GREAT PYRAMIDS AND OTHER MONUMENTS
As one moves out to meet the desert, the town and villages fostered by the waters of the Nile abruptly come to an end. The true border between the settlements along the Nile and the desert proper are the Pyramids. Behind them stretches the vast desert, a seemingly endless expanse of sand. In fact, it covers the whole western part of Egypt, eventually merging with the sands of the Libyan Desert.

The first time I visited the Pyramids was towards evening. As I stood gazing up at these enormous monuments at the same time trying to get rid of someone pestering me to ride a camel other sightseers were gradually making their way back to their hotels. Even as I watched, the sun, a great red ball, was setting rapidly somewhere beyond the Libyan Desert, coloring the Pyramids with a variety of hues. The shadows cast by the Pyramids are unbelievably large; their huge forms rob whole areas of the late afternoon light, dyeing them an impenetrable black. The monoliths are stark and beautiful in their geometric simplicity and need no embellishments from me.
As I stood entranced by their form, a cool breeze began to blow and from somewhere there came the resonant voice of the muezzin calling the faithful to prayer. I felt that if the sound of silence exists, this is what it would be like; it was as if I were lost in eternity. Mundane matters my job and personal problems suddenly seemed to be of no importance. The sight of these Pyramids, urged me to think more profound thoughts, to contemplate the significance of man, life, death, history and of time itself. Looking at these massive crumbling stone monuments, my sense of time became hazy and dulled by distance. The realization of the transience of human existence and man's impotence seemed to be born in me in a single moment. Albert Camus once wrote about the desert: "It is a place where no one can live, but there is no doubt that some will consider a way of doing so."
I cannot say why, but I felt a peace of mind difficult to describe.
I seemed to comprehend how the religion of Islam could be born out of the harshness that is the desert. The people of the desert cleanse their hands by rubbing them with sand, and it seemed to me that sand can also purify the spirit. My irritation of a few minutes earlier now seemed foolish. It did not matter that, unbidden, a guide had actually got into my car, or that, after having taken a photograph of some camels in the distance, I was asked to pay for the privilege. So without a motion of protest and without speaking a word, I placed a little baksheesh into the outstretched hand of the small boy who approached me. "Shukran" hand clenched over his chest in the traditional Arab greeting the boy expressed his thanks, and I found it a very beautiful gesture.

I marvelled at myself. The Pyramids and the desert were having a profound effect on my state of mind. When he was alive, Nasser maintained a villa in the vicinity of the Pyramids, and now, so does President Sadat. Exhausted by politics, he comes here to revive himself, to gaze out over the desert and the Pyramids, to become lost in his thoughts.

Yesterday, December 18th was the feast day of Epona, the Gaulish/Celtic goddess of horses, who was adopted by Roman soldiers in ancient times. The Romans were, contrary to what many believe, very accepting of other religious beliefs, incorporating various foreign deities into their own pantheon. Her name, in Gaulish, means"Divine Mare" or "She who is like a mare." She was also a goddess of fertility, abundance and rebirth.
Epona is associated with horses and was worshiped primarily by those whose livelihood depended on horses, foals and mules, such as soldiers, carters, stables hands and grooms. Her shrines were found in homes and stables, with statues and plaques depicting Her seated on a horse sidesaddle or surrounded by horses. Sacrifices were made to Her in the Roman manner; libations of wine, offering of incense, animals and roses.
Epona is also a goddess of dreams and nightmares therefore She would be the Lady to call upon when in distress from night terrors or for assistance with dream divination and interpretation of those dreams. Epona could also assist one when manifesting a new direction or path in life.
For me, She was always about the dream world; it was there that She most often made Herself known to me when I first heard the call of the Goddesses. Earlier, I offered incense and rose petals in Epona's honor.
In addition to this pleasant endeavor, I also celebrated the third night of my Nine Nights of the Winter Solstice Hallowing. The libation and offering have each received a third addition, cinnamon for the libation and actual cinnamon bark, harvested and brought to me by a friend just returned from travel, for the offering. The night before, my second night, I added oregano to both. Another bayberry candle is also burning for our Winter Solstice spell. The scent of bayberry, balsam, pine and now oregano and cinnamon fills my home; a delight to our olfactory senses!
Later tonight, in addition to my forth night of winter solstice honoring, I now enter the second set of three nights, known as deep night, I will also honor Ops, Roman goddess of abundance, fertility and success. I will make an offering of bread and apples, and a libation of spiced, sweetened wine, in Her honor, requesting continued fruitfulness and abundance for those I love and myself, as the Sun returns. May Her blessings be upon you as well.

