Vampirism In Modern Life

Vampirism In Modern Life

By Jason Joseph

Vampires are not simply relegated to myth and legend. Vampires are not the simple minded killing machines displayed in movies and
Vampires typically have a high degree of psychic awareness and need to supplement their energy by acquiring available energy or blood. Vampires range the spectrum of religious beliefs and do not necessarily align themselves with any one form of religion. There are as many who believe in Jesus as there are those who believe in Buddha.

Some of the members of this group have been persecuted needlessly. A person suffering from the blood disease of porphyria is not likely a vampire. Many vampires do not know the origins of their condition and would be at a loss to explain why they crave energy and grow ill without it.

Many discovered their need for blood, which is not digestible, at a young age without knowledge of their nature. They simply found themselves strongly drawn to raw meat and consumed it. It was only later after exposure to myths and legends regarding their condition that they develop fear, possibly self-loathing, as society and general ignorance become an increasing factor to those who do not remain discreet.

Debate about the origin of this condition is far from settled among those who number among it ranks. Theories range wildly from Babylonian magic gone wrong to possible links to Lemuria or on the more pragmatic side a defect, or mutation, which may have been part of an evolutionary process within our ancestors that has been largely bred out. Some maintain it could be a virus, others an inherited or spiritual condition.

People with spiritual ability may be able to discern the differences in the aura of a person who is a vampire as a silver, or white, mist seems to exude above the ethereal layer. Other sensitives may be able to detect a general flow of energy toward this person. Because of the hidden nature of this condition the person may not be aware of their nature.

Those with spiritual healing experience have mentioned that a vampire may have significant healing ability if they are so inclined. Others, who follow a magic using path, may mimic many of the energy using behaviors similar to a vampire.

Those who are spiritually inclined have mentioned that a vampire is able to use their abilities to affect powerful positive change in the metaphysical groups they are involved in.

Defining characteristics are difficult to pin down as a group. Sensitivity to light, sound, and smell are widely reported. Few of those who possess this condition also report psychic disruptions that can seem mild to bizarre. Those who have this condition generally do not seem to be greatly "enhanced" by their state but often complain of limitations and drawbacks indicative to their circumstance.

Many are also uncomfortable with the term "vampire" as it has negative connotations.

Actual definitive characteristics can be vague and while the definition is largely subjective to those who choose to claim it, it is possible that there could be a true condition that exists which 20th century medicine and science is thus far not yet aware of, or chooses not to acknowledge, or could but by a different name.

Generally cautious and pragmatic, a true vampire should be respected if they are recognized and not exposed to scrutiny or fear-mongering. If the troubles of your life seem difficult to bear imagine having their troubles as well as your own.

Information regarding vampirism is difficult to locate, as its accuracy is doubtful, though there are certain message-boards that are serious minded about the condition.

The Sphinx Speaks You Have Completed

The Sphinx Speaks You Have Completed Your Purpose On Earth
This message is more for many of the old souls upon earth, but can be useful for some of the new ones as well.

When we speak about the fact that you have completed your purpose, we speak about the fact that you have spent lifetime after lifetime, learning and experiencing upon earth, as the earth took care of you and in your way you took care of the earth.

It is time to let the young souls have their space upon earth, to have their time upon earth, as some of you will still be there to guide them but in a different form.

The earth was meant to be a physical learning experience, but was never required to be this long of a human physical experience.

It was meant to be a place where you would move up and back from a full source being into a human experience, still being able to access your full source being.

You have all drifted far away from this and now it is time for many of you to go back to this.

Yet many of you have no understanding, no human understanding we should say as many of your spiritual parts know this really well and have tried to guide you back to this form of existing upon earth.

You have been cut off from many of these parts of you and at this moment many of you are still cut off from these parts of you.

Experiences within the dimensional realities are not full experiences, many see them as full as it is something they have not experienced before.

The fact remains that many of you still have no understanding of the purpose of life upon earth, you are so entrenched within the physical experience that you do not see what is right before your eyes.

The shift you have just gone through is another chance to return the earth and all upon her to their original purpose.

Seemingly unnoticed by many however you are all still stuck within the old belief systems where there is no escape from the physical reality you have experienced over and over again.

How many times can you learn about grief, sadness, love, hate and anger?

When is it you begin to understand that you were stuck within a time loop created by a control system that did not allow you to move beyond its limitations of the physical?

The shift has taken you out of the old control into a new time line, a place where unlimited possibilities have entered again. Yet, within your own human being you have taken the control system with you, encoded within you.

No new codes can change this, and no new energy will change this, only you can change this.

Freedom is not something you know about, you think you have, it is something that can only be fully experienced by moving into your original state of being.

It is nice to know that you think you are more than a physical being, that you know that in reality you are a spiritual being, but what steps have you taken to bring it into fruition.

As many of you at this moment are still looking for a real purpose, you have found some small ones along the way, but I think many will admit that there still is something more.

We have spoken about this so many times, going beyond the physical, going beyond the physical reality, moving into a state of being source upon earth.

Moving back into your spiritual bodies, transforming the physical into the spiritual.

We cannot spell it out more clearly.

Many of you are falling back into the old control systems beliefs in a way, and a new control system is built through you. Before the shift the main control system was in the earth herself, at this moment you are assisting in setting up a new control system through your own human belief systems within your physical body. The old ways have not left, they are within you and even though you say you have moved beyond, you are holding on to all that was holding you back before and holding back now.

You have made changes within you, changes within your beliefs, but none of them move beyond the earth reality into your real reality. The only way you can do that is leave behind the earth reality and move fully into your source reality.

Leaving behind all beliefs of the human, but also the beliefs about the spiritual.

What you see as your spiritual reality is only a small part and it will remain small unless you make the choice to really move beyond all limitations.

This means that you actually take steps to move beyond.

Moving beyond is not done by just accepting what is present, thinking that the new energies are going to do it, as the new energies are not there for the purpose of you moving beyond all limitations. They are there to support all that will remain upon earth as they have not completed their experiences upon earth.

