

"Formless meditation or chanting follows. A mantra that we have used to good effect in this ritual is NEFER NETJER HERU WED NEH (the perfect god Horus brings life)."

VI. FINAL BENEDICTION

Officiant: Remember all ye that existence is pure joy; that all the sorrows are but as shadows; they pass but there is that which remains.

All: I am uplifted in thine heart, and the kisses of the stars rain hard upon thy body.

Officiant: May Light, Life, Love and Liberty be extended universally to all, under the regency of the One Law of Thelema. May all attain the Stone of the Wise, the Summum Bonum, True Wisdom and Perfect Happiness.

All: ABRAHADABRA!

Officiant: There is an end of the speech; let the Silence of darkness be broken;

All: Let it return into the silence of light.

Prayer Request From Father Trigilio

Prayer Request From Father Trigilio

From Fr. Trigilio:

"Sorry for the brief hiatus from the blogoshere. I was in Erie all last week to visit my mom and to preach the Days of Prayer Novena for the discalced Carmelite nuns (also in Erie). My mom was admitted to the hospital yesterday to have an EKG. She had an MRI and CAT scan last month which came back negative for stroke (Deo gratias). However, she has been having dizzy spells and has fallen several times. Her doctors suspect that is is her meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and glaucoma. All this week she has been fatigued, so the ECG was done to see if she has a heart murmur.

Needless to say, I appreciate any and all prayers for my mother. She buried three of her five children and then her loving husband of 39 years. Then four of her six siblings died in just a sequence of several months.

Being the head nurse of the Trauma Center / Emergency Room for more than 40 years did large damage to her spine, so she is also on cortisone shots to help alleviate some of the chronic pain she experiences in addition to her other ailments. While home last week, she fell at the Novena and hit her head. I am stationed more than 300 miles away in another diocese.

I visited Father Bob Levis (who also lives in Erie). He is in a nursing home. Needs a walker to get around since his nasty fall at Christmas time which gave him a cuncushion. Since then, he fell a few more times. Fr. Bob turned 89 this summer and is still very much alive but has been grounded for health reasons. Hence, you won't see him on EWTN as much or at conferecences, workshops or conventions but know he is still very much among the living but in need of your prayers. He has never been so confined and constrained from getting around. He has been independent 88 years and now he needs assisted living.

Thank you and God bless you and Mary keep you"

Father John Trigilio

Talk On Witchcraft Old And New

Talk On Witchcraft Old And New
The word "witch" has had many different meanings at different times and places and to different people: anything from a woman who tells fortunes to a vampire owl who kills infants in their cradles.

Tomorrow evening, at Secret Chiefs, Gareth Medway will be talking about the patterns in this diversity and looking at what connection, if any, there is between people who meet naked in suburban living rooms and medieval women who reputedly flew around the world on broomsticks.

Gareth is a priest of Themis and a historian of occultism.

The talk is on Wednesday 30 April and starts at 8.30pm, upstairs at the Devereux pub, 20 Devereux Court, off Essex St, London WC2. The doors open at 7.30pm. Ticket price lb2. The talk is organised by Secret Chiefs, London's longest-running pagan talks forum.

Pride Prayer Service In Boston

Pride Prayer Service In Boston

From RORATE CAELI:

"2ORDINARY ADJ "3 B : DEFICIENT IN QUALITY : POOR, INFERIOR

Yes, the Ordinary Mass for "Pride" in Boston is turning out to be quite a "drama" - but that was to be expected, right? First, the "Pride" Ordinary Mass was scheduled (see bulletin image - right), then it was vacated by the Archdiocese, then the Archdiocese partly reversed itself to allow a "Pride 'Prayer Service'". And now the local priestly member of the Parish Council attacks all whose "hate" has prevented the Ordinary Mass.

All details in Joe Sacerdo's blog - he has been at the forefront of exposing this truly ordinary Ordinary Mass. (Image on the left: Father John Unni, the twelfth member of the local Parish Council).

NOTE: anyway, why is "pride" being celebrated at all? Should it not "be carefully repressed"? Is it not "hateful in the sight of God"? Is not the "prince and ruler of this world" the "king over all the children of pride"? Is not pride "the root of all sins"? This in a very cursory reading of the "Roman Catechism "("Catechism of the Council of Trent"). So what is exactly a "Boston Pride Prayer Service"? Is it perhaps a collective display of what this same "Catechism "recommends: "Humbled in spirit, the sincere penitent casts himself down at the feet of the priest, to testify, by this his humble demeanour, that he acknowledges the necessity of eradicating pride, the root of all those sins which he now deplores".

Taurus Full Moon Rituals

Taurus Full Moon Rituals October 29 2012
The October full moon is known as Hunter's Moon. It is also called Falling Leaf Moon and Blood Moon. As the 2012 October full moon falls on the 29th, it is in the sun sign Taurus. A full moon in Taurus is an ideal time to cast spells promoting creativity, prosperity, better family relationships and practical planning.

In my eBook "Simple Wiccan Magick Full Moon Spells & Rituals", I show you how to create an Abundance Amulet, a round disk full of prosperity-drawing herbes. The ritual focuses on family happiness and a life of abundance.

OCTOBER CORRESPONDENCES FOR SPELLS

Stones associated with October are morganite, pink emerald, opals and tourmaline. Decorate your altar with calendula and marigold flowers and use lavender oil and incense.

As the Wiccan festival of Samhain, the Witches' New Year falls two days after the full moon, you may wish to reuse your altar flowers.

HUNTER MOON MENU SUGGESTIONS

After your spellwork, feast on a vegetarian three-bean chilli, made with the usual spices but with kidney beans, chick peas and black beans - an ironic twist for the Hunter Moon! Add a mixed green salad with earthy balsamic vinaigrette and a fresh fig claufouti for dessert. Recipes are included in my full moon eBook.

Blessed be!