Do we honestly believe that this herd mentality is not to be found throughout our society and even in the Church? If so, we deceive ourselves. Pope Benedict XVI has warned of a liberal notion of conscience which is nothing less than a retreat from truth. In a keynote address of the Tenth Bishops' Workshop of the National Catholic Bioethics Center, on "Catholic Conscience: Foundation and Formation," he says that liberalism's idea of conscience is that: "Conscience does not open the way to the redemptive road to truth - which either does not exist or, if it does, is too demanding. "It is the faculty that dispenses with truth". "It thereby becomes the justification for subjectivity, which would not like to have itself called into question". "Similarly, it becomes the justification for social conformity". As mediating value between the different subjectivities, social conformity is intended to make living together possible. The obligation to seek the truth terminates, as do any doubts about the general inclination of society and what it has become accustomed to. Being convinced of oneself, as well as conforming to others, is sufficient. Man is reduced to his superficial conviction, and the less depth he has, the better for him."
Is there really any difference between Harter's classmates, who insisted that they could see a planet and its moons when such was impossible, and those who succumb to social conformity and insist that an unborn baby is not really a human being when all the scientific evidence suggests otherwise?
Where will radical subjectivism ultimately lead us? Terry Sanderson, president of the National Secular Society and spokesman for the Protest the Pope initiative in the UK, insists that "Our title is Protest the Pope and that's what it means - this particular pope, Joseph Ratzinger. It does not mean protest the Catholics.." (See here).
What of this? At their own website, they state: "The Protest the Pope campaign is calling on the British government to disassociate itself from "the Pope's intolerant teachings" on issues such as women's rights, gay equality and the use of condoms to prevent the spread of HIV. On these and many other issues, Benedict is out of step with the majority of British people, including most Catholics. Pope Benedict opposes women's ordination. Women are deemed unfit to preach the gospel. This is an insult to the whole female sex. The implication of the Pope's teaching is that women have no moral capability or capacity for spiritual leadership. This is pure patriarchy, sexism and misogyny. The Pope says artificial contraception is a sin..." (See here).
What Protest the Pope refers to as "the Pope's intolerant teachings" is, in reality, not "his" teaching. He is merely its guardian. He confirms his brethren in the faith (Luke 22:32). Pope Benedict XVI is not advancing his own '"opinions." He is teaching what every Pope before him has taught and what the entire episcopate teaches. Therefore, Protest the Pope is anti-Catholic. The initiative opposes the teaching of the Catholic Church with regard to the above-cited issues.
The problem for Protest the Pope is that every one of the issues which they oppose the Church on are taught in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. And, in his Apostolic Constitution Fidei Depositum, Pope John Paul II wrote, "THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, WHICH I APPROVED JUNE 25TH LAST AND THE PUBLICATION OF WHICH I TODAY ORDER BY VIRTUE OF MY APOSTOLIC AUTHORITY, IS A STATEMENT OF THE CHURCH'S FAITH AND OF CATHOLIC DOCTRINE, ATTESTED TO OR ILLUMINED BY SACRED SCRIPTURE, THE APOSTOLIC TRADITION, AND THE CHURCH'S MAGISTERIUM. I DECLARE IT TO BE A SURE NORM FOR TEACHING THE FAITH.." (No. 3).
In the same document (No. 1), Pope John Paul II says that, "It can be said that this Catechism is the result of the collaboration of THE WHOLE EPISCOPATE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.." In other words, all of the Church's Bishops.
Protest the Pope is not being honest. It's hatred of Pope Benedict XVI stems from the fact that the Holy Father courageously teaches the Gospel message. This is why they attack his person and mission. His teaching is not his own. It comes from the Lord Jesus. And because the Holy Father remains faithful to the Lord Jesus, like his predecessors, he is hated by those who reject Jesus' way of love and peace.*