You have to realize that small steps are needed for the ones that remain upon earth, changing the earth reality in a reality where full consciousness is experienced by all would mean that the ones that are here, or have just come here, will not be able to go through their experiences and learning process they have chosen upon earth.

For those that are ready, time to grow up, leave home, and move onto the greater pasture of exploration once again.

POSTED BY: "KALIMIR" JAI MA KALI@YAHOO.COM JAI MA KALI

Thu Mar 3, 2011 7:58 am (PST)

This is not a traditional call. this is something I wrote while thinking of this great Orisha.

Obatala, I call you oh Orisha of light, clothed in white.

You who are brilliant as the sun in the brightest sky and bright as the moon on the darkest night. Pure and without spot, I call you mighty Orisha. I invoke, stir, and summon, and conjure you. Be here, oh pure Orisha of art. Hail and welcome! Ashe.

I received this one during a ritual to Horus. Luckily I recorded the

ritual as I

went into a deep deep trance and this is what came out of my mouth. I

copied

down word for word. I am a priestess of Isis and the aspect that chose

me was a

solar Isis; Isis Re the feminine Re. Horus the Shining one is of course

her son.

I saw him as a human child on a solid gold throne in a solid gold room.

In the

trance I mentioned there were many inds of jewels near him. As nice as

they were

my interest was in Horus and so I went to him and never laid one finger

on the

treasure.

Days Of Samhain Day 28 Thinking About The Dead

31 Days Of Samhain Day 28 Thinking About The Dead
Remember last week or so ago I wrote that my sister (who is making a giant life leap and moving permanently to Turkey) wanted me to be the curator of our maternal Grandmother's dresser?

I finally got said dresser in it's proper place in my Goddess room today...so I thought what better time and place to put up some pics of our late Mother (two years in the Summerlands ), and my lovely old dog Holly, who passed in early Summer. I just got the pics in place and the phone rang -

Sis!

Psychic Scorpio she is, she never calls during the day...today she just wanted to talk about Mum just at that very moment I did as well!

We talked for ages about things we should have done and said, things Mum couldn't do for us...in particular, Sis gets totally pissed off that Mum never had any decent amounts of money, and could never have helped us out money wise - often it was the other way round!) She did however help us out in many other ways, running to our aid when marraiges were crumbling, kids were sick, or we just needed 'A Mum fix'.

I do so miss my Mother...we didn't live in each others pockets, but she was there if I needed her. In January my husband and I had a huge stupid argument (over a broken mobile phone of all things ) and I was so angry and hurting...I went into the cupboard where I kept a lot of her small things and her photo just JUMPED out at me...as if she was telling me...

I may be gone in body, but I am always with you, watching out for you.

So if you're looking over my shoulder Mum, I know you don't need the veil to be thin to let me know you're there. I hope my beautiful old dog Holly is with you, watching over us. And I promise I'll look after your Mother's dresser, the one with the mirror you looked into every night when you brushed your hair before bed. And I will polish it on a regular basis!

Witches. if you still have your Mothers, enjoy them because life is short and we don't always get the time to do and say the things we want to. Don't hold back with those hugs...be kind to each other!

from left - me, Mum, Sis...about six years ago.

My Holly (the big one!)

I miss her watching over us at night. I miss watching her doggy mind counting us when we all came in at night and she could relax knowing we were all in and safe. And I miss her happy doggy smile most of all ! My husband wants another German Shepherd, but she will never be replaced. I hope she comes and visits on Monday, I would so love to see her again, just once.

Happy Friday, Witches!

Decoy Terrorism

Std46
It is a matter of public concern that the BBC, a public service broadcaster, has been duped into giving so much attention to the decoy terrorist attacks in London today.

The religious terrorists who, in the name of religious fundamentalism, disrupted the transport network in the British capital this morning, are small fry compared with the political and economic terrorists currently meeting under the cover of the G8 banner at Gleneagles.

It is these eight men, and the covert puppeteers who mind them, who are the real terrorists. One of them, indeed, is the chief poisoner of the planet.

His task at Gleneagles is to defend the industrial status quo in his country which, although accounting for only 5 percent of the world's population, consumes 26 percent of the world's energy and belches out 23 percent of the world's energy-

Shanta Gabriel Being Grateful No Matter

Shanta Gabriel Being Grateful No Matter What Feb 10 2014
Our current theme for Inspiration for the Week is going back to the basics.

The Gabriel Messages book and the companion cards continue to be basic tools for me that are powerfully relevant for these challenging times. We are drawing on the compassionate and timeless wisdom of The Gabriel Messages now to provide insight each week as we move into the New Life that 2014 promises.

For this week's issue, my web angel Lana chose a card about Divine Right Attitude.

The Gabriel Message card for this week Be grateful for all that you have and all that you are.

With all that is going on in the world and in our lives, it is easy to get disgruntled. Sometimes it is easier to just let our thoughts go into the negative channels, where we seem to have a habitual groove, and just ruminate on how bad things seem to be.

It takes discipline and effort to switch to a different channel where we can look from a higher level, a more grateful perspective. When we do this, it can take us directly into our hearts, and then from our heart's intelligence we are able to create from a more resourceful place. Gratitude is the attitude that allows us to be inspired to feel more love and appreciation for our lives. That is because Gratitude is a powerful energy surge that raises our vibrational frequencies to the level where we can see beyond the immediate appearance of disharmony to the truth of the dynamic force of the Divine working in our lives.

This powerful energy force can work with us to create a life that is more in keeping with what we want to experience. It responds to our thoughts and feelings very directly. In the new energy system in which we are living, we have clear choices about how we want to live. In this time of heightened energy frequencies, we have been given a blank slate where we can formulate our lives. We can do this from our heart's longings, and even from our deepest dreams, hopes and wishes. Though this may sound very simple, because of our habitual ways of thinking, it takes an extreme focus of our attention on what we truly want to experience instead of what we don't like about ourselves and our lives.

This is a very powerful tool, simple but not easy; empowering or disabling, according to the magnetic energy we are projecting into the fields around us. Physics tells us that we have a field of unlimited potential waiting for us to seed our futures. The magnetic energy of our thoughts and feelings is the seed that creates attraction to a different experience. That is why keeping our energy frequencies as high as possible makes such a difference in what we are experiencing in life.

When there is nothing else we can think of to do, being grateful can be the key that turns the tides of our feelings into the channels of new life and well-being. It is an amazing and powerful tool just waiting for us to put it into action. With this simple tool you can turn your life around as you become more grateful for all that you already have in your life. Consider how truly fortunate you are, and open up to new feelings of Gratitude and Well-being. Just like a dial on a radio, changing the channel to the one that beams out Harmony, Joy and Love will gift you with a totally new perspective. Then naturally your magnetic field will radiate more of these good vibes, and through the Law of Attraction, your life will begin to make some big changes. That is just the way it works. Simple...

THE GABRIEL MESSAGES #15

Dear One, You have so much to be grateful for. At times it may feel as though life is hard, and yet if you can pull back from its drama, you will see how fortunate you truly are. Even the lessons you are now going through are a blessing.

Though it may feel as if you don't have enough - whether it's time, money, health, or love - you actually have been blessed with a tremendous gift. That gift is your life. A physical body is a wondrous blessing. Take time to observe the miraculous occurrences in your body. It is a miracle that messages are transmitted from your brain so there is movement in different parts of your body. It is a miracle that you don't have to tell your heart to beat or your stomach to digest. The physical body is a constant source of awe when you consider it a gift from God. You are to use this body to learn your lessons in life and to help bring heaven to earth. You are here to create a better world for all. You are here to learn to find peace and harmony within yourself so all people on earth may experience this. One person finding inner peace helps to bring peace to the entire world.

You are a part of a wondrous Presence in whom you live, move and have your being. The presence of Spirit exists beneath all your tumultuous thoughts, and between your breaths. You are here to remember this fact, and to live in this awareness at all times. This Presence is constantly giving, and you can consistently receive the blessings available by focusing your attention on the truth of who you are. You can know that whatever situation is occurring in your life, or in the world, God is in the midst of it all.

PRACTICE

Be grateful for this gift of Universal Presence within you. Be grateful for your body and for the lessons you are learning which assist your spiritual progress. Take the time to see the beauty in nature - a flower, tree or bird - and be grateful for the beauty of the Divine there and within all things.

Be grateful for the presence of the Angels in your life. These messengers from God are a powerful force for love and wisdom in your world. You can call upon them at any moment, and their assistance is available for you. This is a supreme gift.

And be grateful for all that you are. You are a spark of light radiating God's Presence on the earth. You are God's Love expressing to others. You are God's Wisdom remembering the truth of Divine Order in every situation. You are so much more than what you seem. Remember the expansiveness of your true nature, and be grateful.

Your gratitude opens the floodgates for Heaven's blessings. Gratitude creates an energy that beckons good into your life. When you are grateful, you feel more peaceful and more fulfilled. It is easier to remember that God is within all people and situations. And you can begin to be a witness rather than being embroiled in life's dramas.

You hold the key to peace on earth. As you gratefully focus on the truth of your divine nature, remember your message from the Angels today:

Be grateful for all that you have and all that you are.

Diversity Is Cultural Suicide

Diversity Is Cultural Suicide
When immigrants enter Britain, they must come to integrate not colonise.

Therefore if they wish to join public institutions like the police then they must demonstrate their respect for British culture and respect for the majority population and history of Britain by adhering to our norms, not imposing theirs.

Therefore they must integrate into our society, not we surrender our culture to accomodate them.

( The bits about the illuminati and jewish central bankers in the article below are bug bears of the author, which I disagree with as the bankers of the world are not just Jewish - wherever greedy men are in the world then a banker is born so they are of all races and all religions - and the illuminati do not exist, but the globalists do. The article is interesting for what it says about diversity, not the conspiracy theories)

The former 7-Eleven clerk has been in the country for just three years but his cultural needs trump those of the 136-year-old Winnipeg Police Service. Apparently the WPS has no cultural tradition worth preserving; its uniform has no significance whatever.

The move isn't uncommon in Canada, with Sikh officers in cities such as Ottawa and Vancouver wearing turbans. We have no cultural identity in Canada. Perhaps this is the reason.

I hope the Filipinos, Somalis and aboriginals who make up Winnipeg's rich cultural mosaic also will be able to modify their uniform.

ISN'T DIVERSITY GREAT?

I expect that if I were 35 again and joined the Punjab police, they'd let me blow off the turban and wear a Jewish skullcap or Mountie hat.

I'm sure I could take Saturdays or Sundays off to celebrate my religion. To help me remember my homeland, they'd allow a Beaver Insignia and Tim Horton's logo on my uniform. That's multiculturalism!

And I expect that if 20 million people of European Christian extraction moved to the Punjab, they'd move heaven and earth to ensure we got our proportionate share of good jobs.

I know Punjabis value "Diversity" as much as we do.

[This is where I insert my Disclaimer: I like racial minorities. I like their restaurants and cooking. They have strong family values and this is more important now than ever. I was married to a Filipina for two years. I am not a racist in the negative sense.

I'm all for people being treated fairly. That means hiring on the basis of qualifications and ability, not quotas for color and gender.]

EUROPEAN CHRISTIAN DUNCES

This article is just to marvel at the stupidity of the fast-shrinking European majority and the perfidy of the traitors who pass as their "leaders."

I am all for having racial minorities but it should be obvious that "Diversity" is a ruse. Europeans are being sweet talked out of their national birthright. They're fast becoming the next minority in Europe and North America and, with all the guilt trips, I'm not sure they'll be treated with the same "tolerance."

Apparently Jews can have a country where they are the majority and set the cultural standard. So can Indians, Arabs, Africans, Japanese and Chinese. But Europeans cannot.