The power of the Golden Dawn tradition comes from study and DOING THE WORK on a daily basis. While the GD community seems to be filled with people that want to collect papers, or make-up variations of the work, the real work as taught by the tradition found in the cipher MSS. and the Z- DOCUMENTS is where the POWER resides.
Look, we all want something new, and our egos want something new all the time. But tradition brings forth power and dedication and persistence. IT IS IN THESE QUALITIES THAT MAGICAL POWER IS AWAKENED.
Take for example the Lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram. Many GD groups do not teach their students to do this ritual daily. We do. We believe that on a deep mind level you are uniting with the perfection of pentagram ( Spirit ruling over matter ) and that the more you perform this ritual, the deeper the concepts and constructs of the ritual become part of you and you become part of the ritual. At some point you are no longer doing the ritual, the ritual becomes ALIVE and works through YOU. You are the conduit of the current, but this POWER only comes though constant dedication to the tradition.
Next we discover that someone somewhere is changing the basics of the Golden Dawn rituals.
*They change the Divine Names to fit their personal paradigm rather than expand to fit into the GD.
*They change the direction of the elements. Some even have changed the pentagram symbol.
Our take on this is simple, if it works for you, do it. But let us be very careful not to confuse it with CLASSICAL GOLDEN DAWN and the tradition as taught by Mathers and Westcott.
In any event, our basic point is, that this system as been well thought out. It is timeless, and it works and it awakens the LATENT POWER WITHIN YOU if you stick with it and give it time to allow it to work through you. Most importantly, do not be mis-led by the collectors, find a mentor or Order that is filled with passion, and then develop the passion within yourself for the work. It is the passion pointing upwards that gives life to the work. Anything less is piles of old papers that eventually turn to dust in the hands of the collector.

He's appeared on MTV's TRL most recently and his fans went pretty crazy! He said, "it was a real good experience, when I walked out, I could see everyone looking up at me waving and it was my best experiences!"
V.I.C. shared with us the reason why he chose to title his album, Beast. "I felt like that's what I had to become to make it. I had no help or financial support for this album in the beginning, I just had my talent. I just had to be a beast about it to get noticed in the industry," says V.I.C.

It seems the phenomenon of Protestant propagandist misrepresentation of English history is inescapable this week. First, the Orangemen paraded inaccurate images of the Battle of the Boyne; now the London Dungeon is in trouble over its advertisements featuring "Bloody Mary" Tudor - Queen Mary I - on the London Underground. The complaint against the Dungeon is not that it perpetuated a sectarian myth but that it terrified children by juxtaposing a normal portrait of the Queen alongside one of her transforming into a flesh-eating zombie.
Actually the image does not appear any more terrifying than the average poster advertising horror videos or heavy metal bands; but the Advertising Standards Authority has prohibited further use of it. The poster was promoting a new show entitled "Bloody Mary". A Dungeon spokesman was quoted as saying: "Bloody Mary killed over 300 heretics during her reign but was one of Britain's lesser known villainous figures, overshadowed by her notorious father Henry VIII. The object of the advertising was to show the dark side of her personality and portray her as a villain."
In other words, to promote junk history. Well, the London Dungeon is hardly an academic institution and at least he had the grace to admit that Henry VIII was "notorious". That raises the question: why, in that case, devote a show about an "evil" monarch to Mary I, rather than Henry VIII? Because that is the black legend that has been perpetuated by establishment propaganda since the reign of Elizabeth I, is the evident answer. Even today, schools and universities are still subject to the mythology created by Sir Francis Walsingham and other creatures of Elizabeth, carried on by Victorian poets - "Fall into the hands of God, not into the hands of Spain..." and all that tosh.