Europeans have a sense of political and economic entitlement, and represent the last potential resistance to Illuminati control. They have vestiges of Christianity, the thing the Illuminati hate more than anything. According to Christianity, man has a Divine soul; they obey God and thereby become more God-like. The Illuminati see people as animals trained to obey them.

Many "minorities" and "women" are beholden to the Illuminati who put them in power. They are their trained seals.

Were "Multiculturalism" or "Diversity" ever major election issues? No. They were never debated. They entered the world in the form of "political correctness.' To question them exposed you to charges of bad taste and racism.

Multiculturalism and Diversity are social engineering programs introduced by the Illuminati (Masonic Jewish) central bankers. They are designed to change the European and Christian character of Europe and North America. They prevent us from maintaining and celebrating our cultural identity and traditions. Take school prayer for example.

Similarly, feminism was an excuse to undermine marriage, heterosexuality and males in general. The school prom, virginity and even courtship went the way of the dodo. Marriage and birthrates plummeted.

Dunce Cap.jpgEuropeans have been sweet talked out of their national birthright. Our politicians work for the corporations or unions which are all controlled by the central bankers. They're not our leaders. They're our managers at best. Chief McCaskill and all the other clarions of "Diversity" are of the same ilk.

So I'd like to suggest a traditional head covering for the future European minority. It's the Dunce's Cap. It's for people who don't appreciate their blessings and don't protect them. It's for people who don't have the smarts to perpetuate themselves, their values and traditions, and as a consequence become extinct.

And if you're feeling resentful, don't blame the minorities. Let's blame ourselves and our so-called leaders - the politicians, pastors, academics and pundits who sold us out for a profit to the Illuminati bankers and their satanic New World Order.

My Introduction To Africa My Review

My Introduction To Africa My Review Of Dancing In The Shadows Of Love

The red dusty road

When I first went to Southern Africa in the late 1970s I was so uneducated and naive about life out there... my geography was quite good, I had my stamp album! - for places, structures, flora and fauna, I knew there were different coloured peoples, but I had no concept of apartheid, the way of life or the tribal aspects.

My father's brother had married a South African and my mother's brother had left England to farm in Rhodesia, as it was then. The family weren't desperately polite about the peoples and my farming uncle wasn't terribly successful - it wasn't the right area, and probably luck was against him - ultimately it was - he was killed on his farm.

Sugar Bird on Protea

And in those days I didn't ask or delve... when the time came I went to see some friends in Zimbabwe and a newly married girlfriend in Johannesburg, as well as the two 'relative' families.

"Oh yes - in my late teens I'd met a South African lady at a course we were both on in London and I was bemused (shocked) when she said she had clean sheets every day (servants to me were 'unknown')..". so when I went out it was with eyes wide open, with a brain completely devoid of anything helpful!

Buffalo Thorn

We, as a family, weren't terribly social and my airs and graces were pretty simple... I was easily overawed - getting to southern Africa was like hitting a time-warp... there were the old colonial ways, the new modern influences, the stick-in-the muds, the mix of nationalities and all that brings... the racist slurs (which I didn't understand properly - more importantly couldn't) and the new continent with its red earth.

I've added in this background as Judy's book "Dancing in the Shadows of Love" took me right back to those early days... including the albino character. My mother-in-law's maid, who needed extra work, came to work for me - not a comfortable situation... but if I didn't employ her, there would be less money going back into the family in the township. To top it off... Mary had a daughter, who was an Albino - so I certainly felt for them. When I started reading Judy's book I had extraordinary reminiscences of those days... my complete inability in working out what was going on around me - oh yes I fitted in... but so much was so different to any experience I'd had, yet it was old England. I was artless - it's a feeling I still conjure up today.

Judy had sent me a copy of her book through Smashwords, and not owning an eReader, I had my first experience of reading a book on my computer - this I found very easy on the eye. I was completely swept up into the euphoria of the sights and smells of Africa, the beautiful, yet harsh landscape... the land that one does not forget.

So first things first - Judy on 20 June posts about "Reading e
Last and by no means least - here's an example of a book that's been set out to give us an understanding of Africa its myths and symbolisms, the poverty, the racial divide, colonialism, the modernising of the relics of the old ways, yet why the core of each culture is so important to the continuance of life and belief in such life.

It's a fascinating expose of southern Africa, while drawing on a strong knowledge base of the English language, bringing in Jewish aspects, the indigenous norms, some dialects - the feel of this melting pot that is Africa.

A quiver tree

There are some reviews out there of this wonderfully powerful book... and so my review takes a slightly different approach - you have my own backdrop to my initiation into Africa - the timeframe of the vestiges of colonial life from the early 1900s to recent times - so many changes, yet Africa remains to draw us into its red dirt, to catch us with its thorns, to woo us with its charms, to teach us to look at the earth and life together - to learn from the wisdom of the indigenous people, who will permeate their thoughts into our souls for the continuance of good.

White Rose

I have posted some photos around the text - to bring to life some words that can be helped with a visual jogger for those who don't know Africa. This is a book that you will enjoy, you will learn so much from, a text that will draw you back... Judy is giving us additional background information in recent posts... for example: "Shakespeare in the Shadows" of 29 August.

She has given us more than just a book... more than just a novel - it will open your mind to so many things. It is a book to be read twice, or thrice... to refer back to the glossary, to mull over... as her preface quote by "SRI SATHYA SAI BABA (MYSTIC, 1926 - 2011)" says:

There is only one language, the language of the Heart. "There is only one religion, the religion of Love."

I highly recommend this book and encourage you all to read it... Another of Judy's posts: Can you sever Love from Charity?

"The photos I have used don't refer to this post - but will be found in the book, which I hope will help you visualise the descriptive passages."

"Dear Mr Postman - my mother would be amused to know that I've written my first book review, bringing in my memories of my early days in southern Africa. This is now being posted on her 91st birthday..."

"... she was awake and all three of us managed to visit - one of my brothers opened the cards and shared the news with her... and then I went through them again later on. She cannot eat or drink... so information, cards and flowers are the things that give her pleasure - and most importantly the companionship."

Congratulations to the winners of Judy's book - following on the interview with her that I posted on 29 September: Patricia of Patricia's Wisdom Theresa Milstein - Theresa's Tales of Teaching Tribulations and Typing Teen Texts Karen Jones Gowen - Coming Down the Mountain Rubye Jack - Blue Skies Sunny Days

Year Plans Eric Nash Bash And Doing Our Duty

5 Year Plans Eric Nash Bash And Doing Our Duty
After a very-very-very-late-night, almost-dawn supper, someone asked what our 5-year and 10-year plans were. Everyone, he insisted, had to have a plan. Two people said they planned to marry (although no potential spouse was in sight). Someone envisioned great evangelistic projects to reach the unreached in Singapore. Another person had mission strategies all sorted out and ready to roll.

Well, the last chap mumbled, I guess I'd just like to keep continuing in Christ, to grow in knowledge of Him and love for the saints, to keep teaching the Bible faithfully and following up with those who don't mind me keeping in touch with them.

How trite and tried, he blushed.

That's already a given as a Christian, someone else drawled, what are your plans over and above that?

Erm...that's it, he said. That's it. And blushed even more deeply.

So I told him about Bash.

Eric John Hewitson Nash (1898-1982) (or "Bash") was (and still is) not a well-known man. So not much has been recorded about him. From the little we know, he was eccentric. He didn't fit in. Most people didn't take him seriously. Even his friends acknowledged that his pulpit skills were few. He had a weak voice. He was painfully shy and hated crowds. He was neither athletic nor adventurous, neither musical nor artistic. In fact, he was completely and snigger-worthily tone-deaf. He "possessed no masculine panache". He was unemotional. He lacked any special intelligence and charisma. He was always late for appointments. His biblical scholarship was severely lacking.

Yet this same man brought John Stott to Christ and has been credited by Dick Lucas, David Fletcher, Mark Ashton and many others as being instrumental for influencing them positively for God. And these men, in turn (as is obvious to all who live in this present generation), have influenced thousands and thousands of others all over the world.

The Unreached

It all started with an idea of Bash's that was roundly criticised and which others were certain would never work.

Bash's idea was this: where was the toughest mission field in the world? Where had people been passed over and neglected and unreached by gospel preachers? His answer: England's top public (as in private, posh, exclusive) schools. The educational institutions of the very rich and the very privileged. His own time at Rugby had showed him that nominal religion was often passed off as Christianity in these schools. Not a mutter of the gospel was to be heard. So started his mission/ministry to the youth of the top schools in England in the 1930s. (Over the decades, this grew into the annual Iwerne camps now run by Titus Trust, which produced many men who have since gone into full-time paid ministry appointments and have been telling the gospel to newer generations of people everywhere.)

Some criticised this specialisation as elitist:"Are not all men equal before God? Of course", would be Bash's quiet and only rejoinder.

There was much snobbery and class consciousness in these schools between World War I color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">The Message

Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), Bash's message never moved far from the basics of the gospel. He adopted what he called an "ABC" approach. It was necessary to Admit the need of God's forgiveness and seek it; to Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ; and to Call upon Christ to come into the heart to cleanse and renew it.

The Man and Ministry

Surely, there must be more. How did Bash influence so many boys? What made them listen to him?

Recordings of his talks assure listeners that it was not his public-speaking skills that persuaded (as much as is humanly possible) boys to give their lives for Jesus. But we are told by the boys, now old men, that 2 things stood out: (1) his Christ-centred life; and (2) his letter-writing ministry.

Of his Christ-centred life, it has been said that Bash prayed knowing that all depended on God, but he preached as if all depended on man. The cross of Christ was not just the starting point for Bash's Christian life and ministry - it was the plumb-line by which he kept a true course heavenward.

His love for the boys was apparent. He didn't just want them to come into saving knowledge of Jesus. He wanted them to mature and win others for Christ and build them up. So Bash spent incredible amounts of time and energy on follow-up, even until the boys grew into men who preached their first, then 100th sermon.

He would exhort, encourage and correct by writing letters. He would sit in at their sermons. He would urge the "successful" in ecclesiastical circles to use their influence for good. He also kept them humble. The story goes that an archbishop received a note from him saying,"Dear Bill, you are a big boy now but don't forget... and perhaps you could..."

And of his ministry of letter-writing, it has been said that Bash was never separated from his writing materials, especially on his "missionary journeys". During the war he continued to travel, sometimes driving many miles to visit a small group or even only one boy, or using the erratic war-time train service. There he would sit on an ill-lit railway platform during the blackout, with his attache case on his knees and his writing pad on it, "redeeming the time" by writing letters.

Bash took the trouble to visit John Stott at boarding school and wrote to him once a week for 5 whole years. The letters were neither chatty nor shallow. Each of them were mini talks encouraging Stott to grow as a Christian and giving him practical advice on how to live the Christian life. And John Stott credits this early nuture as essential for his Christian growth.

Stott later found out that Bash also prayed for him every day.

Bash was but one person through whom God brought many into saving relationship with Him. How many more unf^eted, unrecognised, unseen workmen must there be?

Bash's story is inspirationally worthy of a Christian Reader's Digest which aunts like to read at bedtime.

But what are we to make of it? Should we seek to emulate Bash or any of the other missionaries to strange tribes in faraway lands?

I suppose this is an instance of one person doing his duty as a servant of God. And our first and foremost concern should not be emulate him but to also do our duty as servants of God.

Doing Our Duty

Q: Have we been saved to do grand evangelistic plans? Have we been saved to map out massive mission strategies?

No. We are God's workmanship, created in Christ to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Becoming Christian does not mean baptising our secular ambitions and lust for power and glory into Christian terms.

The good work we are to do is to keep continuing in Christ, not following the ways of the world and the desires of the flesh and our sinful nature, to grow in knowledge of Him and love for the saints, to keep teaching the Bible faithfully.