The root problem is historical illiteracy and it will take the reform of weightier institutions than the London Dungeon to correct that.

Even after an hour of google-search, I could not locate even a single web page giving scientific information on this magic berry. On the other hand there are thousand of web pages marketing Rudraksha beads online! The only write-up I could locate that even remotely approaches the subject on a scientific basis is a news report about a claim made by some ayurvedic researchers. Thankfully, I am diagnosed Bipolar II, hypomanic depressive. I say "thankfully", because a huge number of persons who are bipolar and undiagnosed commit suicide due to lack of or incorrect treatment, and the deplorable symptoms that can accompany the disorder and/or mistreatment. Bipolar doesn't have to mean crazy or stupid. Few could ever imagine the idea but the Bible says the destiny of those living at the close of earth's history will decide their fate based on choosing to worship the Creator of all living things or going along with the laws of mankind for the peace of mankind. There will only be two sides to this issue.
Interestingly enough, in and around the year 1888 there was a bill presented to the congress of the United States (second beast of Revelation 13) to enforce or honor the first day of the week. This was known as the 'Blair Bill'. This was the type of what Jesus referred to as 'when you see the armies encompassing' know that it is near. This was the antitype of the first siege and a warning to all watching to flee and prepare for the crisis. Few listened.
Now in 2011, it is that same group who are picking up the pace to get this Lord's day agenda pushed into congress. Another thing that really threw me off was how the article quoted the president of the Seventh-day Adventist Seminary Neils-Erik Andreasen. Interesting.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY OF THE CATHEDRAL
This unfinished building has been claimed as being the world's largest cathedral. It is realistic to maintain such high aspirations when your sources of funding include tycoons like JP Morgan and prominent figures like the Grand Master of the Masons of the state of New York. The completion of the cathedral was such a prized accomplishment for the Freemasons that it was featured on the front page of "Masonic World" of March 1925.
The article states:
"It is particularly fitting that the Masons, who were the principal builders of cathedrals and churches during the greatest cathedral-building period, should now have a prominent part in the movement to build America's greatest cathedral (...) The article openly admits that masonic cathedrals represent the best legacy of the Brotherhood and the symbolism is prominently showcased. The masses are however too ignorant to recognize the meanings behind the art, so they just stare at them, thinking "it's pretty nice".

FREEMASONRY AND THE OCCULT
As you might know, Masonry has been, through the ages, the keeper of the "ancient mysteries", which are occult and esoteric teachings only communicated to the initiates. I will not explain here the mystery religion as it takes several years of studies to get some understanding. I can however say that the occultists draw their teachings from ancient Egyptian, Babylonian, Kaballah and Gnostic cultures, who predate by many centuries the Christian era. On the western facade of the building, stonemasons have sculpted numerous scenes that seem oddly out of place for a Cathedral. The most striking one is the chilling depiction of the destruction of New York city and its landmarks.

The scene above was done in 1997, four years before the destruction of the Twin Towers. Other recognizable skyscrapers are the Chrysler Building and the Citigroup center.
APOCALYPTIC NEW YORK
The scene above might be unsettling for New York residents. We see the Brooklyn bridge crumbling with cars and buses falling into agitated waters. At the right is the Statue of Liberty, which seems to be sinking in the water. Beneath this horrifying prophecy is the New York Stock Exchange, with people trading goods around it.
So, what is the purpose of this weird carving? Well, the first thing that needs to be mentioned is the actual St. John the Divine is credited for writing the Book of Revelation in the Bible, which describes in symbolic imagery the events of the apocalypse. Occultists believe that the Book of Revelation has been hermetically coded to reveal its true meaning to the initiates of esoteric teachings. This scene, carved on the west entrance of the cathedral, depicts New York as being "Babylon the Great", the city who gets completely destroyed by the wrath of God. The Book of Revelation mentions:"

HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE?
A scene depicting a birth from some kind of flower, surrounded by mummies and above a lamb with its legs tied. Who is being born? Is the Anti-Christ who is said by the Book of Revelation to the beast "coming up out of the earth; and had two horns like a lamb"? Underneath is a spiral vortex (symbolizing change of consciousness?) and people apparently praising or worshiping the figure.
PILLAR SYMBOLIZING DEATH WITH THE "WHEEL WITHIN A WHEEL, FULL OF EYES ALL AROUND" FROM THE VISION IN THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL.
Pillar with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. The Book of Revelation is said to be encoded with Kabbalistic numerology to reveal its esoteric meaning.
THE MAN ABOVE THE TREE OF LIFE IS ALSO UNCHARACTERISTIC FOR A CATHEDRAL. IT IS ONE-EYED (SEE THE EYE OF HORUS) AND WEARS A HUGE CLEAR QUARTZ AMULET, WHICH IS SAID TO HAVE MAGICAL AND METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES.
Little to no documentation exists about the meaning of the pillars and the rest of the Cathedral contains a lot of art with strange symbolism alluding to catastrophe and a new era. Strange place.
The artists might be on to something because there is indeed numerous similarities between the actual New York city and the description of Babylon the Great in the Bible. The Book of Revelation mentions:
A "GREAT PROSTITUTE" who sits on many waters - peoples, multitudes, nations and languages - holding a golden cup. She rules over the kings of the Earth. = The Statue of Liberty
Merchants of the Earth who grew rich of her "excessive luxuries", weeping because nobody buys their goods anymore = New York Stock Exchange

Knowing that, still today, over 70% of the world's capital goes through the NYSE, we understand why the building was depicted on the apocalyptic pillar. It represents the "financial" aspect of the Book of Revelation, where it repeatedly refers to rich merchants and trading goods.
So, a landmark of NYC, the St. John the Divine Cathedral, predicts in vivid detail the destruction of its home city. Pretty unusual. Under the rendering of the NYSE, we a skeleton and strange creatures, who seem to represent death and destruction. Is this some sort of prophecy?
THE TEMPLE OF UNDERSTANDING
St. John the Divine is the headquarters of the Temple of Understanding, an interfaith effort to steer away people from traditional religions to a hybrid kind of spirituality based on New Age philosophies, Neo-Paganism and a mix of organized religions' traditions. The "friends" who have assisted the founder Juliet Hollister include John D. Rockefeller II, the XIV Dalai Lama, Pope John XXIII, Eleanor Roosvelt, UN Secretary-General U Thant, International Planned Parenthood and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Jean Houston, a New Age guru and supporter of the Temple of Understanding wrote in her book "Trojan Horse":
"The Temple's purpose is to facilitate the one world religion, through the promoting both the acceptance and the embrace of all religions, beliefs and rituals. The Temple of Understanding's Meditation Room was to be known as the "Hall of Illumination"' where the Illuminati, Masters of Wisdom, Our Leaders of the Temple of Understanding will train the public in the new humanistic cult...to create a new type of mystic"
The Temple has received full UN accreditation and has been a key actor in the "spiritual" department of the UN. Twelve individuals listed as Directors or Advisors of the Temple of Understanding are also members of the UN's Global Forum councils. Those Forums have received numerous speakers who've openly supported a neo-pagan world religion based on Earth worship. James Lovelock, one of the speakers mentioned that "Gaia" (an ancient term describing the Earth as a Goddess) was the giver of life and had the capacity to heal herself. He describes humans as being cancers to Gaia, an "illness too overwhelming for her to heal herself". In other words, humans are parasites to the goddess Gaia.
Al Gore has been a guest several times at the Cathedral of St.John the Divine where he infamously said "God is not separate from the Earth". Well, in Christianity, Judaism and Islam, God IS in fact separate from the Earth (in the Heavens). If you decipher Gore's phrase:
GOD = EARTH = EARTH IS GOD
Gore has been repeatedly applauded by Pagan groups for his