Q: Over and above this, should we be proud that we have grand evangelistic plans or mission strategies? Should we be proud when all the people we follow-up become bishops and archbishops and leaders in solid biblical scholarship? Should we be proud that we have reached thousands and thousands of people with the good news? Should we even be proud that we are going about our evangelism and follow-up quietly behind closed doors so only God will know the good we are doing?

Any plan to share the good news is in itself part of our life as God's children and servants, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to be saved. But we cannot take credit for any good that we do. Because (1) the harvest is not ours but God's. For Paul planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow (1 Corinthians 3:5-7); and (2) even our good works are not our own doing for it is God who works in us to will and to act according to his good purpose (Philippians 2:13).

Q: Do we think imagine as we go about doing all this, God will thank us fervently on the Last Day? Do we envision that the more we do, the more God will reward us richly?

Says Jesus:

Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field,"Come at once and recline at table"? Will he not rather say to him,"Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink"? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say,"We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty." (Luke 17:7-10)

BOOK REVIEW - ATLANTIS IN THE AMAZON

POSTED BY: "GLEASON.MIKE@COMCAST.NET" GLEASON.MIKE@COMCAST.NET GLEASONM01915

Atlantis in the Amazon by Richard Wingate (c) 2011 Bear and Company ISBN: 97s8-1-59143-120-6

Paperback 200 pages 16.00 (U.S.) 18.95 (Canada) www.InnerTraditions.com

Unfortunately, like many stories of ancient mysteries, the proof for this book has been taken under the control of the "authorities" which, sadly, means there is no way to verify the accounts contained within the covers of this book. And, although there are copious photographs, including a number in color, there are few details visible in many of them and no sense of scale. For a number of reasons, mostly unstated, a number of the artifacts documented by Mr. Wingate have either "disappeared", been "misplaced", or are available only to "qualified, credentialed" experts to examine. This naturally decreases the chances of dissenting opinions making their way to the popular media.

The first half of the book is dominated by the nuts and bolts kind of ooparts (out of place artifacts) which it is (at least theoretically) possible to check up on as well as possibly touch yourself. The second half, however, is almost an entirely different situation, since it deals with myths, legends, and prehistory and the possible interpretation of such.

The difficulty with such speculation is that it is inherently unverifiable. Anyone's interpretation COULD be the right one. The odds are that you will find as many theories as you will people willing to offer them.

There are theories in the second half of this book which I have never encountered before - including the conquering of Atlantis by the Aryan inhabitants of ancient India. There are other speculations and, admittedly, fictitious reconstructions which will, unfortunately, undermine the potential realities contained in the earlier portion of the book.

There are references scattered throughout the book to readings given by Edgar Cayce (America's "Sleeping Prophet") in the early part of the 20 th century. There was a time when his readings were as popular as the prophesies of Nostradamus, although they are less well-known now than the 2012 Mayan "end times" prophesies. How reliable they are is open to interpretation - he missed the predicted re-emergence of Atlantis in the Caribbean during the 1970s, and many of his predictions were made for individuals, so there is no way of tracking their effectiveness.

The final quarter of the book is devoted to a series of appendices - translations of Critias and Timeaus (two of the earliest extant references to Atlantis) and "A Deeper Look at the Crespi Collection of Cuenca, Ecuador" - which, while not new for the most part, help to explain some of the underpinnings of that which has gone before.

As always, things tend to come in cycles and I have suddenly noticed an upswing in

MUSIC REVIEW - KIVA SO FAR

POSTED BY: "GLEASON.MIKE@COMCAST.NET" GLEASON.MIKE@COMCAST.NET GLEASONM01915

Sun Jan 15, 2012 2:17 pm (PST)

Kiva So Far CD by Kiva (c) 2009 9102226572 14 Tracks Running Time: 65:12 15.00 + 5.00 shipping and handling (U.S.) www.kivasong.com MP3
This is an album which is comprised of songs requested by some of the fans of this excellent group as well as some which are standbys of their performances. KIVA has seen some changes in their lineup of performers over the years, and this release is performed by the current lineup exclusively.

Ariana Lightningstorm sings lead on the majority of the tracks on this disk, and her voice lends a distinctive sound. There is something about the music which comes through in a very special way. As I was listening to "Sea Called" for the first time, I felt a chill travel up and down my spine...I haven't had that happen for a very long time. It is a sure sign that there is more to this song than is readily apparent.

Once again, the songs are mostly from the minds and pens of Kiva, with occasional imports from other sources. This gives the members of the group a chance to showcase their diverse talents.

Whereas the first CD from Kiva that I reviewed ("Out of the Corner of the Eye") had a basic theme to it, this one is a wide-ranging collection of songs with no one over-riding theme. In some ways that makes it more appealing, since there a variety of styles and formats available. I won't attempt to describe their style other than to say that is heavy on percussion and makes use of everything from flute to didjeridu to convey moods from light hearted to more serious.

My daughter has commented to me that most of the Pagan music she encounters is heavy on the Goddess-theme and/or invocation style. That explains why I prefer groups which are either mainly instrumental or which tend towards a story-telling style.

Without a doubt, this group is going to be one I will be watching for. I may not grab up everything I see from them, but their new releases will definitely be getting a listen

I ran across a mention of this group quite unexpectedly and decided that it fulfilled a couple of "requirements" I had previously established for myself. The most important one was that I had never heard any of their music before (although when I find a group I enjoy I am more inclined to continue finding and reviewing more from them), and the second was that (based on what I could determine) the music was not going to fall into a genre I have trouble relating to, such as heavy metal or rap.

This CD contains both original music from the members of Kiva and some offerings from others. They show a love and respect for the spirits which inhabit the world and which hover just beyond the edge of that which is normally observable. The figures and characters conjured by this music are those that you cannot see directly, but only from the corner of your eye - that little flash that draws you to try to find what attracted your eye in the first place.

The songs which comprise this offering are heavily weighted in favor of ballads, with a sprinkling of instrumental offerings. They cover everything from praises of liminal times of day and season to celebrations of the blessings of children to the "Battle of Evermore" (from Led Zepplin).

Without hesitation I can say that there is a bit of everything here. I do have to admit to a bias in favor of the ballads. Having said that, however, I must also say that under certain circumstances a nice little instrumental piece can be quite satisfying as well.

The more I listened to this disk under different circumstances - while reading

The Kangaroo

The kangaroo is mostly terrestrial and all are herbivorous. They are found throughout Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea. They have long powerful hind legs and feet for hopping and leaping, their predominant forms of locomotion. Their long tails, thickened at the base are used for balancing. Each long narrow hind foot has four toes. The number four is the number associated with foundation. When the kangaroo appears it is asking you to review the foundation on which you stand, your ideals, beliefs and actions and then take a giant leap over all obstacles that have prevented you from attaining your dreams.

The feet are rich in symbology. It is through the feet that the body makes its essential contact with the earth plane, and through the muscular control of the feet that balance in the body is maintained. Feet represent that part of the individual which is most closely akin to the material plane of manifestation. The kangaroo teaches us how to balance our material life with our spiritual knowledge. When this medicine is underdeveloped foot and leg problems can occur. Kangaroo medicine people make excellent reflexologists and movement therapists.

When kangaroos have a chambered stomach that is functionally similar to cattle and sheep. They regurgitate the vegetation they have eaten, chew it as cud, then swallow it again for final digestion. The digestive and eliminatory systems of those with this medicine are very sensitive. Proper care of the stomach, chewing food thoroughly and incorporating herbs and digestive aids into the diet is helpful.

When kangaroos are chased by predators they are incredibly fast. They hop quickly and effortlessly to safety. They don't stop and think about where they are going, rather they allow their instincts to move them. This is a great teaching for those with this totem. Instead of contemplating each and every step we take in minuet detail we need to follow the kangaroos lead and allow our instinctive knowing to guide us. Instinct balanced with intellect restores our trust in spirit.

Kangaroos are incredibly focused. Their energy field is tightly woven around them preventing distractions. Those with this totem need to keep their personal energy fields clear of outside influences to aid them in staying centered and focussed.

When the kangaroo hops into a persons life get ready for adventure and change. The kangaroo dares you to leap into the unknown without fear, connect with your personal rhythms and honor your intuitive knowing. The choice is yours.

The Kestrel

The kestrel is the smallest member of the falcon family. Like all birds of prey it is strongly connected to the accuracy of movement. Speed and grace in hunting are its strongest attributes. Kestrels perch themselves high above their prey. When the timing is right they swoop down, hoover in the air and attack. Hovering is uncommon amongst most birds and symbolizes the ability to use flight to its fullest advantage. In a person this advantage plays out through the creative imaginative

mind strengthening ones intuitive agility.

Kestrel medicine people often have the desire to site or be placed in a position where a wide range of vision is possible. They also enjoy high places with an expansive view. Their need to spend time alone is strong and a sense of independence is necessary in order to maintain healthy relationships. They do well in any type of work that requires planning and make excellent strategists and diplomats.

The kestrel teaches us how to discover our personal rhythm and respond to it accordingly. As we expand our personal energy field and awaken our sight into a broader perspective we learn when to act and when to retreat. The power of the kestrel is mental concentration, patience and precise action. It recognizes opportunities and acts upon them at the correct moment.

When the kestrel appears it might be asking you to stimulate your mental faculties and move quickly and gracefully into your desired future. It teaches you to listen to the rhythm of each situation and commit to your actions for the greatest success.

The Kingfisher

Kingfishers are found worldwide but are mostly tropical. They are solitary birds that utter distinct rattling or piping calls that can be heard a long distance away. The ability to express oneself in a clear and concise manner is part of the teachings it holds.

Their usual nest is a burrow in a sand bank or in a hollow tree. Kingfishers have been known to tunnel into sand banks several feet. This indicates the need for sacred space around them. Those with kingfisher medicine will find that they must have time within their day for quiet contemplation where intrusions of any kind are not permitted.

Bold in its actions, the kingfisher will dive headlong into the water to catch small fish. It shows us how to plunge into the unknown with confidence and not with fear. Kingfishers have large heads, long and massive bills and compact bodies. Their physical appearance is symbolic of the challenges and opportunities relevant for those with this medicine.

A large head can indicate past life connections relating to the misuse of the ego. In this life a need to keep the ego in balance is mandatory. The long and massive bill of the kingfisher suggests a need to use ones words carefully and their compact bodies represent a need for regular physical exercise and the toning of ones muscles. This need is sometimes a result of a past life influence relating to physical health or structural imbalances that is present in this life.

Kingfishers are found near the water. Water is associated with the emotional body of man and those who have this totem will find a strong need to live on or near the water. An exception to this is the Kookaburra, a forest kingfisher who is less associated with water.

The kingfisher is a bird that holds many teachings. Most of its teachings relate directly to the spiritual, emotional and physical growth of those that hold this medicine. When growth is achieved prosperity on all levels is attained. The kingfisher has the energy to accomplish various tasks in an efficient manner. It is a powerful teacher and those with this totem would be wise to call upon it when the need arises.

The Kinkajou

The kinkajou are extremely curious and love to explore things. They are fascinated by the mysteries of life and often find themselves in unusual situations. They can also be shy and retiring depending on their mood. They are sometimes kept as pets and if treated gently they will return the favor.

If the kinkajou is angered or frightened it can deliver a sharp bite. Those with this totem need to exercise caution and never speak harshly or bite with a vengeance when provoked. Balanced action and reaction is part of the kinkajou's medicine.

A member of the raccoon family, the kinkajou is distinguished by its long, prehensile tail. Its large eyes denote its curious nature and its low set rounded ears are keenly attuned to sound waves within the elements of mother earth. Some cultures believe that the kinkajou is able to predict upcoming earth changes because of its ability to hear sound waves and to feel subtle vibrations moving through the earths crust.