Another member of the board of directors of the Temple of Understanding is Thomas Berry. He believes that the world is being called to a new, "post-denominational", even a post-Christian belief system that sees the earth as a living being - with mankind as her consciousness.
OK, SO WHAT THE HECK DOES THIS MEAN?
If you read my article about the Georgia Guidestones or the Denver International Airport, you're already aware of unusual monuments and art placed by powerful yet secretive groups calling for a new type of global spirituality. Key words or expressions are often used to make this religious shift socially acceptable: "Peace", "balance with nature" or "harmony with the infinite". How can you be against peace? You can't. Those buzz words hide however the means that will be used to obtain those objectives: "Peace" will only happen when all there will be a single world government. "Balance with nature" will only happen when the world population will drastically decrease and "harmony with the infinite" will only happen when the world will give up traditional religions to embrace neo-pagan humanism.
The St. John the Divine Cathedral acts as a nervous center for the spiritual side of the global shift. Through numerous forums and UN summits, the Temple of Understanding reunites leaders from all major religions to devise a universal message. This message will later be communicated to the masses through local religious networks. In a slow yet steady manner, all religious faiths are leaning towards the same sets of values and will eventually converge into humanism.

I wish I could report to you about the lazy hazy days of Summer up ahead, but judging from the vibes, it'll be more like the greatest show on earth starring various exploding truth-bombs. Maybe that's a little extreme, that probably more like Fall 2008! Whatever's up ahead, it's too much to do all at once, so I'll begin with what's in the air now, and put the rest in the July and August on-line newsletters.
For Everyone: One emotional circumstance that people have to move through-especially fire signs- is the anxiety that comes up as one starts to change. "Beginning anew" can bring up anxiety that is like stage-fright, which goes away once you walk on-stage. I get the impression that those taking radical personal plunges are particularly supported by the "vibe in the air", the very positive energy of this time. A lot that's beginning now is more heartfelt, more sincere. Love and truth are forces that grow in June, fueling transformations everywhere. Let yourself change in this auspicious cycle!
June is a communicative, dramatic, and playful month but expect false starts in it, and quite a bit of inconvenience. COMMEMORATED ON MARCH 9
In the year 313 St Constantine the Great issued an edict granting Christians religious freedom, and officially recognizing Christianity as equal with paganism under the law. But his co-ruler Licinius was a pagan, and he decided to stamp out Christianity in his part of the Empire. As Licinius prepared his army to fight Constantine, he decided to remove Christians from his army, fearing mutiny.
One of the military commanders of that time in the Armenian city of Sebaste was Agricola, a zealous champion of idolatry. Under his command was a company of forty Cappadocians, brave soldiers who had distinguished themselves in many battles. When these Christian soldiers refused to offer sacrifice to the pagan gods, Agricola locked them up in prison. The soldiers occupied themselves with prayer and psalmody, and during the night they heard a voice saying, "Persevere until the end, then you shall be saved."
On the following morning, the soldiers were again taken to Agricola. This time the pagan tried flattery. He began to praise their valor, their youth and strength, and once more he urged them to renounce Christ and thereby win themselves the respect and favor of their emperor.
Seven days later, the renowned judge Licius arrived at Sebaste and put the soldiers on trial. Licius then ordered his servants to stone the holy martyrs. But the stones missed the saints and returned to strike those who had thrown them. In prison, the soldiers spent the night in prayer and again they heard the voice of the Lord comforting them: "He who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live (John 11:25). Be brave and fear not, for you shall obtain imperishable crowns."
On the following day the judge repeated the interrogation in front of the torturer, but the soldiers remained unyielding.
It was winter, and there was a severe frost. They lined up the holy soldiers, threw them into a lake near the city, and set a guard to prevent them from coming out of the water. In order to break the will of the martyrs, a warm bath-house was set up on the shore. During the first hour of the night, when the cold had become unbearable, one of the soldiers made a dash for the bath-house, but no sooner had he stepped over the threshold, than he fell down dead.
During the third hour of the night, the Lord sent consolation to the martyrs. Suddenly there was light, the ice melted away, and the water in the lake became warm. All the guards were asleep, except for Aglaius, who was keeping watch. Looking at the lake he saw that a radiant crown had appeared over the head of each martyr. Aglaius counted thirty-nine crowns and realized that the soldier who fled had lost his crown.
Aggias then woke up the other guards, took off his uniform and said to them, "I too am a Christian," and he joined the martyrs. Standing in the water he prayed, "Lord God, I believe in You, in Whom these soldiers believe. Add me to their number, and make me worthy to suffer with Your servants." Then a fortieth crown appeared over his head.
In the morning, the torturers saw with surprise that the martyrs were still alive, and their guard Aggias was glorifying Christ together with them. They led the soldiers out of the water and broke their legs. During this horrible execution the mother of the youngest of the soldiers, Meliton, pleaded with her son not to persevere until death.
They put the bodies of the martyrs on a cart and committed them to fire. Young Meliton was still breathing, and they left him to lay on the ground. His mother then picked up her son, and on her own shoulders she carried him behind the cart. When Meliton drew his last breath, his mother put him on the cart with the bodies of his fellow sufferers. The bodies of the saints were tossed in the fire, and their charred bones were thrown into the water, so that Christians would not gather them up.
Three days later the martyrs appeared in a dream to St Peter, Bishop of Sebaste, and commanded him to bury their remains. The bishop together with several clergy gathered up the relics of the glorious martyrs by night and buried them with honor.
There is a pious custom of baking "skylarks" (pastries shaped like skylarks) on this day, because people believed that birds sing at this time to announce the arrival of spring. Forty "skylarks" are prepared in honor of the Forty Martyrs.