Kinkajous are highly intelligent and usually live alone or in pairs. They spend most of their time in trees and rarely leave them. Those with this medicine should go into retreat regularly in order to rejuvenate themselves on all levels. They should also spend time in the forest and stay connected to nature.

The Kinkajou feeds on fruit, honey, insects, small birds and mammals. They have a small digestive system and cannot tolerate heavy foods. A diet of whole grains, fruits and vegetables would benefit those with this totem.

The kinkajou responds to subtle vibrational frequencies and within these frequencies lays the secret of a new life unfolding. If kinkajou appears to you suddenly and without warning expect a new beginning in some area of your life.

This medicine teaches us how to hear what's really being said and assists us in opening up our clairaudient channels. Those with this medicine should use their minds in an exploratory way, especially in the exploration of sound as a healing tool.

The Kite

The kite is a bird of prey and belongs to one of three sub families. They are lightly built with a small head and a partly bare face. They have short beaks and long narrow wings and tail. They occur world wide in warm regions. Their partly bare face is symbolic. It asks those with this medicine to allow their true identity to emerge. Take off your mask and express your true self with pride and dignity. Those with this totem will find that a warmer climate is best suited to them. The warmth of the sun promotes relaxation. When relaxation occurs the awakening of ones personal divinity begins.

Kites are graceful flyers slowly flapping their wings as they glide through the air with their wings angled back. They appear to be buoyant in their movements and can teach us how to move through life with the greatest of east. Holding the energy of calmness and certainty in all that they do they help us discover our own inner rhythm. Those with this totem would benefit by studying their personal bio rhythm chart as well as the charts of those they interact with. This study can aid an individual in discovering what lies beneath the disguise of the human psyche. The practice of all forms of gentle movement is also advised.

Some kites live on insects, others are primarily scavengers eating anything from rodents to reptiles. Proper diet is an important part of the message it holds. To understand the proper dietary implications for those with this totem it is helpful to identify which sub family your kite totem is from. Efficient digestion and assimilation of food is essential to maintain optimum health.

Kites teach us how to respond to people and situations with grace and gentleness. It reminds us to give as well as receive. When the kite flies into your life ask yourself the following questions. Are you experiencing the gentleness of life? Are you nervous, tense or anxious? Do you take the time to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures that life has to offer? Are you expressing kindness to others as well as yourself? The kite carries the promise of joy on its wings. All you need to do is listen to its message and apply yourself accordingly.

The Koala

The koala is one of the most admired marsupial mammals. Their cute cuddly appearance appeals to people of all ages. Koalas grow to about 21 to 33 inches long and are virtually tail less. Their diet consists of a certain type of eucalyptus leaf. One of the most unusual characteristics of the koala is that it seldom drinks. The name koala is thought to mean "no drink" in several aboriginal tongues. Their limited diet encourages a sluggish digestive system. If those with this totem consume a large variety of foods digestive problems could occur. Basic food groups are recommended with an emphasis on herbs and herbal remedies.

Koalas are solitary animals. They are independent and a bit indifferent to family members. At birth a young koala is about the size of a bee. The mother will raise her young attentively until it is strong enough to be on its own. Once this happens the emotional bond between the mother and her offspring is broken. Individuals with koala medicine often require periods of isolation and an environment with little noise. Emotional expression is difficult which can make intimate relationships challenging. The koala teaches us how to be comfortable with our own company. Those with this totem make excellent priests and nuns.

The koalas eyesight is poor although their cup like ears can hear acutely. They also have a highly developed sense of smell. Koala medicine people have strong psychic and clairaudient abilities. Sound that soothes the senses and aromatherapy benefit them.

Although they appear to be passive with a nonchalant attitude, koalas are very territorial. They demand their personal space and accommodate one another accordingly. They sleep as long as 18 hours a day and are most active at night. Koala medicine people do their best work in the late evening and early morning hours.

Perched high in a tree the koalas grip is secure. As they move from limb to limb their footing is solid. When the koala appears in our life its reminding us to stand solid within ourselves and not be influenced by situations or events.

Seldom distracted and always focused, the koala is a master in the art of deep relaxation and concentration. They hold the teachings of stress free movement and can show us how to create and maintain sacred space in our lives.

The Kookaburra

The kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher family. One of its most distinct features is its famous laugh heard at dawn and dusk when it is marking out its territory. Because of its laughter one would think that these birds represented peace and happiness. Although its laugh is contagious don't be fooled by this daring and territorial bird.

A friend told me a story about a camping trip he was on. Sitting down to dinner with friends, cooked sausages had been placed on stick's awaiting their empty stomachs. A fearless and determined kookaburra swooped down and lifted the sausage off the stick and flew off to enjoy its meal. The kookaburra launches itself from a perch to pounce on its prey, or in this case my friends dinner!

Excellent divers, the kookaburra is extremely focused. They go after what they want when they want it. Those with this totem have the ability to achieve their goals if they stay centered and maintain their focus. If the kookaburra suddenly dives into your life its telling you to manifest your dreams instead of day dreaming about them.

The kookaburra has many personalities to fit a variety of situations and is known as the master of illusion. Acquiring master ship is hard work. Because of this the kookaburra demands respect and it usually gets it! Individuals with this totem often achieve prominent roles in society that demand respect and recognition. They make excellent leaders and diplomats.

Kookaburras form community groups which together share and defend their home territory. These groups have a dominant mating pair and other lesser members. A secure home life is important to those with this medicine.

Laughing Kookaburras do not build nests, instead they use existing cavities in trees. Although they can be aggressive when defending their territory of hunting for food they hold an air of indifference when it comes to other activities. When the kookaburra laughs its way into your life ask yourself these questions. Is your fear limiting your accomplishments? Are you focused in your pursuits? Are you determined to change unhealthy habits? If your answer is yes call upon the kookaburra to help you.