Together let us honor the holy company united by faith, Those noble warriors of the Master of all. They were divinely enlisted for Christ, And passed through fire and water. Then they entered into refreshment praying for those who cry: Glory to him who has strengthened you! Glory to him who has crowned you! Glory to him who has made you wonderful, O holy Forty Martyrs!

You abandoned all earthly armies, cleaving to the heavenly Master, O Forty Martyrs of the Lord. Having passed through fire and water, O Blessed Ones, you have fittingly received heavenly glory and many crowns.

I'll try to present my book "I found it" as follows:
Chapter 11
...He went to the Baltic Sea in his mind - across all the Baltic States: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia where approximately a million people stood arm in arm in a human chain of about six hundred kilometers "Cross" mark...That painting did not have any equivalent through all eras and in all styles of painting because it did not have any style. That picture breaths freedom with any person individually and personally in one totality. It reflects the goal achieved through gaining freedom from the span of Soviet totalitarianism during the course of history. He thanked God for the ability to enjoy peace without slavery together with all the people in free Lithuania. The Jews enjoyed similar freedom after they had been freed from Egyptian slavery and God a little child of the Nation had been taken to the Promised Land, Israel. Political slavery was abolished together with the Soviet tanks in Lithuania, the amber land mourned by Mary, in 1991. Pope John Paul II came and blessed Lithuania 1993. The amber land of Saint Mary Lithuania belongs to the only God.Halleluiah!...
The story of a man called John Strazdas, a young man in Lithuania, a beautiful little country which was once a part of the communist and faithless Soviet Union, is so expansively told that it transcends from being the story of just a man to being the story of an entire nation and its people.
And indeed, it's a story of Christianity, of a young man's deep, all-abiding faith in Jesus Christ, how it inspires him to reach out for a morality of the highest order, of his dreams and passion for his country, and his people.
This book is not a quick read, and it requires an understanding of philosophy, theology and a deep faith in God to truly capture the beautiful essence of this remarkable book, to truly understand the journey of young John Strazdas.
There is so much going on in this book, what held my attention most was the clash between opposing ideologies, between Christianity and Atheism, as was practiced by the Communists of the old Soviet Union. I was astounded by the writer's brilliantly thought out arguments made through his protagonist on why Christianity is such a beautiful faith, and why "Faith" always triumphs over the "faithless".
With great happiness, I give 5 stars to an outstanding book and a truly wonderful effort by the writer, Levas.
